Rorie frowned, tilting his head to one side. He really wasn't sure what to make of this other freshling, though he supposed the interaction could be much worse. It wasn't like the boy was name calling or anything, so he supposed that was a good sign. "They are?" He guessed to people more used to single pupils that they were, but he really wasn't sure why it was a big deal. To the question he slightly nodded, tugging one of his plushies closer. "Yeah, I see double, it's not that big of a deal though.. really. I can just see more because I have a slightly wider range of vision. It isn't like I'm a superhero or anything." He replied to the last bit of the question, though he had known other mutants who had a bigger detriment or blessing from their mutations. "I guess I can see better in the dark too." He added though he hadn't ever quite tested it out, he just remembered his caretakers commenting on not being able to see things as clearly as he could.
When the book was offered, he gently grabbed it from the other boy's hand. He really wasn't much of a reader, so he wasn't quite sure if he could read well per se, but he was sure he could read faster since he could take everything in more quickly than most. "I dunno, never really tried it."

No worries! <333 And thank you for the book! Sorry for the double quote! I forgot his item from rolling. >.<;;

Jurvik finally picked up all of his snowballs and put them away. He picked up a bundle of candy canes from a plate set out for the musicians. "Come on, Xeno," he said. "Let's go find Corben and Leif."
Xeno nodded and collected a bundle of candy canes for himself--as well as a plushie from a box set out for them. True, it was another cat, but...hey, it was a really pretty one, okay? "Yeah. Let's go find Corben and Leif and dinner." He grinned at his dad and followed him out.
Wyrdda ran the obstacle course just one last time, and once again did well enough to earn a plushie. One last wolf plush...she picked the white and black one, but waived any other other prizes. "This is good enough," she wrote on her board, then she flashed the card "Happy Solstice! And thank you."
Guereda took their daughter out to dinner not long after at five. Pizza was good enough--it was quick, and it was delicious, and it was something that a tired family could eat quickly without worry. After dinner, they returned to the event, where Reda kept themself awake with a mug of hot coffee, while their daughter played nearby.
When they returned after dinner, Evelyn tracked down a game to play--a ring toss game that had been all but abandoned. But hey, there were still plushies to win. She kept at it until it was time to go, finally winning a pink and purple plushie and some purple candy canes. "Look, Dada! It looks like you!"
Guereda smiled. "Yes, it does." They kissed Evey on the forehead. "Happy Solstice, beloved."
Anchriesel left the event not long after winning the last flitterrat. He had tossed one more ring, won another book (a big thick children's novel), and called it quits. It had been a long and emotionally exhausting day.
Quilo called it quits eventually, but not after taking one more book from the book stand. This time, he picked a mystery book. It looked like a fun read! "Come on, Ella. Let's see if they have ice cream in the cafeteria."
Oriset finally hung up her borrowed apron after seven. It was getting late, most people had left, and she was hungry. "Thanks for helping out," the Baphomet said.
Oriset shook her head. "Hey, it was no problem. Seriously, I was gettin' kinda bored." She took one of the remaining mugs, now full of cold cider. She made a face, but drank it anyway. "Thanks for the fun day. Happy Solstice."
"Happy Solstice," the Baphomet said. "And hey--welcome to the Academy."
Eidil wrapped an arm around Cal's shoulders and yawned. "Okay, one last box, and then we're going home." She didn't wait for the Fallen's reply, only reached her hand in. "Hey, this is definitely powdered sugar."
The Chimera snorted. "Is your friend's brother tutoring you?" She handed Eidil a blue necklace.
Cal chuckled. "No, but he could. He's really good at this. I think he only partially got the Rot." Cal reached into the box, but stuck her tongue out at another bug as it landed on top of the first ones. "Hey, now, do I have to take all of you home?" Secretly she was delighted.
"It's part of a string of lights--where the bulb attaches."
"Right again!" The Chimera handed her another pot. "Happy Solstice, both of you--and thanks for brightening up my day."
After asking his mother another ten or so questions about the wedding and all the flowers she had to use to make the display perfect, Milo found himself being lead toward the edge of the festival. It was time for Solstice break and that meant he'd be allowed to go home for at least two weeks. It also meant he'd be baking cookies, eating lots of nice home cooked meals, and helping his mother tend to her greenhouse and shop in town. He really liked helping her when she worked because it made him feel like he had some responsibility and importance. He was an assistant shopkeeper, cookie taste tester, and excellent food eater! All of these things were very important to him and to his mother. He had to do a good job of them!
"Oh, mama, did you write that letter you said you were going to write?" He asked, looking up to Nora quizzically. "... Okay, can I help you write it when we get home, then? It's really important that we get it done together and soon! I want them to enjoy the Solstice, too!"
(Note to self: This is Milo's last post in the festival)
Melanie and Holly took their time wandering back through the festival, just to take in anything they might have missed while scurrying through. There didn't seem to be very much that she had missed, at least not anything that she really cared about, and it looked like it would be okay if she headed back to Grendel for the night. She was tired, Holly was tired, and it was time to go back home for some good old fashioned rest and relaxation.
"Alright, looks like we covered everything. Time to start the trek back home to bed." She said, giving Holly a scratch behind the ears. "We'll be back for more fun next time a festival rolls around town!"

