"I am the owner of this house!" The ghost shrieked. Windows shook. Two of them shattered, the glass exploding inwards. "GET OUT! I didn't invite you here!" Some upstart had claimed to own the house, then? How dare they!
"You will leave my home," the ghost said.

Toby reflexively blocked his face when the windows shattered. Dari did as well, but seemed to remember he'd be much harder to hurt and went into a bad. He produced the deed to the house from oh so many years ago.
"You may have been at one time, Sir," Dari said, offering the deed, "but you are no longer." He presumed the man knew to some degree of his consciousness if he was appearing as children.
"Please desist in assaulting my friends," Michael said calmly.

The ghost snatched up the deed, seemed to read it, and tore it up. He threw the pieces in Dari's face before disappearing with a wail.
While he was invisible to the others, he appeared to Michael. "Get. Them. Out." The ghost snarled. "I won't stop until they're out!"

Toby rolled his eyes. God damnit. He hated old people.
Dari just blinked at having the papers thrown and bent to clean them up.
Michael disappeared then as well. The ghost seemed to want to contend with him personally, and that was fine.
"They're only here so I can meet you."

"You wanted to meet me?" The ghost was surprised. "I want them to leave. You can stay. They have to go." There would be no cooperation from him otherwise. "Why did you want to meet me?" He asked. "Someone stole my house from me and hired these upstarts to harass me! This is my house! I have rights!"

"They can't go. They have with them the only thing keeping me healthy and energized," Michael admitted. "I wanted to meet you because you are like me. if it makes you feel any better, Agnes didn't send them here. We came because it's our job to talk to people like you. Well. It's my job. Like I said, they're mostly useful for getting me here."
He attempted to change the subject.
"Would you prefer we not use cameras while we're here? You didn't seem to like them."

"Just pick anything here," the ghost gestured around. "Haunt it. Possess one of them. Do something. I don't want them here." But he didn't want Michael weakening, either.
"Please. I don't like all these new fangled things."

Michael reappeared beside the others.
"You may have to camp out," he said.
"What?"
"He doesn't want you here."
"But--"
"What are you afraid of? Me being killed?"
"Alright, you have a point." Toby looked to Dari. Dari looked back and shrugged.
Michael disappeared again. "Do you mind if they camp out in the back yard? So they can't be seen from the street."

"They can camp out," The ghost agreed, seeming to enjoy the idea of kicking the two upstarts to the curb. "They can come in, too, if they ask politely. But only if they ask!" Disrespectful punks. Entering without permission.
"They have to take their things with them." The ghost added.

"That's fine. I'll have to keep my object inside, however. It will best keep me grounded," Michael said. Besides, this mission was looking like it might take days. He reappeared to his coworkers then. "You may set up camp in the yard, and may be permitted to enter if you ask politely."
Toby nodded. "Alright." He waved in the direction the elderly ghost had gone. "We're sorry, Sir. We were mistaken. I can't imagine it's very nice to have people wandering in." He began to help Dari pack up their things. There was always a tent and camping gear in the back of the van on these missions, just in case. He'd give the old guy a chance to cool off before coming back. How was he supposed to know they were finding another intelligent spirit?! The chances were nigh astronomical!

"Of course. You're welcome to," The ghost gestured around again before appearing to the others. "No, it isn't," he grumbled. "Make haste," he added. He looked to Michael again before settling on the beaten up couch.
"You wanted to talk," he prompted.

"Just one moment," Michael said. He appeared again, asked quietly for his object (this time, an old broken pocket watch not worth stealing) and then disappeared to speak to the old man. He approached but did not sit, as he had not been invited to. Politeness seemed very important here.
"Yes," he said, offering a little bow, "It's my job to come and ask questions, so I hope you won't be offended. Rarely are my boss' concerns related to my own."

"Please sit," it sounded like a request. The ghost was watching Michael with interest. "Sit," he instructed, patting the couch. It was a demand the second time.
"I don't like questions," the ghost mused. "I'll do my best to answer them."

Michael bowed slightly. "Thank you."
He sat beside the ghost and folded his hands politely in his lap. He didn't like questions. Okay. He'd have to keep that in mind.
"Don't worry, they're simple questions. For example, do you remember your name?" Many didn't.

The ghost paused. He considered the question; it was a simple one, the answer should've been just as simple. But it wasn't. He frowned.
"No," he said, at last.
