“Really now. That’s not how you greet a person.” RoChan lightly scolded the red and white haired raevan. She was about to tease him some more when the feeling of a cold, hard stare was directed towards her. The previous time she had ignored it, this time, however, the dragon looked up to see where it was coming from. It was the lovely kitty girl from the paint war! RoChan gave her a curious glance but decided against further pursuit of what it could have meant when Rivener came up.

“Hmph. I seem to never have good luck with cats.” She idly commented before turning to the very handsome bartender. She felt her heart skip a beat and found it difficult to come to a coherent thought about what she should order. The blue haired woman could feel her cheeks blush in the dim light as she just stared at him. Only when a girl came up to the bar did RoChan’s thoughts collected and reminded her what she was doing.

“Ah, you should probably take care of her first.” RoChan managed to formulate before giving the black haired male a pretty smile. She was thankful for the darkness of the evening and though the bar was well lit, surely it would hide her obvious lusty gaze... right? ‘I need a moment to compose myself so I don’t look like an utter idiot!’ After her brief mental pep talk RoChan turned to the woman who had complained about her headache. The dragon felt a bit of pity for the woman's circumstance simply because she herself hated the irritating illness. “Do you need any medicine? I think I might have something in my Marry Poppins bag.” She kindly offered with an amused smile holding up the gaudy looking beach bag.

Yuurei looked over and stared blankly at the woman who just spoke to her. She tried to look through the red and white raevan next to her, but found, to her chagrin, that solid opaque objects were difficult to see through. Leaning forward, her large boobs resting on the bar, Yuurei examined the woman and tried to remember what she had said. She couldn't think through the throbbing headache. If only she had brought some medicine. Medicine? Hadn't that been what the lady offered? "My dear, you are a saint." She placed her hand on Lazarus's shoulder as she steadied herself on her two feet and walked between RoChan and Laz. "Medicine would be amazing! I don't care if it ties me up, makes me pass out, and takes advantage of me. As long as I can't feel my head pounding anymore." She tried to smile at the woman as she joked, vaguely realizing that RoChan may not have the same sense of humor as she did.

David felt uneasy as the duo walked up to the lighted bar, his heavy fingers still interlaced with Ebony's svelte ones. Yes, his hand felt incredibly heavy now as if they were representing his conscience. Ever since they had made contact, departing from the beach quietly, David had refused to make eye contact with her, knowing full well she would be the only person other than Namini to be able to instinctively pick up on his shady motives. She's just another hopeful customer right? he asked himself coldly, knowing the answer was wavering. Instinctively, as this question burned its sharp corners deeper and deeper in the veterinarian's mind, he squeezed her hand tightly. This..was a bad situation. And just as quickly as he had shown his new companion this softer side of himself, David suddenly dropped his hand and escaped her grip. It was painful but necessary.

Once his hand returned to their previous coldness, David felt confident he could continue this romantic act. Reaching into the counter, his searching hands pulled back a scrap of paper and a pen. Scribbling his name and number, he bashfully offered it to Ebony, truly unsure of what her response would be. She had become very quiet, disturbingly quiet compared to her previous attitude, "Here. Drop me a line even if you still think I'm out of your league, kay?" Hopefully these few drops of humor would bring her back to him.

And just as she hadn’t realized she’d been holding David’s hand, Ebony hadn’t realized they’d came to the bar again until his hand slipped from hers. Her slated gaze moved to the now empty hand, still warm from his touch. The fingers flexed slightly as if pondering why it was so light now. She frowned, yet she wasn’t sure whether it was because of her conflicting feelings or because she was upset that he’d let go. This, she concluded, did not bode well whatever the reasons were.

“Hmm?” The offering of the paper suddenly snapped her out of her trance and Ebony came back to reality. His words did indeed bring her back to herself as she smirked smugly, taking the paper and slipping it into her bikini top of all places. She could have just as easily put it in her pocket, but she preferred this way as to tease David even more than she’d already had. Despite all the drama of the day, perhaps they could part ways in a more spirited manner of sorts. “We’ll see. But I wouldn’t hold my breathe if I were you, Love.” purred the British woman.

