After a bit of blinking, Xiu smiled and tilted her head. "Grinding what? I thought they were just dancing!" Clearly that had gone over her head, but before the other ghoul could point that out, Xiu had already moved on.
"I'm not much of a dancer either, but I decided I would let that go, just for this one night." Granted that she had been pulled into her first dance, and it had been...uh, a pretty unconventional dance, that was for sure. She wasn't sure where those strange moves she did came from, but what was done was done. That, and to her knowledge, she hadn't seen anyone else snapping photos, so perhaps her dignity was spared.
Maybe. Then again, what dignity did the little Baku really have? Sometimes she was scared of her own shadow!
"I haven't seen you around before," She mused, though it wasn't surprisingly considering how new she was. "I'm Xiu, and this is Vaith," Instead of tugging Vaith to his feet and over towards the other ghoul, Xiu decided to spare him since he seemed like he was pretty tired.

Tomoko's ears perked up in turn, her own tails wagging as a big smile came across her face. Jove's canid expressiveness was easy enough for the kitsune to read, coming naturally as a fellow canid (albeit of many more tails). In fact, she'd hardly heard him do more than introduce himself and comment on her dress.
That was a lot of time to go without communication verbally.
"That's good. Cookies are good. I just can't eat a lot of them or I might get sick." it was probably a foreign concept to the ghost boil, "Which is sad. I like them. They taste pretty good." She looked about the table with a piqued and curious expression on her face.
Then over her shoulder. It looked like the hip-thrust line had cleared up! That was good. That might have made it safe for her to actually go and dance.. ... ....
Wait.
Tomoko's ears drooped a bit.
Oh shoot. She didn't have anybody to dance with, did she? Her ears seemed to go through a series of motions as she thought about this before they perked right back up and she looked to Jove expectantly;
"Jove-kun! Do you dance?"
===
Invictus didn't seem as entertained when Calder came back, his brows furrowing together lightly, the barest of motions.
"Is that what you'd call what foolery I was watching?" he asked, sounding slightly sarcastic from the question. He had been able to witness it all, and he was not impressed in the least. Oh, no he was not.

Mitsu smiled over at Jericho and Levi as they talked amongst themselves. The tatzel seemed very interested in learning the proper technique to the dance Jericho had been performing. He had won after all so he was definitely the one to ask.
Looking back to the plate of treats again Mitsu started to eye a small piece of cake Shun had grabbed. It looked delicious, the top of it covered in a fluffy sort of white frosting. With care she used her pointer finger to scoop a little bit of the frosting onto her finger tip and bring it up to her mouth. Her tongue had come out to first lick the frosting from her finger before she stuck the digit in her mouth.
"Oo, Shun you should try this." She voice held the essence of delight before she scooted the plate closer to Shun. "It's really good."

It was a boil's club thing
The tatzel was convinced of it now. She raised a brow at him in confusion before shrugging. Jericho was an honorable fellow, but still a boil. There were just some things boils weren't willing to reveal to ghouls, she guessed; it reminded her of the boils back home who weren't willing to teach her moves either. Levi returned to her usual train of thought then - smart mouthed boils- they were only good for the wrestling. Not that Jericho was one of the terribly bothersome ones. He likely had his reasons.... Levi had no clue what though.
She decided he wasn't to blame and smiled at him again when he offered what he did. O, I see... She didn't. Guess I'll get it one day. She sipped and looked back to Holly, rolling her eyes. Holly would get her drift.

