Charlie looked up at the sky. "Well, if we follow the smoke, then we'll know where it is coming from." He said to Kate.
Sawyer chuckled. "Yeah sweetpea. Charlie knows what he's doing. He's done this before, right?"
Charlie glared over at Sawyer. "Shut-Up. The last thing we need is to start a fight. The 'Others' or whoever they are, they scared that man . . .they hurt him . . .this isn't a situation that needs your smart-a** remarks."

"Oh, stop it you two!" Kate commanded. "I guess there's only one way to find out."
Jack walked with a vengeance, occassionally looking back to make sure that everyone else was still there. They reached a large plain ending in a cliff.
"Great, what now?" Jack asked.
The smoke was coming from the other side of the gorge.

Sawyer looked at the cliff. "I guess we coudl go until we found a crossing point . . ." He replied, trailing off. "Or, we could just jump over it."
Charlie looked at Sawyer as if he were mad. "WHAT?!"

Kate looked across the gap.
"He's right, just over there. We could make it," she surmised.
Jack looked at her like she had lost her mind and grown an extra head.
"Are you kidding me? Do you have a death wish?" Jack said incredulously.

Sawyer sighed and threw his gun over to the other side, watched it, then saw it land. He smiled at himself and then took a few steps back, then jumped.
Charlie gasped, closing his eyes, but heard a thud and a grunt from Sawyer who had landed saftly on the other side. Locke went next.
"OH bloody hell . . ." Charlie muttered, looking at the gap.

Kate shrugged when she saw Sawyer and the others make it across. She stepped back from the gap.
"Here goes nothing!" She muttered.
Kate took a run at the gap and closed her eyes until she felt the ground against her body on the other side. The wind had been knocked out of her but she was alive.
"Come on, Jack!" She yelled across.
Jack rolled his eyes and tossed his backpack across the gap. He took a bunch of steps back and ran for the gap, making it easily across and rolling to a stop. He picked himself up and brushed himself off.
"Okay, fine, you win, we're alive. Everyone alright?" He asked.
Kate nodded.

Charlie jumped over next, slightly missing the gap by two inches. Locke had to grab his shirt and yank him over. He took a deep breath, his heart racing. "Never again . . ." He trailed off, the smoke was thicker now and it was a lot closer. The drums could be heard beating at a soft beat. He turned to Jack. "Well, I guess we can go now."
Locke chuckled and headed off.
Sawyer winked and followed.

Jack nodded and turned away from the group, picking up his things and heading off towards the black billowing column of smoke. He began to get nervous as they neared it.
Kate kept close to Jack as they walked, wrapping her arms around herself in trepidation.

Soon they were closer to the smoke and Charlie ducked down behind a bush as the sound of someone talking came to them. He frowned. It wasn't like people talking, but it sounded like something over a radio of some sort. Charlie went to go look, but Locke held him back, shaking his head.

Jack stopped and reached out an arm, stopping Kate. They all stopped walking and looked up ahead.
"How are we going about this?" Jack asked.

Locke took a deep breath. "We don't know how many there are. We don't know what or who they are. We shouldn't just waltz into their grounds. They'd probably kill us. That man Charlie found, he was terrified of these . . .people . . .right?"
Charlie nodded.
"Then we should be careful." Locke looked up at the trees. "One of us needs to climb one of the trees, get a good look of things."
Sawyer grinned. "I can do that."
Locke shook his head. "No, you're too heavy and noisy. Kate. You go."

Kate nodded and looked up at the tree, wrapping her arms around it and finding a good foothold.
Jack walked up behind Kate, putting his hands on her hips and helping her up the first couple of steps.
Kate looked around the island from the top of the tree, not seeing too much out of the ordinary. She could see a pyre with a flame lit on it, but no people.
"I don't see anyone," she called down. "They might be in the jungle."

Charlie frowned. "Then . . .now what?"
Locke sighe dheavily, thinking about their next move. It had to be swift and fast, that or they'd be away from the camp for a longer time than usual.
"I say we go in there, see if anyone is home, and if not, take whatever they've got." Sawyer spoke up.
Charlie shook his head. "NO! They're dangerous!"
Sawyer rolled his eyes and got up, walking into the clearing.

((Boone is back! ><))
Boone walked back inside the caves. He had been for his little daily walk to the beach. Since his incident, he had trouble breathing and walking..but he was doing better every day.
He sighed lightly and dropped down on an empty seat.

LostMovie_Fanatic ((Boone is back! ><)) Boone walked back inside the caves. He had been for his little daily walk to the beach. Since his incident, he had trouble breathing and walking..but he was doing better every day.
He sighed lightly and dropped down on an empty seat.Sayid walked over to Boone, smiling faintly to him. "Hello there, how are you feeling?" He asked. He decided to also fill him in on what was going on since he had gone out on his walk.
