I did read it. I must have missed something. If you would like to explain it, you can. I thought that he was a dragon type person. thats what I thought. but I guess not...
It's been a while (years) since I wrote those first posts so it's always possible that I can explain it better now than I could then. Here's the run down. Read this and then go read the bits in the first page that relate to the dragon bond.
biggrin Basically, your character is just like any other human in most ways, including appearance. However, your character is bonded to a dragon. It's sort of like having a familiar, but a stronger bond. The dragon is a completely physically separate being from your human character, but they are mentally connected. Your human can communicate with your dragon, but it is dangerous for children to do this because they are not mentally stable yet, and contact with the young dragon's mind can warp your development permanently. Later, your dragon will learn to control their affect on the human's mind, and the human's mind will also be more stable.
Although they are separate beings, they are physically connected in some limited ways. If your human is hurt, the dragon will also get the same wound, and vice versa. The dragon and the human can also switch places but this involves mental contact which can harm young children/young adults. Any magic ultimately comes from the dragon and not from the human. Your dragon can do magic for your human across the bond, almost as if your dragon was right there with the human. The magic itself does not involve mental contact, but there needs to be some mental contact for the dragon to know what your human needs at that moment. For instance the dragon might feel the emotions of the human (that's very little mental contact) but not know why your human is scared.
Most dragons are located in a separate world, which may be another dimension, but whatever it is, it cannot be reached physically from this world-- you can't walk there. However, recently a way has been found to bring some dragons into the human world, and many young dragons are already there in a hidden valley in Tok which lies over the mountains to the west of Feretris. Dragons in the human world can still switch places with their humans. Many dragon/human pairs wish to meet their bonded.
