"Sure. I was also wondering if you would teach me another technique to practice in my spear time, like the other one you taught me." Kwubara answered quickly and hurried back into the kitchen. The answer could wait till she was done. He started to finishes up the food as one of the others came in. "How's that?" He asked as he finished making a plate of eggs and bacon. There was a burnt smell in the air from some grease that spilled out onto the burner. He would have to clean that up before he left.

Syn puffed her cheeks out and pouted as Iri looked her way.

As he slept, small spasms ran trough Ookamimaru's body,
causing his legs to make short abrubt movements,
and his upper lip to tremble, and go in a grimace.
the tip of his tail was wagging back and forth in a ritmic movement.
He dreamed he was hunting.

The Fury's expression turns stern again. She looks down to Syn with not a hint of fondness or tolerance. It's obvious that she's made her mind up about this kid. The spirit is no good to this dojo or the Academy.
"I could respect you more if you stopped playing with me. It was cute at first. And I thought you might have enough innocence left that viewing you as an enemy wasn't necessary. But what you did to Reeve tells me otherwise."
Iri pushes her chair out and stands up, never taking her eyes off of Syn.
"You're no longer welcome here. So, if you've got business with me, state it. If not, then you need to leave. Now."
Every word is stern, clear, and monotonous. And the only display of emotion is a slight reddening of Iri's cheeks as she speaks, as though she's holding back her anger. It's the most authoritative Iri has seemed to be since becoming Kaze sensei.

"Aww, why you gotta be mad at me?"
Syn pouts for a split-second before running over to Iri and huggeing her leg, cuddling with her thigh.
"It's okay Big Sis, I still love you~"
She stays latched onto the Fury's leg as long as she'll let her.
"Jii-Sama sent me to talk to you. He's worried."

The display of affection is lost on her. If anything, it's irritating her. It's all nothing but a very good act. So the moment Syn moves, the Fury tenses. And the girl only grips Iri's leg for about three seconds, because Iri reaches down and grabs the back of the girl's kimono and pulls her away so she's out of reach of her leg.
"What does Nekojiri want? I would figure there's nothing we need to discuss."

"He says that he's worried about you all, Reeve especially."
The small girl turns serious for a moment, looking down at the ground.
"He yelled at me for what I did. I heard the scary lady in wolf armor say that to him, and he calmed down. I thought it would work. He said I needed to apologize, so, I am."
She looked up to Iri, not trying to display any false emotion, only regret.
"I'm sorry, Big Sis. Jii-sama says sorry, too. He can't come out of hiding to help without bringing more badguys to you. He wanted to let you know that he'll be there to help if it gets to the point where he needs to step in, but he doesn't want to cause you any...any......fondue grief."
She nodded proudly, happy that she remembered everything perfectly.

"Worried? Really? I'm sure he is, Syn. I'm sure he's worried about his toy."
Monotonous becomes sarcastic as Iri speaks. True to the stereotype of a redhead, Iri's having trouble controlling her temper. Considering the line of BS she's being fed, can one hardly blame her? With a snort, Iri releases Syn. But not so she can hug on the Fury again.
"I don't believe any of it. I can't, as much as I would like to do so. Nekojiri's always been on top of the situation. I doubt one lost fight changed that. He knows exactly what's going on, and I'm sure he's pulling a lot of the strings. I won't pretend to really know anything about current happenings. But I do know that he can't be trusted. Nekojiri is a damn genius and very crafty, but his mind wasn't right when I last dealt with him. That's a dangerous combination. Unless he can prove to me that he's trustworthy, then he and you are threats to my home, my students, and my allies."

Syn pouted as she thought, before reaising her head back up with a worried expression.
"What could Jii-Sama do to prove he's honest? I'm pretty sure that if he wanted you harmed, you would be harmed. He's just like that."

"Doing harm doesn't necessarily come in the form of an open attack. He's got a more subtle plan, whatever that may be. I'm not so much of a threat to him that he needs to get rid of me in a hurry. But I'm sure he's trying to use my trust to his advantage. I was intrigued before. Now I'm just tired of it. As for what he can to do prove his honesty--Well, that's up to him. But I will always have reason to doubt him, so I'm afraid he's done permanent damage to my trust."
Iri irritably sighs and crosses her arms. Her patience isn't going to last much longer. She could be teaching right now. Or trying to figure out what happened to her wayward student.

The Fury gives Syn a deadpan look.
"Well, when someone's mental state seems to go out the window, it's safe to assume that they are no longer trustworthy. And mental instability is a helluva lot harder to fix than physical. That is the basis for my decision and my lack of trust. That simple enough for you? As for you, I don't think you just repeated something the armored chick said. You knew what it would do, and you had a purpose for it. I'm not stupid, Syn."

Syn sighed, shaking her head as she lost her childish demeanor and tone.
"No, just foolish. I do hope that on our next meeting we can be on better terms, Irianna. Until then, I suppose."
The subtlest movement of wind cast away Syn's form like it was fog, though her eyes still lingered on Iri for a while.

Violet eyes remain neutral. She stands there, thinking. There is still some doubt. Though Iri believes it to be her own naive nature that allows it to linger. Foolish? Maybe so. Maybe to Syn, for not just playing along or defecting from the Academy. Or was calling Syn out on what Iri believes to be a load of bull a foolish decision?
Eventually, I won't be able to avoid getting more deeply involved. I'll find out then. And probably be left thinking, 'Well, hindsight is 20/20.'
Shaking her head, Iri takes a seat and rests her elbows on her desk. If only everything were 20/20.

Iri gets up and leaves her office. Then she heads in the direction of the kitchen. She assumes that's where she'll find Kwubara. Before long, she's peeking into the kitchen, savoring the smell of bacon, and looking around inquiringly.
"Yo! You in here?"