Ahem... fashionably late was such a convenient excuse for people that simply couldn't be bothered to keep to a schedule. Altair certainly counted himself among their number, although he also didn't mind missing the beginning of a dull party full of underclassmen. Unless someone spiked the punch, he doubted this would be too much fun. Of course he had to attend for reputation's sake. And the date that he'd snagged for the occasion certainly didn't hurt, either.
At the thought of her, the incubus glanced sidelong at the tall, leggy ghoul he was escorting, quirking one groomed eyebrow as his golden gaze flicked up and down her lithe curves. Ah, yes. There certainly were perks to being really, really ridiculously good-looking. You got to fraternize with chicks like this (dayum, dat buttwings). The demon himself had cleaned up, trimmed his unkempt hair and slicked it back, polished his horns to a mirror shine, and clad himself in a red vest to match the lovely lady in the red dress he was privileged to have at his side for this dumbass event (what was he expecting, Nukpana set it up). And he was certainly planning on taking his privileges, sir, sooner or later.
The Heiress to the rider of War was truly a worthy bit of arm candy, and as she was new to the academy, Altair was keen to show her a good time. He had his own reputation to uphold, after all.
"Well, at least we made it before it ended. With how long you spent primping, I was sure we'd miss it," he teased Eris as he pushed open the door for her.

He very well might have upped the difficulty level of the dance a great deal by the time Junko had looped her arms around his neck, but he hadn't been careless. No sir, he'd kept a firm grip on her throughout the entire thing and any time one of her shoes slipped on the hard floor he'd held her upright. None would be the wiser, and to the untrained eye it would appear as though the that hadn't been the first time Junko had tried anything half so complicated.
He was laughing by the time she pulled him down for a kiss, the sound muffled against the soft press of her lips as eyes widened for an instant before falling closed. His arms curling around her torso to hug her close to him. Picking her up off her feet so he could dance them around while they kissed. The steps didn't match the beat of the music at all, but he just didn't give a damn in that moment. Let the others think they were silly, he didn't care.
After a moment or two he set her down again, and with an impish little grin he pressed her close to him, turning so his body was shielding her from the rest of the crowd before dipping human fingers down within her cleavage to snag the hair tie once again. "Naughty ghoul," he teased, nipping her lip before loosing his hold on her. Attention dropping to the edge of her dress. "There's an under layer on your dress, isn't there?" Someone had an idea.
Instead of pulling his hair back up in it's neat pony tail the boil knelt at the edge of her skirt, plucking up the side and pulling the second layer up to eye it for a moment. The stitching was perfect and the thread was thick. It would do. "Don't freak, ok?" He rolled his eyes up to her, brows raising in a hopefully reassuring manner before the tip of his index claw poked a tiny hole in the edge of the under fabric beside the reenforced hem. He didn't wait for her to protest or squeak at what he'd done, but slipped the hair tie within the hole and looped it around itself, then reached up and took her right hand. Slipping the band around her wrist.
"There, see? Now we can dance and you're skirt will be held up without you having to hold onto it." Don't be mad!

Tomoko's words struck surprisingly close to home. Jove could sympathize, before the island he had been able to eat cookies and things at his leisure without having to worry about his stomach paining him. But for some reason, he just couldn't handle much of anything since their return, it made him feel kinda sick. Or at least what he imagined living things would describe as sick. If he forced himself, it would make the left side of his stomach hurt. So he was glad the little kitsune wasn't going to wonder why he wasn't eating anything, and... What was she doing now? Jove watched the emotions play out on her face with a head-tilt of his own, before she perked back up. Did he... dance? His ears turned back nervously as he thought about how to reply. Did he dance? Not if he could avoid it. But was she asking him if he would dance? And could he say no in this sort of situation? He had already dodged the dancing bullet once that evening, this time he was cornered. He hesitantly nodded, hoping to stall at least until a slower song came on. Then maybe he wouldn't feel so awkward dancing...

