"If we could create a weapon to be used in the human world... then nobody would have to hold back... Everyone could 'go all out' without having to fear for human loss of life."
Marco then experienced something he hadn't in a while. A faint explosion went off somewhere inside him, reigniting the fading and forgotten passion for science Marco had once possessed. An inexplicable wave of emotion passed over him as yet another almost forgotten sentiment came to life. Hope. With these two new fuels to fuel the furnace that drove him, Marco reached once again into his still seemingly superfluous amount of thought.
"Of course, for the parabolic focusing effect to work properly, we will need to find out how much reaitsu the geode can handle before stressing it too far. Then adjust the size accordingly... which would change the focal point..."
Marco merely thought out loud in chopped and broken thoughts as his mind worked faster than his mouth, hoping that Charles would be able to decipher a new 'code' that Marco seemed to be speaking. On top of speaking what he could of his thoughts while processing his next sentence, he enjoyed the creativity he and Charles shared. The amount of openness he had with his ideas was also intriguing; Charles didn't seem to be hindered as much as Marco would have thought by his emotional explosion.

When Tenshu saw he was too late he stopped running and pushed off of his toes and slid back a few feet, he heard Sho's screams of pain and was now enraged. He watched as Sho got up and he attacked the Arrancar, he knew for a fact Sho wouldn't last long enough on his own for him to get the Captain and come back. So he ran toward the Arrancars far left, still keeping his distance from it. He knew that all of his attacks would have little or no effect on this Arrancar, but he had to try hand help Sho hold him off until Captain Evil arrives. He was hoping that the reiatsu from Sho, the Arrancar, and himself would be a clue to the Captain that we need help. "Not a chance Sho, you won't be able to hold him off for that long..." Tenshu pointed his index finger at the Arrancar's left rib cage. I know this won't harm him much but it's pretty much all I have. "Hado #4 Byakuri." A concentrated bolt of lightning shot out of his finger and fired towards the Arrancars left rib cage.

Charles nods at both ideas, his mind running a little faster. This sort of research is not his preference, but the zeal Marco shows is infectious. "First we would need to diffuse raw reiatsu and then identify each version's resonance. A slight tweak might be all that is needed to render an attack harmless to specific archetypes . . ."
When Marco jumps to the geode refractor, Charles manages to follow seamlessly into that conversation as well. "The focus, I forgot about that. Perhaps a naturally occurring geode would not work. We need the crystals to line up so perhaps we should build it . . . The focal point! I forgot about that. Well, with the beams focused on one point in a general direction-" Charles' hand begins to refine the drawing of his dish, including a lens at the new focal point, supported by a long arm off the bottom rather than several points that could interfere with incoming beams.
"-the crystal foci would have to be adjusted, but could make for an interesting effect. What if different hadō were used? It would be an odd effect if hadō 11 and 88 were used at the same time, converged in the lens, and fired . . ."

Marco thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with Charles investigating this new theory. Partly because of the fact they were weaponizing reaitsu in a whole new way, and partly because Charles was able to follow up Marco's thoughts with some of his own. And because Marco was able to finally break down the dam that held back his creativity in order to further his physical capabilities for battle, He found himself pacing back and forth furiously; gesticulating in all directions as if talking to a large crowd of people, while continuously expanding on the new theory.
Before Marco could say anymore, he remembered his past experiences with experimentation. Only this time, he wasn't dealing with a simple addiction... he was tampering with weaponry. Reaitsu tends to be much more explosive than his previous projects, and even though he made his grenades without too much incident, this was much bigger. Suddenly cautious, Marco took a step back.
"Maybe we should test some of these ideas before we start combining different hadō..." Marco had stopped pacing and looked Charles in the face. "I just realized that we still are in somewhat of a hollow infested area..." Marco did a quick sweep of the area, not seeing anything too threatening... "You see anything?"