((Beach Bar >> Exit for both.))

Finally! A sign of life! David broke out into a flawless smirk of his own, his eyes rejoicing, laughing, as he nodded in understanding, a comeback impossible. He didn't like associating with gloomy people and so, he was absolutely thankful when his lovely acquaintance beamed with flirtatiousness once again. David would take this small blow in exchange for Ebony's rejuvenation. It wasn't even that much of an exchange either, as he happily watched the woman slip the note into her bosom. Seemed as if he were reaping the most rewards.

Laughing aloud at this thought, his grey eyes flickered over a trio of teens a further down the bar curiously. One looked quite old for a teen with his frazzled white and brown hair,; quite old and quite serious, a seemingly permanent scowl etched into his features. Beside him were two girls, brunettes, opposites. One had fraying smooth hair, flipped out around her face and a smug look to her. David frowned. The girl in the middle was a curly-haired brunette with soft -- Namini, damn. David hardened his stare before letting out a low whistle that would only be familiar to his sister.

Instinctively and predictably, Namini turned her head at the call and awkwardly made eye contact with her brother. Where had he come from?! An utter look of surprise stuck on her face, David sighed and then motioned her to go. Was it really necessary, leaving so soon? Namini looked upwards and took note of the growing darkness. Yes, it was. Releasing a saddened sigh of her own, Namini turned to Isi and then to Lillian, a bittersweet smile on her lips, "I'm sorry to interrupt but it looks like I have to go. It was really nice seeing the both of you again!"

With that she made her departure, joining David's side as he headed towards the parking lot. Namini even managed a sweet goodbye wave to the violet-haired girl she barely knew. Looking up at the heart wrenching stars, Namini continued to smile as she entered the passenger's seat. David yawned, throwing the keys in and slipping his seat belt on. It had been a long day and he believed he had even received a sunburn. As they drove away from the event, the girl mumbled sleepily, a yawn escaping her own mouth, "Next time, we'll have our own Raevan to play with too, huh David?"

The man fell silent, replacing his voice with the radio.

((Beach Bar))

A single dark brow raised in curiosity towards the man as his face broke out into a big smile before suddenly letting loose a hearty laugh. Obviously he’d been thinking of something quite amusing just then, maybe about her? ‘Well, I did stuff a piece of paper in my top so it was probably something perverted.’ This pleased her more than it should have, as Ebony often didn’t like men thinking of her like some sex object. Yet, seeing as she’d purposely done the move to mess with David, she was pleased to know that she had some power over him. And gods know how much Ebony loves having power.

She watched in silence as the man called for his sister in an odd manner of which she responded, the two soon making their way towards the parking lot. When the younger girl had given her a small happy sort of wave, Ebony blinked and returned the wave with a small one of her own. The Brit hadn’t expected the girl to acknowledge her after the small encounter earlier, let alone be smiling towards her brother so soon. Indeed, the siblings vexed her utterly.

Ebony sat down at the bar once more, making note of the others there. Two women, RoChan speaking with some older looking red and white Raevan and another woman she’d yet to met making an order with the barkeep. She noticed Isikoro not too far away with a look on his face that always seemed perpetually there and it was directed to another girl whom she’d not meet. The girl did seem familiar though; perhaps she’d seen her at another lab function. Of course it wasn’t really a matter if she had or not, Ebony was just hoping the girl wasn’t bothering Isi too much. Though it wasn’t her place to come to the boy’s aid, not that she’d expect him to welcome it really, the violet-haired woman felt compelled to. She made no move from her seat at the bar though, yet merely gave the younger male a friendly wave.

[[Storyfire]]

Rivener was doing his best not to blush or appear flustered as the firelight played in Lucia's eyes, casting the most wonderful shade of magenta into the purple eyes. Thankfully, her strange comment was enough to distract him for a moment. "Star-shaped-? Oh, ah, I don't think it's actually shaped like a star. It's just a really powerful camera that can look REALLY far and take pictures of stars." He smiled. That was a strange way to interpret the "star camera" thing, but he supposed it made sense if you didn't really know much about the world yet. Lucia must be REALLY new as a Raevan.