Petro had no experience or knowledge of Prom prior to being enrolled in the academy. If he had, he probably wouldn't have joined in on the hip-thrusting because he might have considered the possibility the two ghouls would find him embarrassing. But since his knowledge was... skewed at best, he had just gone with his herding instincts and did as others did. With a smile, he dutifully escorted the two ghouls to the table Tset had pointed out, even pulling out two chairs for them to sit down in. Until the blonde demoness mentioned wanting to get them something to drink. "Lemme get that for y'," he offered, "For both of y'. I made y' wait, 's least I could do."
With the song changes, he spied more students going to the dance floor to, well, dance. Thankfully they weren't as... questionable as the one he'd done, but it made him ask, "After I get y' both something to eat or drink, y' up for a little dancing?"-------------------- Tess had been left to fend for herself for a few moments, tempted as she was to follow after them, she instead opted to freshen up a bit. Or as much as she could, given the damage Esmerelda had made on her dress and her hair and her skin. Corporal punishment wasn't new to the winged ghoul, but seeing the pinch marks and the thin trails where nail raked her skin made her wince. Mostly because they were in plain sight. Thankfully no one had noticed it.
And yet a small part of her felt resentful for it. Was she in the wrong to think Esme might have gotten a little carried away this time around? Considering no one said a word about it, maybe she was just exaggerating. So when Mac returned and suggested they go for some punch, she pushed away the self-consciousness and smiled, "I'd like that, thank you."
Leathery wings flapped towards the refreshment table, somehow able to avoid smacking into other students, "Did you and Lizzy have a good chat?"

Shun certainly didn't envy Jericho's position right now as Levi was trying to pry details of the thrust out of the boy. Turning his attention towards Mitsu, he glanced at the cake she had just tried. It looked rather sweet. Hesitating for the moment, he grabbed a fork and broke off a small chunk to eat.
"Not bad at all," he said after giving it a try, "And no chocolate too."
---
"I'm sure you will," Jericho said, not wanting to say much more than that. Glancing over towards the dance floor, he decided to try and break free from this awkward conversation.
"Excuse me," he nodded to the tatzel before getting on up to head towards Riley and Malodore.
"Enjoying the dance?" he asked them.

"Roch..?" Moure's surprise was evident when the Gluttony Demoness explained who she was attending with. It did make sense though. In the time he'd met both the reaper and the demoness, he'd witnessed one huge thing in common. Both loved to eat. It really did make sense. He assumed Danny knew Roch form her loud laughter, though.
As Claire asked her question, Moure's eyebrows raised. Was she asking if he was DATING Danny? Of course he wasn't! They were just friends, after all. Then though, Danny spoke up, asking what the gluttony demoness had meant. Claire responded, confirming that her question was about if he and Danny were dating. Moure's expression was surprised, and he shook his head. "No, no. We just came as friends." As Danny unlooped her arm from his, he spoke again. "I'm acting as Danny's Escort, that's all." Well, this was getting REALLY awkward. It probably looked amusing to anyone else watching it though, with both Moure and Danny denying so furiously.
And then Danny started talking again. Moure's face was rather embarrassed too. Oh gosh, this was just so awkward. She had spoken well about him and he appreciated it. "Thanks, Danny." Moure felt the slight Gluttony ghoul looking at him, and was a bit surprised by her statement. Then as Claire started to leave, Danny had spoken up, asking if Claire liked Moure.
...OH. As Danny pointed it out, Moure felt like he should go bang his head into a wall for not noticing eariler. This explained EVERYTHING she'd been doing at the Cafeteria, didn't it? Oh shoot, how do you react to ghoul's liking you? Moure didn't really know what to do, but he thought he should say something at least.
But before he could, Roch had shown up. And apparently asked if he could steal Danny for a dance. "Oh, if she doesn't mind..." Moure gave a shrug, looking at his 'date' for her imput on the situation. If that was the case though, maybe he could make it up to Claire for not realizing her intentions eariler.