London looked into what remained of his cup of noodles as he walked back toward the dorms with Zephyr. It was interesting to chat with him because they didn't really know one another very well outside of class. Zephyr seemed like a very nice boy, even if he could be a little more than sarcastic when he wanted to be. London appreciated that he was genuine with his feelings, though, and felt that the other boy really cared about what he said back. Maybe they could meet up some time in the future?
"Alright, well, I'm going to head back to Enoch now." He said, offering Zephyr a smile. "I'll see you around? Oh! And thank you for treating me to dinner. I'll have to get you something next time we see each other!"
(Note to self: This is London's last post in the festival)
Zephyr was absolutely convinced that Beta had been very quick to label London as weird and had judged him unfairly. London was a very chill, down-to-earth kind of guy, and Zephyr really appreciated that. He wasn't nearly as weird as some of the other kids he'd met during all these years at the academy. Beta was obviously just being jealous and mean-spirited. The Fallen smiled back to his new friend and patted him on the shoulder.
"No trouble at all, I like sharing food with others. I find it brings people closer together." He replied, laughing. "But, hey, no need to do anything back for me, okay? I'm just happy that you got some food in your before you fainted. Next time, we should go get some authentic food at a restaurant somewhere in town. Sound good?"

Valerian liked the way his new earrings jingled and shined as he walked. They added a nice background musical touch to the cacophony of voices and shuffling of the crowd going on all around him. Dahlia had put her red earrings in soon after they left the booth, too, so they looked all matchy-matchy. For some reason, he really liked matching his sister, but he wasn't entirely sure why. He didn't think she was cool, right? That was something little brothers didn't think of their big sisters! ... Did they? He gazed up to Dahlia, puckered his lips, and nudged her toward the book booth.
"I think those adults are giving out books, do you want to get one?" He asked, pointing toward a copy of Malice in Wonderland. "Daddy always says we should read instead of playing on the computer all the time. He'd probably like to see us bring some books home along with all of our other prizes."
Miah's feet were honestly beginning to ache from walking around so much, though perhaps that was her fault for not wearing the most comfortable of shoes.
"I should'a known better..." she muttered to herself, gnawing gently on her bottom lip as she continued walking around despite herself. What she really needed was to get off her feet and sit herself down in a nice, warm corner somewhere with some hot chocolate.
...Actually, that plan sounded absolutely perfect. Their original mug had long since run dry--all the more reason for her to return to the same booth to get a second mug.
The second time around, she found herself taking a nice little blue mug which was deceptively cool to the touch despite the piping hot liquid inside. Enchanted, perhaps?

Every single time Alis tried to convince themselves that they had gathered enough plushies, they spotted another, equally soft toy that they wanted to collect. Honestly, could you blame them? The dolls were just so precious, and especially with the news that their house would be helping care for a pair of Freshlings every weekend, it would be good to have a nice supply of toys around the apartment.
That was Alis's excuse for hoarding the precious dolls, anyway.
In the end, they knew that they only wanted the dolls because they were absolutely precious. Still, you couldn't blame them.
It was a smaller blue Kidden plushie that caught their eye this time around, almost completing the Baphomet's collection of beautiful blue plush dolls from the Solstice.
Dahlia's head just about did a complete three sixty when Valerian suggested picking out a book to bring home. Now this was just nuts! Who had changed places with Valerian while she wasn't looking? This had to be some kind of magical tomfoolery! Her little brother was actually being conscientious and thinking of what their father would want them to do! This was either a miracle or a sign that something horrible was about to happen!
"Uh... Yes! Let's go get some books to bring home! Daddy will be very proud of us." She replied, almost incapable of getting the sentences out of her mouth without stuttering in shock. "I see a few books that I like, too. It'll be a lot of fun to read them by the fire when we get home!"
Aaminah soon enough found herself taking a quick break from collecting the cute bulb necklaces, taking a moment to finish off some of her drink from earlier as she sat down off to the side beside one of the many decorative trees. She found herself nearly dozing off in her place when she heard a soft rustle beside her, a fact which had her gasping softly as she jumped, looking to the side to the tree. At first, she saw nothing, which left her quite puzzled.
It wasn't until she lifted a hand, gently pushing aside one of the many branches to reveal the small Skyfish, which had been hiding rather precariously behind one of the tree's crimson decorations.
"Oh!" she gasped, her brows lifting as a smile curled on her lips "Well, hello there," she said softly a moment later, lifting her hand as the little creature slowly edged its way out before flittering atop her palm, where it seemed to comfortably rest for a moment. "Well aren't you cute?"
She barely got the words out before her small Fennekit companion was mewling, jumping up on her lap to try and... 'get a better look' at the fish-like creature. "Uh oh."

