*stutters* A-a-angel? D-d-demon? N-no. I'm a human not normally fond of titles.
I have also yet to take the life of another. The reason I flew in here with my katana drawn yesterday was...
*sighs and slumps onto the bar*
....the two people I was chasing were leads to the person who killed my parents when I was 16. He also has in his possession something that belonged to my mother and I wish to have returned. So if you want to call me a murderer, that's fine as it's what I plan to do when I find him. I wouldn't call myself a fighter of good or evil, but I can't necessarily ignore dishonorable actions.

::she smirked::
Is that so...human. ::: sure... :::
So, you were apprehending two men who have taken part in the murder of your mother and father...
You should leave such matters to your law enforment agency, I'm sure they have it under control. There is no need for you to stain your hands...nor is it your place to judge them on your own. No doubt you are clouded with anger for what they have done to you, but order is neccissary to administer justice.
:::An old speach she had recited many times over to other victims...she stopped herself....she should practice being warmer perhaps:::
...if you don't mind me asking...what happened?

*ughs at the speech, but gets a slight feel that there's at least something more to Cora since she stopped...*
It's not all that simple. They have no leads, they never will, and they don't want to. The official police report already stated that it was just an 'accidental fire', not even arson... The entire block of homes was burnt to the ground. I ran in while it was still burning, and saw my parents already dead.... Blood and gore everywhere inside the burning structure... They were written off as casualties of the fire.

I'm very sorry... ::: She looked concerned:::
I forget sometimes that the judicial system of times past was not as advanced and as expedient as the one from my time...
So you are sure that they were murdered. Why would some one do that? :::murder was no longer a common crime in her time:::

It's not like it's your fault, and I don't know what a judicial system from any age would do about something quite like that....Someone who would level a block of buildings on purpose...
*thinks to himself carefully.. I can't quite tell her everything, but I guess since I've already mentioned it it's alright....*
They wanted what my mother possessed and I know my parents would've defended it until the end.... Both my parents gave their life for it, and I cannot allow their deaths to go in vain.

Mm... she thought about it.
:::She had recently recieved her first possession from Malazar....It was indeed precious to her...but to lose a life, even multiple lives for an object...a piece of matter, molecules that will belong to the earth one day anyway...she didn't understand the point. Still it was not her place to judge. Perhaps this was a very important piece of matter:::
I am very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do to assist you, I will serve it to the end.
:::She looked away, beyond her seat to the behind the bar...all those bottles, she didn't know what was in them still:::

...Thank you. For some reason just being in this place makes me more calm and relaxed about it... and just about everything in general. It's a little strange, especially after everybody last night.
*notices that the bottle of wine from last night that he only got a sip of is still sitting on the counter, decides to get two glasses, placing one in front of Cora and one where he was sitting*
Wine like this would surely be worth alot of money where I come from *...he says as he fills each glass half way, and returns to his seat*

:::She is a bit uncomfortable...she has no idea how she is supposed to act. Wine...must have been an ancient drink, he had poured into a glass, as though it were meant for consumption...Cora had never had anything to drink in her life but water:::
I...I am supposed to consume this correct? Can you tell me what it is..?

*blinks in disbelief* Uhm, yes, it's wine. It's aged grape juice that develops a percentage of grain alcohol. Grain alcohol is technically poison, so drinking alot is generally not a good idea. It's generally served at restaurants with dinner to add to the flavor, don't they have somewhat fancy restaurants in your time where you go out to eat...?

Restaurant....? You mean an eating facility?
There are really only a few types of food, taylored specificlly to a person's physical requirements. Chemical ingredients are composed with percision, and added to a solid carbohydrate...
Food and drink is strictly for life sustainance...I'm only familiar with the word flavor from history studies....
Why would anyone drink a poison?!

*just stands there with a blank look on his face, unsure of what to even think or say - how do I possibly even describe what taste is or what purpose it serves?*
Well... in my era, we have the horrible habit of eating food just because it tastes good, and isn't just good for us. Although alot of the time we do eat food that does both taste good and is good for us, that just takes time to prepare or costs money to have made for you. This form of alcohol, wine, is considered to be more of a sophisticated drink, and as I said before it can add more flavor to your meal. Wow, I think you'd be in for quite a surprise if you visited any other era... from the way you describe yours, you need a chemistry degree just to order your food.

Everyone in my time is thoroughly educated in all sciences. The study of reality. That is the only way to live is it not? To know the truth?
:::She pondered a while:::
I thought I knew much of what there is to know, about humanity, about existance and truth...but I'm beginning to think that my highly educated time has forgotten many things...
I'm starting to think there is a God...even though I know the astrophysical data that defames the idea of omnipotent presence. And...human contact as I'm learning is not the evil diseas spreader that my world warns against..it does not feel so bad.
:::She looked at the glass, a little reluctant, but she wanted to try it...she looked to Haelous for encouragement:::

You can't learn everything from books I'm afraid.
As time goes on people will forget more and more, and the world slowly becomes a completely different place in the name of science and the "bettering" of the human race...
I would wager if I went back a thousand years from my time I would be as surprised as you are right now.
As for human contact... well.... lets just say you have to be careful, and there is in fact more bad than good out there.
*takes a sip of the wine, and gently sets his glass back down* Wine is consumed in that fashion, nice and slow. Wouldn't want you to drink it like you would water, you'd be in for quite a shock.