Watching Marco pace, Charles feels the difference between them. Marco is animate, passionate, and excited. Charles feels calm, enthusiasm without movement, and lets his thoughts race on their own. Still, political problems aside, they seem to mesh well enough together. When Marco points out caution, the newer shimigami merely smiles and nods. "This is all in theory. We need to experiment and study all this before it can be practically applied."
Upon the reminder of their being in a war zone, Charles blinks several times. It is like a slap in the face to remind him of reality. His notes came alive for him, the conversation all-consuming, and the brainstorming blotting out all else in his mind. Now he is forced to wonder what is going on. The battle seems to be raging, but it is farther away now. Hollows are around, but none have come to bother the pair yet. Without thinking Charles pockets his pencil and puts the book away and rises. Standing under his tree, he looks around and mumbles barely audible enough for Marco to hear.
"Perhaps we should find a better place to conduct our studies? I don't see any brave hollows, but that could change. Just because I prefer to avoid a fight against an army doesn't mean I can't handle the odd hollow- the theories are just a hell of a lot more fun."

"Well, we could go back to the makeshift base we have... It might be a little cluttered though." Marco now noticed that he had been pacing unconsciously... he looked down and saw a tract of grass flattened down in a circle around him.
Why is it that when I'm in a heated battle, I can keep a level head, but when it comes to a passion for anything else, I totally lose my composure? I guess it doesn't hurt anything... as long as I can still come up with decent ideas, my battle style and power keeps improving, and I have people like Charles to keep me company.
Marco realized that he was, yet again, in his head. He tore himself from his all-consuming thoughts and looked back at Charles. "Like I said before, I'm just supposed to make sure you stay safe. For the moment, you are. So I'm fine here as long as I keep an eye out. We can go back to 'base' if you want."

Sho's prediction was head on about a second attack, Horatio followed up with an uppercut punch with his left arm but it was blocked by the Bakudo barrier. He was ill prepared for the Ryu Bengo however, the attack did little to his already aflame armor but the force behind the fireballs pushed back Horatio a few feet, then the Bayakuri of Tenshu's struck causing Horatio to stagger a bit uneasily with a tinging sensation vibrating through his upper torso. Regaining himself Horatio stood firmly in a neutral stance, in a low grunt, the atmostphere and temperature suddenly dropped back down to normal, the flames that burned on Horatio's armored carapace faded. The plates of teethlike bone that formed the muzzle mask of Horatio's opened so that he could speak. "Not bad... Not bad you two... I came here curious and bored, You've not kept me dissapointed. Ophelia! We're done here, Finish up and lets collect our prize and move out!""Another time you two..." Horatio raised out both his arms aimed at Sho and Tenshu, a volley of bala were in order. Half a dozen of bala erupted from Horatio's palms and few in curve fashion out at Sho and Tenshu, if either of them noticed, the bala would all surely miss, they were meant to miss. The bala's eruption against the ground would cause a kick in the soil and dust to cloud the vision. Horatio dissappeared again, only to search out Charles and Marco. Only to reappear again not too far from the pair.

Sho covers his face as the bala's come in and hit the ground around him. When the dust and dirt clear, the Arrancar is gone. Sho drops to his knee's. The pain in his shoulder and arm were too much for him. He looks up at Tenshu and says, "We are done here ... let's get out of here and back to the cave. I need to get fixed up and we need to talk with Evil-San. You fought well my friend and it's time to take you to the next level. You saved my life and I want to thank you ...." Sho stabs his Zanpakutou into the ground and uses it as a cane to get up. Once on his feet he says to Tenshu, "Lead the way my friend back to the cave and watch for any hollows ... "

Tenshu ran over to help Sho, he felt that if he were faster he would have been able to save Sho from the broken arm. He put Sho's uninjured arm over his neck and wrapped his arm his body for support to walk. "Thank you Sho, lets go." Tenshu helped him walk back to the cave slowly and carefully, so he would not hurt Sho. He could help but wonder....Next Level...

