My niece's dad. Ugh. He and his new girlfriend took baby for the weekend ( by which I mean I had her at my house for a visit and he drove here to get her since it's 15 minutes from him instead of the hour+ to where my sisters live). Now they insist they "can't" drive her home, but also that they both work tomorrow (umm, me too. I'm forever working.) so she has to go home today. Neither of my sisters, nor my mom, can drive / have licenses / have car. So my sister says she's going to ask my father. That's right. My dad, of legend. To go get the baby.
This is a guy who won't even pay the water bill on a place where he's still living with his wife/two grown daughters/grand-daughter because he's too busy putting every dollar toward his next girlfriend.
I'm like-- A ) Baby has a room at my house if she needs to stay the night, B ) I have a permanent car seat in my car in case I need to pick her up and her usual one is in dipshit's work car. C) Baby loses her ******** s**t with glee any time she sees me. And D) Between my father and I, only ONE of us has never gotten irritated with a kid and left them in a gas station to teach them a lesson. Guess which one.
TL;DR: I am father of the year and I'm going to go pick up this baby, and we are going to the park on our hour long drive back to her house.
I mean, I'm down for that, because I'm usually off Saturday. But why--

I've always hated seven days in a week. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted four so we can have two days on. Two days off. Two days on. Two days off. Then at least it would be an equal amount of work + hobby/free time.

Yeah, they both have jobs now and my mom watches baby when neither are home. I take her sometimes, and I visit once a week at least, but I'm working all the ******** time, so it's not as much as I'd like. Between the girls and I, the bills for their place are covered, so it's really my dad who should gtfo. But that's delicate too, because they're worried he'd go nuts if they said so.
