My sister called me about 20 minutes ago. She had the baby. Apparently it all happened so fast that nobody had time to call me ( stare gonk ). She said it was natural.

Alright, I'm just about done hyperventilating. So yeah, I won't be around quite so much anymore. I'm finally comfortable enough to post officially on it because I was scared that if i did then everything was going to go the other way and I wasn't ready for it.
My wife had been feeling really horrible the last couple of weeks. Really bad stomache pain and back pain. The doctors said it was reflux and the back pain was from carrying twins. Antacids and Tylonol were working alright. She cut back on her hours at work, and pretty much put herself on bedrest when she wasn't at work.
Saturday night, the night kicked in and nothing was helping. It didn't let up for 6 hours. I tried everything and finally called the doctor. She had been resisting it for a while not wanting to be wuss about it. As soon as I got off the phone with the doctor the pain was gone. Poof.
"Well now what do we do? I feel fine."
"Yeah well, we're going to hospital."
"What am I going to tell the doctors? 'Yeah, I was in a lot of pain before, but I feel fine now, and here I am.'"
"Yes, that's exactly what you're going to tell them, now get in the car."
The pain kicked back in after I got her admitted. They did some tests. Liver and gall bladder enzymes were way up and her platelettes (the part of your blood that allows clotting) had dropped severely. My wife's mother and sister both had gall bladder problems around the time they were pregnant. The doctor also suspected Halp Syndrome. If this was the case they would have to take the babies by emergency C-section. We were rushed to Norfolk general Hospital which has some of the best maternity and child care around. If there's a problem with a pregnancy, you want to be there.
My mother and brother arrived soon after. I'll never say another bad word about my cell phone ever again.
It was Halp. My wife was immediately prepped. It wasn't even 31 weeks into the pregnancy. The cure for Halp Syndrome is delivery. The babies were alright, but this could have easily killed Meagan if we waited any longer.
3:04 PM: Nicole Brooke Nozzarella alias "Buttercup" arrives. 2 pounds 15 ounces. 16 inches.
3:05 PM Rachel Lynn Nozzarella alias "Bubbles" arrives. 3 pounds 2 ounces. 16 inches.
Both are still in the Special Care until and are doing alright. They're finally managing breathing on their own with a little help. Buttercup wasn't doing too good for a while. She was fighting the doctor's and nurse's efforts. She was fighting the machines. She was fighting just about everything. That was the most pissed off, wrinkly kid I've every seen. She changed colors about a dozen times, that's how pissed off she is. They had to finally sedate her.
Bubbles is just content sucking her thumb.
They're going to have to stay in the hospital probably until May. They have to be able to maintain their temperatures, and eat on their own. I'm getting ready to head back to the hospital now.
They're not out of the woods yet, but they're mine, and you can bet your asses that they're gonna fight like hell to make it.
All prayers and well wishes are most appreciated.

If nothing else Marty, you're a shamelessly good suspense writer you b*****d. I'm so glad they were delivered okay, it's not hard to see where Buttercup gets that fighting spirit from. I always get the Powerpuff Girls mixed up but isn't Buttercup the tomboyish one? whee

Massive congrats, Jaeger, and glad to hear all involved are in good condition. Very not surprised she's a fighter- she has to carry on the Nozz tradition! My prayers and hopes are with you, man. Take care.

Congrasts on having the kids safely and best of luck handling 'em.
