swordsnstars Vajapocalypse My BFF is coming down to visit in October and I get to go visit him this sunday. Oh and I will be gone from the 1st t the 9th n.n <--- Good not so secret I hate how all the girls I knew in HS are on welfare and have babies. DX It's so maddening when they shove that in my face to which my response is the same I give my family. I'm 20 years old and getting a BA. I don't need a baby. Seriously these girls just act like it'll all work out and it's like get your life straight before bringing a completely dependent life into the mix. But oh no they just rely on uncle sam to get them out of a premature choice >.< Sorry guys just hopped on myspace and was just flooded with old friends with their new babies and what not. The thing that pisses me off the most is that none of these babies are accidents. They knew they didn't have the ability to support the kids and yet they go ahead and do it anyway. Sorry but it's like bringing home a stray kitten, yes it's cute and adorable but you're going to get bored and your parent is going to be the one who picks up the slack and that's not ok especially when we live in a society where things like pregnancy are highly preventable. Hell you can go to a planned parenthood under 18 (above 16 though) and get BC practically free and lets not forget trusty condom. You can get those for FREE all you have to do is ask. Irresponsibility is a bane on our society.

I just don't think it's ok to have a kid at that age unless you have the financial ability to take care of it. Or worse shove it in people's faces like you're some responsible person who's hitting a milestone before the rest of us (not saying that's what you would do but I've been seeing that a lot lately with people I know and saw it back in HS when a girl I knew got pregnant at 17 on purpose to try and entrap her BF). confused Edit: And I did say earlier in the convo accidents are different than choosing to have a kid knowing full well that you can't afford it and will have to rely on tax payers.

D< I was like WTF did you think would happen? You're not barren. My issue is irresponsibility (which goes beyond just teen mothers. I use to work at a toy store there are a lot of terrible mothers who are not teens) and the original topic started with mothers in their early 20s who can't afford their babies. If you can support your kid working different jobs and are willing to make that sacrifice good on you.

um, i have no issue with teen mums par say. It's just all the ones i know made rather stupid choices. One girl i know got pregnant at 16 to her abusive bf who locked her in the house once and beat on her. my other friend (she was my bf for a while but moved away and came back and was into drugs and drinking under-age and sleeping with anything male) got pregnant at 17 and had her baby recently. since getting pregnant she's had 5 different bfs. the guy who is the father of her child is a junkie. she smokes around her baby and doesn't have a job or do anything with her life.
wow... i haven't been able to rant at anyone about that yet. made me feel a little better. it's just i'm worried about the kid you know cause growing up in that kinda environment can't be good.
