Lin nodded at this, "We should. He seems so busy, but maybe what we all need is some time out and some time together."
The children had just sort of come into their own so quickly and suddenly that now there wasn't much for them to do or talk about.

Earendil nodded slowly. "We're all busy," he murmured. "But we're only as busy as we allow ourselves to be. Everyone."
It seemed as though they were all doing their own things now that they had stopped. Maybe once they started traveling again, they would grow closer again.

Lin chuckled a bit as she picked up her tea box and began the trek back to camp with Earendil.
"We don't win do we? Either we're not busy enough and bored out of our minds or we're too busy and don't spend enough time with everyone."
That had been her and Earendil's problem, since they didn't have crafts that could be done while remaining in one place so until they took up writing about their trip, they were often bored.

Earendil couldn't help but smile at that. It was true.
"Then either we need new hobbies or we need to get our kids to slow down a bit," he chuckled.
It didn't take long for them to get back to camp, where Mailon was still sitting where Miyuki had left him and Wren was still next to the fire, though by this time she was cooking the meat over it. Earendil went straight towards the tent and held the door for Lin since she was carrying the tea box.

By the time they got to camp, Miyuki was just leaving the tent. She had gotten that flask of water, but also stayed with Andarien for a bit before heading back out. She knew she had left Malion alone for a long while, and really Andarien was asleep. There wasn't much else she could do at this point.

Mailon hadn't spoken to anyone else since Miyuki had left him to help search for her brother, but he had been watching the comings and goings closely, and listening to what bits of conversation he could catch on the breeze. He had gathered that Andarien had been found, but that something was not right, a fact that was confirmed - in his eyes at least - by Lin and Earendil's return from wherever they had been. Somewhere nice, judging by their clothes.
Earendil nearly bumped into Miyuki leaving the tent when he went to open the flap for Lin, and he stepped aside to make room for her.
"How is he?" he asked her quietly.

"Asleep," Miyuki replied, "I nudged him away long enough to make him drink a bit of water. I left the flask by his bed. He still says he feels cold, but he feels pretty warm."
It was hard to tell if this even bothered him, he was sleeping so much. He seemed happier to just be wrapped up in those blankets and left alone at the moment.

Earendil nodded. "We'll check on him, too," he murmured. "Thanks."
He reached for the door and held it open for Lin. Then he remembered about the soup and glanced around.
"Miyuki, will you ask Wren to start some soup?" he asked her. "Sooner it's started, the more likely it will be ready when he wakes up."

"Soup?" Miyuki blinked before nodded, "Okay, I'll go tell her then."
She was sure they still had some bones from the meat that Wren was preparing and that would be good for soup stock.
Lin entered the tent as their daughter went off to tell Wren the change in meal plans.

For the next while, things went on more or less as usual, with the exception of Andarien, who took a full week to recover from his illness. The weather grew colder, the leaves fell, and the group collected wood for fires for the coming Winter.
Then Winter hit, cold and snowy, and they spent most of their time inside - which, thanks to Miyuki and her mobile home, was not the misery it might otherwise have been. Andarien made new things in his forge, brought them to the city and sold them, and with the profits bought even more materials to make even more projects. Shoneah helped him out when she wasn't helping out with the hunting.
Wren and Lancaeriel still did most of the cooking, though some of the others helped out from time to time, and Ahkshi and Kyrie were regular visitors for meals. Shiro worked, Kaito disappeared for hours at a time, Daeron and Iorlas spend time together and with Amir, who was growing very well. Still not talking, but at least he was laughing now. Earendil continued to study maps, and even a few times managed to convince Lin to go out and make snow forts in the snow - reliving the memory of them making one on the mountain during Miyuki's first Winter in the Borderlands.
Mailon didn't do much, and had a very quiet personality; but he did get to know most of the people to a point where he was not uneasy around them, and at no point did he feel they were judging him for his past. Even Kyrie seemed to grow more easygoing around him - at least towards the end of Winter.

Since Winter meant more time indoors, Miyuki kept herself busy by practicing her illusions (and storytelling), and adding to the mobile home. She had gotten to the point where she was planning a lot of the stories as well, so she could tell them herself.
She understood that even though in this particular city there was a theatre for performances that might not always be the case. In some cases she might have to make it a street performance, so she had to be ready for that too.
As for the mobile home, she began to work on the kitchen. Adding cupboards, a stove and oven, and table and chairs. She had also added a place for Amir to play, which just required opening up the living room wall to where the rec room would be.
When she wasn't practicing or add, she was planning. She asked around for what spices, raw goods and some crafted goods would be unique to only this location. The money she made from her performances went into buying those goods from local sellers. It was hard, because she had to learn quickly how to bargain, especially as she was buying larger amounts for some goods.
She also, unintentionally ended up working with Eron as well. He was getting good enough to extract minerals needed for chemistry working. One of the things Eron ended up making (that he would have never imagined himself making) were bath salts. Since it was winter, he couldn't make anything other plain bath salts, but he told Miyuki if she could get him floral ingredients, he could make them scented. His in particular were made to soften water and callous skin.
By the end of Winter, Miyuki had quite a number of products to sell, of which she kept in a different set of runed boxes that could be folded open to reveal their wares.
So it was no surprise that it also meant she was excited to be on the road again. Just to see what else was there. That and they had been in one place for a lot longer than any of them were use to.

One day, when the snow was beginning to fade away, Kyrie came to the camp and announced that she was ready to travel again. Mailon had also regained his strength, so there was no reason to wait any longer for them to set off. Since the group had spent the entire Winter preparing food and such things as they would need for traveling, it wasn't necessary to do any more preparations; and so that very morning they packed the tent and set out.
"So where are we planning on going first?" Kaito asked Kyrie as they left Makshim behind. He had looked at some maps with Shiro and Earendil, but he hadn't paid any attention to any of the planning that had bee going on during the months that they had been there.
"Northeast," Kyrie replied, looking forward. "Considering that it's Stirring, I thought it best we visit the northern countries in the warm months."
"And which countries are those?" Andarien asked curiously. He hadn't looked at a single map during their time there, having been far too busy with his own things.
Kyrie smiled at him. "Wolsic, where I found Uruloki," she began, "then Jielam, and then Friesia."
Mailon started. "You are planning to go back to Jielam?" he asked. He tried to hide his surprise, but failed miserably.

"Is there something about Jielam?" Miyuki asked.
She knew they were going to travel to many countries as possible, though they would avoid the cities in some territories such as any place owned by the White Elves. From what little Miyuki had learned, they were not people you wanted to mess with or even try to talk reason to.

Mailon looked at Miyuki. "Jielam is the place where I was born, both in this life and my first," he told her seriously. "It is not a place where strangers are welcome, and ..."
He trailed off and glanced at Kyrie uneasily, unsure of whether it was his place to explain any further.
Kyrie put to rest any fears he might have had. "That is where he trained me," she said grimly. Then she caught Mailon's gaze and nodded at him. "But I have been asked to escort them to each and every country on the continent, and that is what I shall do, as safely as possible."
She smiled at the others. "It will be a tricky journey through Jielam, I fully admit it; but on the other side is Friesia, another country of Fire Elves, and you can rest assured that we will be safe there."

Miyuki nodded, "And we had kind of figured where we were traveling is going to become more dangerous. There's a reason for more training when we could."
There had been more training with the Pokemon, coming up with strategies. Sometimes, Miyuki spoke with her brother on the matter because between the two of them their eevee hoard had a large number of elements they could combine and use.
Also with Ura's help, she had sat down and figured out what attacks that Suki should use.
"All we can do is be careful," Lin agreed with a nod.