So many plushies, so little time.
Unlike the geist's Baphomet roommate however, Braelyn legitimately did have a plan to collect a handful of plushies for the sole purpose of having them there when they got the two little Freshlings on the weekends. Even without the need for conversation, the 'plan' seemed to be working out quite well. While Alis had all of the blue plushies, Braelyn seemed to be collecting all of the more natural-toned ones in paler colors.
"Oh gosh... look at that Fennekitten! It looksa little meaner than I'd expect, but it's still so adorable," she said with a giggle, looking down to the actual fennekit at her feet with a smile.
Toddle. Off? Who was this guy kidding? Deskri couldn't help a scoff. As if he was leaving this spot. He'd told Tengu he'd be right here. Which meant he absolutely couldn't leave this spot. "How about you lumber off." Oh yeah. He'd said "lumber." The stupid giant could wander off somewhere else for all he cared. "I have someone who's expecting me to be here. I'm pretty fuc--... sure you're alone, not like anyone would want to hang out with you for any extended period of time." He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms across his chest.... And shot a glare at the festival-goer that was fixing to place a boa on him. Oh hell no.
nah
Leif hadn't met Baum yet-- though he kind of wanted to... was he as energetic as Kadali? On second thought, maybe he wouldn't be able to handle two Kadalis.... She was wonderful, and he was so happy to be friends with her, but goodness she was energetic! It was hard enough to keep up with dad! "Th--that's really pretty, Kadali... Maybe w-we can find another one... For Baum?" He tilted his head, then looked around for something else to do. "H-hnn..."
nah
Aphelion stared at the book she'd gotten, then nodded. "That looks like a good story." He gathered up his things, awkwardly, but eventually secured everything in place. Although, somehow a book matching Alice's had found its way into his collection.. Huh.
"Yes, I would like that. Perhaps we should have saved the ginger bread houses for later..." He shifted a little, and then followed Alice on out of the festival.
[Alice and Aphelion have left!]
Hatori wasn't sure at first if they wanted to attend, but, well... Here they were, getting a stocking and a bag of candy. The tucked it into the stocking, and then slowly made their way into the festival... Hnn... After some searching, they spotted a familiar bundle of hair off to the side. Carefully they made their way over to the bench Nimue was sitting on, and then settled down next to them. They didn't speak immediately, they didn't really need to anyway. Nimue knew who they were.
Aleis wasn’t the best with plants… so they weren’t entirely sure why of out of all the things they could have grabbed it was the plant. However the only other thing for a prize had been candy and Aleis wasn’t exactly in the mood to grab any. Well plants where kind of cute and could grow on you. Then again Aleis wasn’t really the type to always been in their room and you at least had to water it right? Maybe she could give it as a present or hmm maybe she could set something up where it sat on the window seal and Aleis could set up a watering charm or something…. Ah well what would happen would happen.
Still no sister and his parents were worried sick. Tsukiyomi really didn’t think, he knew how she thought by now too. After all you wouldn’t expect something bad to happen this close to the school while Below was trying to welcome Above… however there were seriously bad people around and she could get kidnapped or some other nefarious thing… with a pout Leto grabbed the second bag of candy that was being passed around and went back to sitting on his bench. He hoped she was grounded for life. Ugh that wasn’t really festive was it….
Yami winced as a bracelet of all things hit him in the back of the head. However he wasn’t able to retaliate because he was pretty sure his name was being called. He did tense up hoping that no one would recognize him at the festival. However looking over at the Grimm that had called out his name, he safely came to the conclusion that she was not a part of that aspect of his life. He had seen her around in the café, and he was pretty sure wandering down the halls of leviathan. “Ah yes, that would be me.”
