:::Kal frowns. It was becoming painfully obvious that Maggie wasn't good at talking about these things, at least with him, but it seemed as though she wanted to:::
Is he upset about something else...or does he really mean to... :::what was the least intrusive way to put it?::: to disregaurd his feelings for you?
:::Ok, that's probably not a happy thought for her right now:::
Have you seen him since that last time...?

:::he sighed heavily. Her heart was breaking in front of him and there didn't seem to be anything he could do. Still, he had to try:::
:::as comfortingly as possible:::
Please try not to worry too much, Maggie. It seems like Bard has many things on his mind. Maybe he's just confused, but I know that he loves you...you've got that on your side. Just don't give that up, and it will be alright. Don't let him give up either.
:::a little light bulb goes off. K reaches for a pocket, and pulls out a little red square of cloth, he hands it to Maggie:::
Here. It's a tradition in my time. It's a reminder in tough times, never to give up.

*Maggie gives K a curious look as she accepts the cloth from him.* Ehm . . . thank ye. . . *she looks down at it for a moment, feeling suddenly homesick again. She tries to shake it off by shifting the topic of conversation*
Ye . . know a fair amount about the Brink, do ye not? *she recalls an earlier conversation* Do they truly tell stories about it in yer time?

:::He smiles warmly at her:::
I do... and you're mother all the women in my time aspire to be. You can only imagine how important that is in a time like mine.
:::he's glad he can add something a little more uplifting to the conversation:::

:::You can't help but chuckle when you make a girl like Maggie nearly bubble:::
Yes, truly. Not only do we learn about the devotion and love you have for your son, you grace the last living part of earth with fruit. I always wondered if that was symbolic, or literal...
:::He scratches his head:::
Legend sais that you give the Goddess Luca an apple, as a gift. And she used the seeds to grow the first living plants in Terra...
:::no longer able to help himself:::
Have you met her yet?

*Maggie's still quite taken back by the idea of being the role model of motherhood for an entire society. She refocuses as he asks his question* A Goddess? Luca . . ? *she shakes her head. She recalls Bard asking her before if she'd even met somebody by that name here* Nay, I've yet te encounter anyone by that name. And I've only e'er given apples te Cora . . .

Cora... :::He almost thinks to ask Maggie if she'd seen Cora, but he figured out that it could mean nothing when he asked the same question of Luana:::
Wait, Cora? You say you've only ever given apples to Cora?
:::He looks down at the floor, and to the side for a moment, his eyes infocused, but he comes back shorty:::
Luke told me something strange about Cora, a while ago. He said something had happened to her. I have not seen her here in a long time. Do you know anything about that...?

*Maggies brow furrows slightly* Aye . . . I believe so. Something did happen te her . .. 'twas some time ago for me, now. She appeared here . . . very changed. *she frowns to remember it* And yet . .. I've seen her again more recently, and though she said much time had passed for her, she seemed much as she ever was again.

:::his brow furrowed, she was back to normal?:::
Did she have long silver hair? And metal on her head and wrists and legs? But you say she's not like that...anymore? You've seen her go from one to the other? When did...
:::He stopped himself:::
I'm sorry Maggie...I'm just confused now.

*Maggie nods at his words, quite puzzled, herself* Aye . . she looked just as ye described. I dinna understand it, myself. But last I saw her, 'twas as though none of that had e'er happened. I might have thought perhaps 'twas only a dream, were it not that others had seen her like that as well.

Yes...very, but I'm starting to think there's a whole lot more to it than we know. I'm from the same time as Cora. But my people don't live the way that hers do. Cora is supposedly the reason our world was created.
:::He hesitates a moment, but decides it's time for him to return the favor and at least try to open up:::
It's said that the beneficent Goddess Luca visited the Brink of Time, and met all of you. And seeing the condition that Cora lived in, she went and revolutionized her world out of the kindness of her heart....
I don't remember her very well...I was very young when she died, but she too had long silver hair. I'm starting to think that's strange.
