Which RE is the shortest then, Canas?
And in my own personal canon, I'm gonna say that Luis and Saddler used the G-Virus to make the Las Plagas what they were. Sure, they were always around, and the cult did use them back in the day to some extent, with very mild results, but it's the G-Virus that made it possible to do what they did with them in RE4 (not to mention, the parasites sprouting from their heads and growing so huge and rapidly in size). They explain that Saddler brought Luis in to make the Plagas more powerful, but don't go into detail about how he did that. So there's the missing detail. That would also make sense given that all of the boss mutations have the big, giant grotesque eye ball. That's G-Virus' trademark right there. That would also explain the Verdugos too.

Stranger, if I'm not mistaken, Resident Evil: Gun Survivor 4/Dead Aim was the shortest. I think it could be beat in like 2 hours or something like that.
As for the G Virus thing in your own canon, I actually must say, that seems like it would fit. I mean, Luis did say something about he saw the virus someplace. I can't remember right now, but it'd be easy for Saddler/Salazar to come across it on the black market.
Here's something interesting though to support you're cannon aside from the eyeball. The Plagas egg, that was injected into Leon and even the sample was in a mysterious purple liquid. The G-Virus is a purple liquid so, yeah. Though there are other purple liquids out there, it's too coincidental.

The sad part is that I can remember that. "I think I saw a sample of the virus down in the lab at the department." Why do I know these things. D:

Well, Canas, you're our go to guy for these things, so you HAVE to know.
I did like RE5, to be truly honest. Sure, Chris and Sheva had their moments of utter Leon-ocracy, but they developed their own sense of development that actually felt refreshing to the series. I dunno, Chris can pull it off better than Leon I suppose. Plus who can say No to a Falcon Punch?
All in all, it really was a good game, with all the basic elements. You go in, get a hand gun, the s**t hits the fan, you fight, you fight, giant monster element, fighting some more, evil monsters, nostalgiac monsters, super monster that you fight with a Cannon, final awesome boss, destroyed said boss with Rockets, game ends and all is happy.
Though I don't think it's the end. Just because Excella and Irving died doesn't mean that Tricell doesn't have the T/G-Virus, Progenitor, and Las Plagas. We could see an RE6 yet.

RE6 is already confirmed. Takeuchi said it was a reboot for the series. Nobody's sure if that means gameplay, story, or both. I can only pray for it to not be a story reboot. But yes, this belongs in the RE5 thread. Move it along, people! razz And I suppose you're right, Fox. It's my duty to know these things now. xd

Oh dammit, I realised that WAS a spoiler. I only thought it wasn't because I didn't talk about Wesker. Sorry! And Canas, you gotta edit the post from Alkaizer, It's unedited for it holds my bad stuff in it before you changed it!!
Again, sorry, my mistake.

Elliot Salem Stranger, if I'm not mistaken, Resident Evil: Gun Survivor 4/Dead Aim was the shortest. I think it could be beat in like 2 hours or something like that. Oh. I never played Dead Aim. sweatdrop But if I'm not mistaken, I think a few of them in the main series can beat beat in 2 hours if you really know what you're doing (RE1, CV). Elliot Salem As for the G Virus thing in your own canon, I actually must say, that seems like it would fit. Ohh yeeeeaaaahhhh...... I actually remember that, too. Not the exact quote, but it's when you first meet him. And sweet, now that you mention it, it was purple. xd And maybe the top government officials knew it had something to do with the G-Virus, and so that's why they sent Leon in (since he had some experience with it in RE2). Canas Renvall The sad part is that I can remember that. "I think I saw a sample of the virus down in the lab at the department." Ah. So he's referring to the T-Virus here, since he was referring to the "Incident with the viral outbreak" (I took the liberty of digging up the cutscene). The T-Virus was what broke out in Raccoon City. But the virus he used (or perhaps was ordered to use by Saddler) was an experimental, not yet officially tested, highly rare virus developed by Umbrella Inc. -- The G-Virus. Of course, Luis would have no idea that the G-Virus was present during the Raccoon City Incident, or that it was actually used by Birkin, its creator. Only a few select individuals are privy to that information. Alkaizer87 I was going to argue about G-virus not being a part of the plaga thingy, seeing as I do having something logical, but this dieing spoiler gave me a bad taste. Well, obviously it's not. This is just something I'm putting in my own personal canon in order to tie RE4 back into the rest of the series and make it seem less retarded in my own mind. BUT I would like to hear your argument, anyway. Because I'd like to hear any holes in my little theory, so I can try to explain it to myself. 3nodding

Well Stranger, if I remember what Bio said, it took him about an hour and a half to go through it. But I could be mistaken.

Elliot, according to the leaderboards, the current fastest run-time of RE5 is just under two hours. So I guess it's not the shortest, but still.

Well, don't take into account all the infinite ammo and apply the fact that you need to acquire it and it won't take a little under two hours anymore. xD
Survivor was just plan short... That could be beaten in 45 minutes to an hour...

I played the first Survivor, I remember it was short, but it's been a while. Perhaps I should rephrase and say that RE5 is the shortest RE in the main (numbered) canon of the series.