Junko almost laughed as he picked her up to keep them dancing as they kissed, clinging tighter to him as she pulled away enough to just rest her forehead against his with a delighted little giggle. He was so silly! It wasn't until she was set down on her feet again that she opened her eyes, looking up at him curiously and somewhat suspiciously. Why was he looking at her like that? She tilted her head to one side, definitely not trusting that grin of his. It made her worry. Why was he grinning like that? They were dancing. They were having fun. Was he going to make her do a dance move she was definitely unable to do? Oh, Jack. He wasn't going to start doing that one dance the others had been doing, was he? Please, no. Just...no.
"SEIJI!" She squeaked, one hand slapping over her own mouth to keep from getting too loud while the other swatted at the hand going down the front of her dress. What the...! Why was he..what...why?! That was hardly appropriate! He couldn't just--oh. The hair tie. Junko was blushing and pouting as he teased her and nipped at her lip, making a stubborn little noise of mild irritation. In public? Really? He couldn't have waited until they were outside or something? He'd ruined what'd been a sweet moment! Uuuuuugh!
Boils.
She gave a nod at his question, frowning a little as she looked down to see what he was doing. Gah! Now he was lifting her dress?! "S-Seiji! Whatareyoudoing?" Junko blushed even more as she looked around in a slight panic. Don't look! Don't anybody look! If he even--don't freak?! She already was! Why was she going to freak even mo--SEIJI! WHAT?!
Junko's hair hung limp and her face paled, looking about ready to either cry of strangle him. What. Was. He. DOING?! Her eyes were wide as he stood up and slipped the hair band around her wrist, looking down at it and then up at Seiji again.
"O...oh..." She breathed out, forcing herself to relax. Okay...i..it wasn't so bad...

Tomoko practically bounced when Jove answered, looking expectantly at the DJ who was in the booth at the time as though magically her stare would enable them to change the song to the next one. She needed it to be the next one!
"Let's wait for them to change the song, Jove-kun, then we can go dance!" she beamed, having never actually been informed he wasn't interested in dancing with her, so seeming inclined to think that because he wasn't not-interested he was clearly alright with her dragging him onto the dance floor to do so!
JOYOUS JOY OF HAPPY KITSUNE.
Tomoko was officially enamored with prom, despite the fact it wasn't a 'romantic' outing to her at all. It was still amazing. Glowing floor, dancing, food, lots of people in one big room. Ohhh, if she'd had her ball of stars, she would have had amazing s**t happening herself.
... ....
Tomoko let out a bit of a whine at the thought of her ball of stars, left unattended in her room. Paranoia.
"Jove...everybody is here right? Not in my room stealing my stuff, right??" she asked, her eyes glossing over out of fear of that idea.

Riley pulled her head up, letting one arm fall away so she could turn to the side while her other arm remained wrapped around Malodore's shoulder. She eyed Jericho mischievously, tugging on his fancy jacket.
Not as much as you are, I'm told. Congratulations on winning the dance contest. I wish I could have actually seen it - though I felt it beneath my feet.
Her fingers smoothed down the lapel of the coat as she flickered her gaze down to it.
Who dressed you for prom? This is quite a lovely outfit.

Mot had been left on his own. It was fine, really. He used that time to get himself back together.
It was just a peck on the cheek. Not a real kiss. It was nothing! Oh, but a ghoul got really close to his face. Right inside his bubble. But surely he was mature enough to deal with this by now? He was 16! But no one ever gets close. That's what the hat is for! Keep them all away!
More time had passed than he though, as he was soon tapped on the shoulder. It was Mac. And Lizzy. He stared at them for a moment, about to say something back to Mac, but he sauntered off to his own date. He was then left with Lizzy, who looked rather apologetic. Apologetic but... trying to see his face again. Getting close again. He was never comfortable with anyone seeing his face, but he usually put up with it if it happened. But this close? After what happened? Mot's eyes darted to the side, pretending there was no ghoul making eyes at him.
Oh, sure. He was free to talk. What else was he doing other than standing in the middle of the room in a total stupor? Nothing. "Oh, you don't need to. It's perfectly alright." Mot replied with a forced smile. Forcing himself to smile was weird. He usually just smiled naturally. All the time. But now what? He knew he would calm down eventually, but what to do in the meantime? The boil straightened out his jacket, it having been set askew from all the dancing.

Grinning at Riley, Jericho had a sort of spark in his eyes as she tugged at his fancy coat.
"Believe it or not Riley but I got this myself," he said, "I saw it and it caught my eye I guess you could say."
"As for the dancing you really didn't miss all that much. I still think I made more of a fool of myself than anything else," he chuckled, "Also.. you're looking pretty lovely today yourself. You and Mal."