For a moment after they sat rather quietly by the flames. Riv was just about to comment on how pretty the fire was, when Lucia echoed his thoughts exactly. He grinned and nodded, suddenly wondering if she was secretly asking for him to say that SHE was pretty.

Too bashful to say so, Riv just cleared his throat and glanced to the side with a smirk, running a hand through his hair. "Yes, it is quite pretty." He opened his mouth to say something else, thought better of it, and just sat up straight, dropping his hands and trying to focus on the story with a slight smile.

((Storytime))

Lucia giggled at Rivener. "You don't have a very good memory, do you? I forgot to tell you that that's what I thought you meant at first. But you already told me what a star camera is." She smiled at him, teasingly.

Lucia stared, transfixed by the flames. When the scorpion frei mimicked her comment on the fire, she turned to him and smiled. She ran her fingers through her own hair and looked at his hands, studying the rings she had only just seen him wearing. "Those are pretty," she said as she took a finger and traced the shape of the ring on his left middle finger -- her fingertip moving softly along it's edge, occasionally brushing his fingers or hand.

She wasn't paying much attention to the story, but instead focused on the amazing fire (a thing she had not yet seen in the summer weather), and the first person she was able to connect to, even if she didn't really know anything about him yet. She paused, reflecting on how he had to leave her at the limbo contest. "You left the limbo too soon. I hit the bar with my chest and fell down." She paused remembering his reason for leaving her. "Is . . . umm . . . Aphismet? I think his name is? Is Aphismet okay?"

(( Beach bar --> leave? (he didn't know that he was signed up for the storytelling since Meli signed him up) // Beach bar ))

Lazarus raised an eyebrow at RoChan's comment. How should one greet a person then? Laz wondered. But whatever, Lazarus was worn out beyond words today and now he just wanted to go home. Then he saw the pretty Raevan he was ogling at before went down to the bonfire on the beach with Rivener. Perhaps she's Rivener's new girlfriend? He was a little bummed that he didn't got a chance to say hi, but there's always next time.

As he took another sip from his drink another woman sat down beside him. And Laz couldn't help but stare when he noticed her bust size. It was... MASSIVE!! But exerting self control, he managed to peel his eyes off and focused his eyes on his cup instead. Staring isn't very polite. When he noticed the two ladies conversing from both sides of him, he felt uncomfortable, like he is a barrier of sorts. So taking his drink with him, he floated away. "Excuse me, ladies."

"Oh dear." Kyou sympathize Yuurei, pouring her a cup of clear water. "Here, take this with the medicine."

He didn't notice RoChan's weird gazes however. Turning towards RoChan, he gave her a polite smile. "It's very kind of you to offer her medicine. Would you want something yourself too?" he asked again, since she didn't ordered anything just now.

((Beach Bar > Exit))

The cool night breeze blew gently through her violet colored hair. It was surprising next to the heated day they had though not unwelcomed. Ebony savored in the relief, threading slender digits through still slightly wet strands. ‘David…’ she thought with a smile. Pulling the scrap of paper from her bikini top, the British woman contemplated whether she would contact the man again. It was decided when she placed the paper in her pocket for safer keeping. If anything else, the Asian would provide more entertainment.

Ebony slide off her stool and stretched. It was about time she headed home, as the festivities seemed to be dying down anyway. She’d wanted to make a bigger donation for the Lab, but realized just then that she was without her checkbook. All she had was some petty cash, which was still soaking in some salty seawater in her wallet. That irritated, yet all too familiar nose-scrunch occupied her face then. It wouldn’t be right to just leave without giving something in return, especially since she’d been crashing in on a few of their events lately. But what could she offer? What would the doctor accept? Her “services?” Certainly not, besides Ebony couldn’t see the doctor wanting her to steal things for him. Nor did she really want him or anyone else in the Lab knowing of her nighttime excursions. But maybe it didn’t have to be her services, yet rather her skills.

