Kathryn watched as Michael went in, and then came out, looking a bit dejected upon leaving. The girl sat there for some time, thinking about what she should do.
Finally she came to one conclusion and she stood, and silently entered Faith's and McKenzie's room. Shutting the door behind her with a soft click she stood there for a moment before with out a word approuching Faith, sitting down on her bed and placing a calming hand on the older girl's shoulder.
Still she said nothing. If she got kicked out, then so be it, but she would not leave till Faith said something.

McKenzie ran for what felt like forever, subconsciously using her keen sense of smell to avoid Filch and other teachers. She turned at random before finally skidding to a halt in front of two large doors. With only a brief hesitation she pushed them open and entered the Great Hall, silently closing them behind her before making her way to a dark corner. She wanted to release her tears in privacy and no one came through here in the night.

*Faith pulled away from the hand that was trying to comfort her. She stood and exited the room, not wanting to be bothered by anyone at that moment. She made her way down the dark corridor towards the Great Hall. Upon entering she found a clear spot and began to practice her Tai Chi and meditation techniques, a habit she had developed whenever she got upset*

McKenzie instantly cut off her crying when she heard the door handle turn. She shrank further into the corner, only seeing a dark sillohette of the person who entered. She knew who it was though, even without smelling. She sat with baited breath, hoping she wouldn't be noticed when Faith began doing some form of martial arts. In an instant she became mesmorized, watching the rehearsed fluid movements the American went through.

*As Faith continued her routine it became more aggressive to the point where she was doing spin kicks and punches. As she spun around to do another kick her foot failed to pivot, causing her knee to pop and buckle out from under her. She fell to the floor with a thud, holding her throbbing leg* Ow! Dammit!

McKenzie was awed by the movements, until Faith fell. She winced as she saw her knee buckle and frowned as the girl swore. She hesitated for a moment before standing and cautiously moving over to the girl. "Hold still." Her voice held no argument as she cautiously felt the knee. Her frown deepened. "s**t, you did a job on this. You dislocated it. Gonna have to pop it back in." With that she closed her eyes, concentrating before her hands paused in two spots, one pushing the other pulling, and a pop sounding as Faith's knee went back into place.

*Faith cried out, a sound that was anything but human, as her knee was forced back into place. She bit her lip until a small line of blood began to trickle down her chin. Once the worst of the pain had subsided she hobbled over to a bench and sat down* That hurt. *She groaned* How long have you been here?

McKenzie made no comment on the sound that came from Faith with the pain and she watched with disapproval as the girl stood and hobbled to a bench, but again said nothing. She did stand and join the girl on the bench, subconsiously wiping away the trail of blood on Faith's chin with the back of her hand as she answered the American's question. "I'd been in here for a few minutes before you entered." She paused, looking away from Faith. "What were you doing? It looked amazing..."

*Faith stretched out her leg in front of her* It was Tai Chi. I do that sometimes to relax and calm myself. The last bit was just me venting all my anger and frustration from tonight. I had started taking martial arts a few years ago when the situation with my dad began to worsen. After being hospitalized three times and enduring nine miscarriages, I had decided I'd had enough. Not that they did any good. He'd paralyze me before I could throw a punch, then beat me and shoot his wad...

McKenzie involuntarily shivered at the last visual, the hairs on her neck raising. Faith was being amazingly open and honest. She looked at the girl, a mix of expressions on her face, disgust taking prevalance. She didn't know what to say. After a few minutes she finaly managed to utter a sentence. "Geez... makes me glad I don't have a family..." She scratched her head, looking down at the ground, not sure what else to say.

Everybody needs family... *She said as she cast her gaze downward at her feet* The only real family I ever had was my mom and my brother. I wish it was his throat the wolf had ripped out instead. *She said through gritted teeth as she clenched her fists* Or maybe it's my purpose in life to suffer at the hands of others...

McKenzie shook her head. "No, I don't believe that..." She looked up at Faith, her head resting on her hand as it was propped on her knee. "I don't believe that at all. I believe your purpose in life has yet to come. I dunno what the purpose is... maybe to rid the world of a scumbag..." She paused to grin at this thought before continuing. "...or maybe it's to be someone's family and raise someone who will make the world better." She gave a shrug before glancing away.

I've gotten to where I don't care anymore what my purpose is. All I know is that others take great pleasure in causing me pain. *She rubbed her stomach as she felt a slight sense of nausea approaching* I'm scared to raise a family because I don't know if I'll turn out to be like my father. The saying goes "you learn what you live and you live what you learn."

McKenzie listened, analyzing the girl's words and thinking before responding. "I think a saying also goes 'The art of life is to know how to enjoy a little and endure very much.' You've endured a lot Faith, so the most you can do is enjoy the nice things it throws at you. And personally I would think you'd be really good with a family so long as you have someone nice to support you." She smiled softly, looking over Faith's face. "And for the record, I don't enjoy causing you pain." She bit her lip slightly and looked away.

*Faith was about to speak when the nausea intensified* I think I need to go lie down... *She said as she fought to control the contents of her stomach* I don't feel good. *Her voice was heavy with fatigue*
