Pasa ponders this for a bit then suddenly Kero heards the sound of water falling, splashing down next to him.

"Hey, cut that out!" cries Pasura angrily. "I told ye, I'd come swim after the sun got higher in the sky... now my blanket is all wet."

Burbling laughter seems to flow away from them, inviting them both to join it.

He hears a scolding. burbling from the edge of the forest and realizes he may have included Pasa's undine friend in his drying spell.

Pasa chuckles softly. "She's been begging me to go swimming with her ever since I got up, but the water is so cold in the shade. I was waiting until the sun warmed up the little pool that Bez and the Singer dug near the stream. She doesn't understand how cold puts me to sleep... literally."

"I don't want to hurt her feelings." says Pasa defensively. "But you do have a point. It's just no matter what I tell her she has a hard time remembering it. The Singer said it's because she has such a fluid form. He says sylphs have the same trouble. And that gnomes never forget anything, but teaching them something new is rather difficult. I asked about salamanders and he said ye never want to get one mad... why's that?"

"Ouch..." laughs Pasura in a wry voice. "I think if I had to choose any magic... what I have suits me best. The book claims it is a healing magic, that it refreshes things and washes them clean. Wish I knew more about it though. It scares me silly and I don't know why."

A voice from the cave, it's one of the girls but difficult to tell which, calls them to breakfast.

Picking Kero up, Pasura drapes him about his neck and carries him back. "I wonder who cooked today... I miss Em's hot cakes. You and Rhea are both pretty decent in the kitchen... heck, you are better than decent... but his hot cakes seem to melt in the mouth."

Breakfast is more of a grab as ye can affair, with bowls of fresh fruit, and a huge platter of sausages in the center of the table. An enormous pitcher of cold milk sits next to fresh churned butter and homemade bread.

Bez is busily slicing off large slabs of bread, holding them over the fire to toast, then slathering them with butter. "Not much, I know... but it fills the hole..."

Ai is sitting at the table paring an apple, looking pensive. He looks up hopefully as Pasa enters, sees Kero draped about his neck and sighs. "He's still not all there with us, is he?" he asks patting the bench at his side.