Grabbing her own scrap of paper, Ebony scribbled down her name and a number. She slipped it in front of the makeshift barkeep as discretely as she could. “Please contact me if ever you should need someone to help with attaining certain experimental materials Doctor. Day or night, I’d be glad to help. And please be expecting a large donation soon. I’ll give the check to Aphismet for delivery as soon as possible.” And with that, the woman turned and left without allowing the man to respond, let alone decline.

[[Storytime Bonfire]]

Rivener blinked and looked over at the cat-girl. He HAD said this before? Furrowing his brow and thinking back, Riv had to admit that he'd just been a big idiot. Guh, why couldn't he think straight around this person? Sighing, he had to force a sheepish grin on his face. "I forgot. Sorry... Too much stuff going around today I guess. Hard to keep track of what I said..."

Rivener's voice croaked to a stop as Lucia began tracing his rings with a finger, sometimes brushing his skin. There was a warm feeling creeping up the Scorpion's cheeks, and he was pretty sure it wasn't the bonfire this time. Clearing his throat and looking away (but leaving his hands where they were so that his new friend could see the rings if she wanted), Riv tried to think of something to say. ...Nothin' came to mind.

Lucia's change of subject didn't help matters much. Speaking so flippantly about the limbo contest and her chest brought back images of the girl showing him exactly how far back she could bend, displaying her... Riv's blush reached critical mass and he suddenly thought I gotta get outta here!

Just as he was about to get up and make up some kind of excuse, Lucia changed the topic again, this time to something a lot more comfortable. Riv let out a relieved breath, although he wasn't quite back to normal just yet. A little nervous still, he attempted to answer coherently. "A-Aphismet is fine. He just um... he wanted to talk to me a bit and just find out how the day was so far." Of course he was lying, but as always, he was doing it with all the skill and believability of a top actor. They were, after all, his teachers. "He's fine."

"What about you, where's your Guardian? I don't think I've seen him or her yet..."

((Storytime Bonfire))

Lucia's eyes teased Rivener, though she didn't say anything more to bait him. She eyed him, completely relaxed around the raevan once more. "You're just getting distracted by my looks," she smiled and struck a pose. Her hand rested palm up on the underside of her chin, she looked towards the sky while batting her eyelashes; and then suddenly she burst into giggles. Just teasing him, she was hoping she might be even brushing the truth, but didn't know for sure. Lucia didn't mention that she should be the one embarrassed because she thought she was bringing up her own mistake that she had shared with him earlier (though she had kept the idea to herself).

She continued to study his rings, both visually and with her fingers, tracing each one on his left hand, even after they had both fallen silent. For Lucia it was a comfortable silence, something she was used to. It vaguely occurred to her that this was really the first time she had touched the raevan. He had kissed her wing, she hadn't done anything there. But she was comfortable with the contact, his skin warm in the cool air.

She was a little surprised when he didn't laugh at her about falling, or bemoan his missed picture, but ignored his silence on the subject. "Yuurei . . . umm . . ." Lucia looked around, thinking about her guardian for the first time since she abandoned her for the fire. She spotted the shiny gold bikini and long blonde hair at the bar and she rolled her eyes. "She's over at the bar." Lucia raised the hand that wasn't still absentmindedly playing with Rivner's rings and pointed over towards her guardian.

She looked at Rivener, hoping to change the subject away from Yuurei and her embarrassing behavior and eccentricities. She yawned and giggled, shaking in a small fit of laughter. She realized she was really hungry and getting silly as a result. "So what did you tell Aphismet?" Lucia asked her bright purple eyes looking into his red ones. "Did you have a good day?" Both her closed-lip mouth and her eyes smiled at him warmly.

