Y'know. If DoW ever does like just keep expanding and expanding, I think it'd be neat if you could choose to upgrade your men (Chaos again, yes I do complain a lot) with a Mark of Chaos.

If you give them Khone, they become Bezerkers as they are in Winter Assault. They can get an Aspiring Champion.
If you give them a Mark of Tzeentch, they become a unit of Thousand Sons with more HP and their Aspiring Champion loses the Bezerker Rage (What soul is there to inspire) and instead he gets that shitty sorcerer ability to tie down units. Chains of Chaos?
If you select a Mark of Nurgle, then they become a unit of the Death Guard, with more HP and a green/brown mist that does damage through proximity to buildings, vehicles and units that aren't Nurgle (So keep them away from your base and other men)
If you select a Mark of Slaanesh, then they get access to Sonic Weaponry or something. That could slow down the enemy, negate any bonuses from cover or morale boosts, or reduce morale.

Each unit would come with it's own specific model. You've had to buy an upgrade at HQ, like you do for the Vindicare Assassin of the Guard, and then upgrade each unit individually. It could only happen for Chaos Space Marine Squads, not Posessed, and you can buy them direct from the Temple for a bit more, like Bezerkers now.

It could happen in time. I see Slaanesh being the next God they cover after Flesh Hounds/Bloodletters, then they could have a rival faction war. This company seems to like completey ******** around with how an army works, so this shouldn't be too new to them.
neutral

They could actually include this in an expansion, "Call to Chaos" where you get Dark Eldar as a playable race, and Mark of Chaos upgrades for Chaos, A s**t-hot Harlequin addition for the Eldar, a Venerable Dread or someshit like that for Marines, Necrons get that other C'Tan, but you can only field one at a time, and have one researched at a time, to keep it fair, Tau get the Vespid (ohwowace) and then Orks get something ace. I don't play or know Orks.
But they could do it in time.

It'd be good if eventually, you can upgrade your HQs with a mark for the same benefits as above. But if you have a Khorne Lord, your Khorne Sorceror is just another Aspiring Champion or something. Tzeentch will get 2 Sorcerors, one will be a Sorceror Lord (after buying the Upgrade) and he'd come with a special power or something. There'll be a way around it all, just pan it out.
Maybe one day they'll be able to do it for every army out there, like have Catachan upgrades and Steel Legion upgrades, or Xenos Hunter upgrades for Space marines. We know those ******** are rock hard solid.

Firstly though, I reckon they need to change the way that the Lord has Khorne Symbols making up the centrepiece of his axe. That's not very good in my opinion. Apparanly they made it that way because people bitched about how the Manreaper is a Nurgle Weapon. That could have been a powerweapon. Now look. It says Khorne bloody well on ********, I should work there. I'd have ideas popping out my balls.

*sigh* unfortunatly, this would probably destroy the game. The unique thing about it is, the essentials are there! they dont want to make it that complicated for an already hard race.
They would also have to do this for the eldar, since certain people come from different craft worlds...
I like the idea, chaos need something more, but i doubt you can convince anyone to go for it...

Maybe if they do something right, the game creators will eventually have the game perfected in the very distant future and it will be like Supreme commander, only of warhammer 40k.

I hope this game isnt delayed...
Did i hear rumors that it was coming out in September like WA? cause if it is they better get their asses going to finish it. I got a question, i wish i could have a pole but i cant so...
How many of you would want DC to come out on time but unfinished (then have a patch fix the problem)
Or wait for a completely finished product

And is there gonna be a scenario editor!?!??! i love scenario editors... heart domokun

oh and thanks for the information on the great knarloc, lt brookman
he doesnt seem to be all that badass though...

OH, i almost forgot, speaking of badass, ive had a question thats been iching my a** for ever.
I was looking at some screen shots, and playing DoW and i notice that, well of course, their arent target priority tests. I notice this, when i was watching a lone gaurdsmen seargent (his squad got screwed). Now what i saw was this, he was shooting a ork with his lil laspistol while a squiggoth was running at him to eat him up. Now this i really dont understand, you cannot ignore something that big, i mean, its not possible.
Then your "fight or flight" instinct comes in which means:
1. hes going to shoot at the monsterous thing with a ******** pistol WOW, ok, if i had a small gun like that i would drop it and yell "******** this im gettin outta here b***h!" and run away
2. What SHOULD happen is that your mind tells you to get the ******** outta there cause your a dumbass for letting a big a** green monster get right next to you. It should not tell you how ever "lets shoot at the green mutha ******** and see what happens durfdadurf!"
youve all noticed this yes! maybe it shouldnt be up to the commander to screem and yell and point at the big thing and say shoot it, it shouldnt!

It will be released around September or October.

It will be done, I will not settle for an unfinished product.

oops, i edited a little too late...damn it
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 11:38 am

if they are goign to delay they better release demo's or preview plays so we can see what it is going to be like, and to satisfy us but an unfiished product would jsut be dumb.

also what if they had something like unless a squad has a seargeant or their like elite units- (karskins, orgryns, termies, obliterators, nobs etc.) or commanders should be partial demoralized or all demoralized all the way when they can see or shoot at a bloodthirster, squig, or avatar i mean would you stand there shooting at it with perfect resolve or be like scew this as my cousin said.

Yeah, it seems that the concept these days, when bigger means better, it also means its a hell of alot scarier
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 11:54 am

i think's a prety accurate concept unless you have a really really big and powerful gun.

It's decided for October, if it's delayed, november onwards.

I'll not pay for half-done s**t.
