"Good timing, actually," Earendil smiled, glad to see his daughter. "I just woke up a few minutes ago. Come on in."

Since it was still somewhat cool outside, especially at night, he had worn his clothes to bed, and he was decent enough for her to come into the room.

"Have you been up long?" he asked, unsure what time it was or how tired any of the others had been.

Earendil smiled. "So they've named him. That's promising. How's he doing?"

If they had named him, it was probably good news - not to be morbid, but if the child was going to die then he didn't know if they would have allowed themselves to become so attached to it already.

Earendil chuckled softly, his eyes warm. "I had a feeling they would," he grinned knowingly. "From the way Iorlas took charge of him, I had a feeling that if he survived, he would be theirs."

He shook his head slowly. "Considering his family was clearly massacred ..." His brow furrowed then. "I can't help but wonder ... why they would have been attacked like that. Nothing taken, only destroyed ..."

"Whatever the reason, it wasn't a good one," Earendil sighed. Then he looked back at Miyuki. "And did you say Iorlas and Daeron came back here with you?"

He smiled. "Maybe we can convince them to stay for a meal, too. I'd like the chance to talk with them. See the boy. See how he's doing for myself."

Earendil debated the question in his mind for a moment. Yes, he was still tired, but he had slept quite a bit and the way to feel better now would be to do something. Besides, he would have all the time he wanted to rest, he was certain.

"Yes, I think that sounds good," he decided finally. He looked up at Lin. "What do you think?"

He was sure that if he started feeling weak again, they could return here, or even just rest wherever they happened to be; bu for now he was feeling pretty good, and he wanted to get out for a bit.

Earendil chuckled softly. "All I remember is red. Lots of red."

He turned back to Miyuki. "Anyways, you go on out there and wait for us, I'd like to get changed first. These are still the same clothes we were traveling in."

Which made it the fourth day in a row he was wearing them - including sleeping in them, since they hadn't been able to change their clothes on the flight, and he had been too tired the day before.

"Find you in the dining room?" he asked her. That would be an easy enough place to find, and Daeron and Iorlas were already there anyways, according to Miyuki.

Meanwhile, Lancaeriel had joined Iorlas and Daeron in the dining room, and the three of them were in deep conversation when Miyuki joined them again. Daeron had Amir in his lap, sitting up, and the infant was looking around silently. There was no emotion on his face, no indication that he was aware that things were different from what his life had been.

Iorlas spotted Miyuki, and she waved her over to join them.

"Did you get the sling?" she asked, trying not to speak too loudly across the room.
