FF7 is half baked. Sephiroth isn't even the villain!

Cabron LaSwan Carchar-odin Cabron LaSwan Carchar-odin Jaycorn I really liked FFVII but it has a lot of flaws. Many, many flaws. They need to remake it so bad. Flaws like what? The awful mistake-ridden translation and the horrible graphics are my biggest complaints. I'm not usually picky about graphics, but that game is seriously torture. I don't read Japanese, so I don't care about the translation and the graphics aren't even that bad. I've seen worse. I...don't either? xd What does reading Japanese have to do with the English translation? What I meant is that the grammar is atrocious, sometimes they leave out whole words or double up on words, and some sentences are complete and total Engrish.
That said, it's not a bad game. It just came out looking and feeling like a college student's end-of-term project to me. That's why I think it needs a remake so badly instead of another carefully polished spinoff. Well, the translation and the grammar hasn't really bugged me yet (even Aeris' "This guy are sick." That cracked me up). Also, the graphics being "bad" probably had to do with the fact that the game was originally slated for the Nintendo 64 and that, due to the sheer length of the game, better graphics would've required more discs to hold all that data. Of course, I haven't played FF8 yet, so I don't know how many discs that one took up. The overworld graphics are a little subpar, I'll admit, but I love the battle graphics, especially Summon sequences. EDIT: Okay, never mind about the graphics bit. I found out FF8 took up 4 discs. @Allegro: Yep, glad to see you're really back.

Yeah, the graphics are hands-down my biggest complaint. I got stuck a few times simply because I couldn't even tell what was what. The graphics don't even necessarily have to be good for you to be able to tell, for example, that you can exit an area by a certain place. That, and the weird translation, and the fact that breeding the gold Chocobo to get Knights of the Round was extremely tedious, and otherwise it seems the only way to beat the final boss is to grind forever. Also tedious.
I guess that's not a ton of flaws, now that I think of it, but it's enough.
I really liked it apart from those, though! The soundtrack is soo great omg.

I'll admit, some parts of the overworld graphics make things hard to get to. My only real complaint aside from that is that you can't pause during battles.

Crisis Core was very good. The Materia system didn't just feel like the Esper system, they didn't try to portray Sephiroth as anything more than a pawn, and there was plenty of Turk action. (Hojo and the Turks are the only worthwhile parts of that whole series. Maybe Red XIII and Cid too. )
Reg, I'm sorry for your loss. Take it easy and revel in the good memories.

They're cheap now and the games are only going to get cheaper since the Vita won't use UMDs.