“Well then…” Lillian’s eyes grew dark as they drew over the crippled lad. “I guess you don’t smile when you see yourself in the mirror then.” That was all she said then, for her attention was turned back to Namini. As the night drew on and people began to make their leave, Lillian waved goodbye to the young Namini as she too hurried off with her brother. That left her and the grumpy runt alone, with no one to try and keep them at peace.

But their little tournament of name calling and scoffing had to be cut short before it could truly begin. Lillian had taken a look at her phone just after Namini left and the time read too late to have Tyson out and about.

Slowly she swung the bags she brought to the summer fling over her arms and gave Isi a look that matched more along the lines of amusement rather than anger. “I’ll be seeing you later pipsqueak. Try not to blow a fuse while I’m away and look up better things to say as comebacks for next time. Seriously, your answers today were pretty weak.” With that being said, Lillian spun upon her heels and took off to find Tyson.

It didn’t take her long to locate the boy. She found him a foot deep already in dreamland. By the looks of it, it was taking all the strength Tyson had within him to remain leaning upon a wooden sign. Occasionally he would tilt to the left, and then to the right; unable to truly keep his bearings as he half dozed while trying to hold onto the trophy he had won.

“Come on you.” Lillian whispered as she reached out and grasped her little brother’s shoulders, steadying him “Let’s get you home.” After a few nudges and groans, the boy trudged forth with his sister leading him from behind. Slowly she led him away from the beach , up and over the sand dune, and finally to the road where they awaited the taxi cab.

“Have a good time?” Lillian asked when she saw the headlights of their cab come into view.

The boy reached up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes before he met his sister’s with a very sleepy look. “Mmf…y-yeah….” Tyson mumbled. His body fell against Lil’s as his legs grew weak. “It was…fun….We did…g-goo…good.” From there Lillian loaded up the sleeping boy into the car and instructed the driver to take them home. Lillian was glad to say that It was a good time at the beach. They were able to relax and get away from their current worries. It was something that they had been needing for awhile now, and at last it had come.

((Bonfire -> Exit))

Niksia enjoyed the crackle of the bonfire, the warmth of it taking some of the night chill away. The story seemed to have come to a halt, but the atmosphere was still pleasant. Between the paintball and the eating contest most of the people left were probably exhausted. Even the limbo had left her personally tired and a little sore in places. As it grew darker though the air became even colder and the little outfit Niksia wore was no match for the night.

Shivering gently, she curled her red scarf around her bare shoulders to ward off some of the growing goosebumps. It wasn't really enough though and the redhead was looking forward to lying in her bed with the covers to her chin.

With a gentle stretch she stood, brushing some of the sand off that had attempted to collect on her skirt. Niksia offered those still by the fire a little wave, trying not to disturb those who seemed caught up in their own conversations. Then it was time to make her way across the chill sand and back home.

Rivener turned and blushed as Lucia seemed to see right through him. Distracted by her- Ah, she was making a joke. The Scorpion breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled. "I admit it would be easy to get distracted by that..."

Was he flirting again? The blush on his face was hidden as he turned to look at the bar, scouring the place for Lucia's guardian. It was also a welcome distraction from the cat-Raevan's fingers gliding along his rings. Riv noticed the blonde woman and raised an eyebrow. She didn't seem... Well, he shouldn't judge. She was Lucia's guardian and that was all there was to it.

Lucia's subsequent question took Rivener by surprise and he blinked over at her, pondering for a moment. Finally he smiled softly, looking into the fire with a soft expression. "You know what? I did. I had a great day."

"Rivener!" Aphismet called, waving for his charge from near the pie-eating table. "Riv, we're going, okay? It's getting late!"

Aphismet then informed Isi of this, and smiled as he ruffled the younger Delaran's hair.

Riv sighed and shrugged at Lucia, a corner of his lips lifting. "Well, I have to go it seems. I'm really happy I met you, Lucia." Without thinking, Riv leaned over and pecked a kiss on Lucia's cheek, as Pasha had. "See you again sometime?" Feeling his cheeks flush slightly, Riv floated up and away to Aphi's side, the two of them heading towards the parking lot.
