Lucinda woke up about 20 minutes after that. She slowly sat up and looked over at where the other two were sitting.

Renatus turned around when he heard Lucinda move. HE waved at her smiling.

Lucinda smiled at him and walked over to them. "what's cooking?" she asked.

"Good question." Renatus said. He turned to Alara.
"Swamp eel." Alara responded.
Renatus licked his lips. "Wow it's been a long time since I had that." he said smiling

Lucinda had never had something like that before, but it smelled good. It was worth a try at least. She sat down next t Renatus.

Alara spun the sticks that the meat were on. Inspecting each piece's tenderness with a utensil. "How did you two meet?" she asked looking at Lucinda.

"We came around a corner and ran into each other," Lucinda replied, smiling crookedly.

Alara looked confused. She had expected a much different story than that.
Renatus nodded laughing slightly. "Strange how we got here huh." he said facing Lucinda.

Alara shrugged. She pulled the sticks out of the fire and handed one to Renatus and to Lucinda. "Here's to you two, and your bravery in saving me." she said acting as if she was proposing a toast.
Renatus smiled and nodded. He took a bite out of his nostalgic meal.

"How do you like it?" Renatus said pulling a string of meat of the stick. He swallowed. "I used to eat this when my father and I went hunting." he said smiling.

Renatus smiled and laughed quietly. He took another bite of his eel. "Where are we going next." Renatus asked Lucinda, turning to look at her. He had exploited his old home enough recently.