Charles smiles softly. Despite the rough start, complete with an embarassing yelling at a superior officer, Marco might well turn out to be a good friend. When he first got here, he had thought that this might have been a mistake. After this mental meeting though, Charles finds himself eager for more. Perhaps squad 12 won't be so bad after all. With some facilities, he might even be able to answer his own questions with the cover of actual work for others. That thought brings a faint smile to his face only because he doesn't want to look too shifty just yet.
Looking around at how they have been left alone for so long, he shrugs to Marco. "We've been left alone for a while, this place seems safe enough. Then again, you have the experience here. Sooner or later it is right that we will be noticed. Cramped or not, a home base might be nice. Perhaps we can begin to gather information or . . . supplies . . . to . . . "
Charles' words began to trail off as a rather unsettling event happened. Not far from them, an opponent that far outshines his own ability to repel appears. One of the Arrancar- Horatio, appears not far away. Charles remembers vividly this one as the enemy that he shook hands with and is not sure how to deal with this. Neither Marco nor he is likely to last long against this one. Judging by the reaction earlier, Charles' companion is not going to react well to this, and of course there is the nagging 'why.' Why is Horatio appearing here . . . now? All that Charles can do is realize he is ready to move and utter a familiar word at this unexpected- and likely painful turn of events.
"Crap."

Opehlia's ears twitched when she heard Horatio call her. She bared her fangs at Kuuri and laughed. She flipped her tail, so that it slammed in the ground, creating a small fissure that went right for him.
"Fine. I'm coming. I'll just leave a little present for this hamburger here." She muttered darkly.
She built up the electricity within her, as well as her Hollow Energy, disengaging her Capa Imponente to do so. She glowed with energy, it becoming almost blinding.
She laughed, throwing back her head as the energy she built up exploded from her, aiming to smash right on Kuuri.
It was a mix of her electricity and Cero power, the blast crackling and snapping, roasting the ground it passed above.
Opehlia took the chance to art to where Horatio was. She had a smug grin on her face and she was a little sweaty, giving her long, tangled black hair a greasy look.

Marco felt another presence, and along with Charles' statement and startled countenance... Marco was able to deduce that an enemy had appesared somewhere nearby. He lazily pivoted on one foot to face this newly found opponent.
"Well... Ello love." Marco said with his best British british accent, (which was pretty good) to mess with the arrancar. "Are you here to fight... or would you rather sit and have a nice, plesant talk? We could sort some problems out about your childhood if you would like. I have come to think of myself as a pretty good therapist for soul devouring monsters. No offense."
Marco spoke with condescension and sarcasm, hoping to antagonize the arrancar to the point of making the first move. "If you really are here to talk, then I apologize. My name is Dominik deMarco, call me Marco if you want. And you are...?"

[I got this...]
Kuuri growled, before jumping towards the attack... "Cero.. Plus Ressurecion... This IS GONNA BE FUN!!" He screamed, heading directly towards it. with a blurring lunge.. A large wave of spiritual pressure seemed to fold in, and collapse on its way towards Kuuri's body, growing speed as it formed in on him.. his body blurred horribly, but not due to speed.. merely in sight, due to his pressure build-up.... Kuuri's blurred, mirage-like body sent forth a flying, heavy-based kick...The cero was struck with his compressed spiritual pressure wave, his body no longer a mirage as he shot out his signature technique... A Heat-Wave beam flew from his charging body, about twice the height of him, with a two yard width.... He held himself stable, and ready for what was to come as the attacks collided, his own merely matching the cero..... He was in a power-struggle at the moment, the arrancar's cero slowly making its way through his beam, and dissintegrating it foot by foot... A sudden surge signaled the cero's consumption.... It was like a large marble, stuck in the throat of the beam, before it was shot back, scorching the ground and creating a large moat.....
It went out as far as the eye could see, knocking trees and other objects back.... Kuuri suddenly fell, his body stopping its blur state... He faded into his normal appearance, huffing and panting up and down, a small smile on his face as he sincerely waved at the Arrancar... debris slowly floated around him, his pressure distorting the environment in the immediate area... "I had fun.. Come back again sometime, kay!!"
