Crenu watched as his Poliwag was snatched up by the Gengar's psychic hold. He feebly twitched around, but there was nothing he could do. Crenu said nothing for even if he told Poliwag to brace himself he wouldn't be able to move a muscle. All he could do was wait for the attack to be done. Poliwag seemed to accept this as well as all he could do was close his eyes as he got smashed into the ground. Poliwag appeared to flatten as he hit the pavement, regaining his former shape with a bit of a bounce. An attack with this kind of power was not quite in Crenu's calculations, he was goiong to have to make his move now, assuming of course that Poliwag had it in himself to at least stand after that. "Get up Poliwag, you aren't through yet. I need one last attack from you and that's it. Get up and gather all the energy you can." The rain was still falling from overhead and was washing over Poliwag's body. The constant wetness helped a bit as Poliwag stood back up after that savage attack. He nearly fell again, but was able to use his tail to lean back on as he looked on. He was standing at an angle, his breathing was rough and his vision was getting fuzzy, but Poliwag wasn't oput yet. Another attack like that, hell even a gust of wind, and he'd be done. But for right now he did all he could as he waited and started gathering energy in his body.

Keegan smiled when Flannery's Camerput was finally taken out, leaning back in his seat as he watched her release her Torkoal. You got this in the bag Kas, now finish her!" he thought, wondering what they would do after the match was over. He knew they would probably need to head back to Slateport, but first they'd have to stop over in Mauville to pick up Kasiya's bike. He wondered just how many people would be at this Beach Party anyway, and he kind of figured there'd be all sorts of battles going on. The redhead glanced up over his shoulder at his parents again in a questioning manner, and was surprised to see them both return the gesture. His mother smiled and nodded at him, while his father's usually stoic face was wearing an uncharacteristic smile. This caused Keegan to smile too, and as he looked towards Kasiya and Digger. he couldn't wait to see the smile on her face when he handed her the Charmander egg. This thought also gave way for another thought, and Keegan leaned over towards Mike.
"Speaking of which," he said somewhat randomly, "a certain motherly Charizard would like a visit from her baby boy sometime soon," he said with a nod. After all, he had promised to pass on the message. ===== Nosepass began to spin rapidly as the flames engulfed it, but the spin did little to lessen the damage. Roxanne shook her head, knowing it was over now. "Okay Nosepass, give 'em one last hurrah! You know what to do." Roxanne closed her eyes and smiled. It had been a long time since she'd had a battle like this one.
Even as its trainer spoke Nosepass began to spin again, this time faster and faster than before. Slowly its body began to give of a white glow which grew brighter and brighter, finally peaking before Nosepass detonated - Explosion.

((Squee! *dances in circles* )) Digger let out a grunt when he smashed into Torkoal, its newly boosted defense blocking out a lot of the potential damage. However, the Sandslash had no intentions of giving up just yet and he quickly pivoted around for the return strike, feeling his momentum pick up. Pokemon of his species were very adept at using their bodies like this so the attack felt quite natural. Plus the feel of his spines digging into the earth to help him pick up speed made him feel like an unstoppable wheel of destruction. Destruction was nice.
Out of the corner of her eye Kasiya saw Keegan's parents smiling, and it made her feel a bit more at ease. If she was going to have some sort of relationship with Keegan, it would help to know that his parents liked her, at the very least.
Torkoal hunkered down as the Sandslash came around and struck her again, grunting from the impact. It definitely hurt more than the first time! It was time to put a stop to all this Rollout nonsense but she wasn't sure how. The tortoise tossed a glance over her shoulder at Flannery - now would be a good time to impart some tactical wisdom!
"It's okay Torkoal," Flannery told the Pokemon. "Give him your Body Slam! Throw him off course!" If Kasiya wanted to play that way, then she could too. Torkoal ducked back inside the shell and spun around a few times before taking aim at Digger as he came back around for a third pass. Torkoal then rocketed forward, propelled by a jet of fire that streamed behind him as the shell-missile headed for the oncoming Sandslash.
=-=-=-=-= "Say what?" Jaeshan took a careful step back as the Nosepass began to spin and glow, but it was too late to do anything by the time he realized what was happening. Shelgon could only close her eyes and brace for impact, not having enough time to throw up a Protect to shield herself. Jaeshan slammed his palms over his ears but it did little to drown out the intense boom that followed Nosepass' Explosion, and a thick smoke covered the battlefield. Jaeshan frowned and tried to peer into the smoke, wondering if Shelgon was able to withstand the attack.
A few agonizing moments passed and the smoke began to clear. Jaeshan immediately spotted Nosepass, looking completely out of it. Nearby was Shelgon; her thick hide looking a bit charred and blackened in places but she was still standing. When she saw her trainer she let out a triumphant roar and made her way over to him, stomping her feet proudly at her victory. "Thank goodness," Jaeshan sighed, wrapping his arms around the large, round dragon. "You did great!"

Keegan watched Digger with keen interest, trying to recall if Kasiya had told him where she'd captured it. He vaguely remembered something about Team Rocket and Kasiya trying to take down the whole base by herself but the details were a little fuzzy. Regardless of how she'd come to acquire the Sandslash it wasn't a bad thing. It had an advantage over Torkoal and if he remembered correctly the thing knew Earthquake. I think she's just toying with Flannery now... he thought, frowing. A part of him was happy to watch her battle but the other part just wanted her to finish it already. ==== "Well, it was a last resort," Roxanne said with a shrug before recalling her Nosepass. "Congratulations, Jaeshan," she said, stepping down off of her platform and walking towards him. "You bested me and have earned my Stone Badge." Upon reaching the victorious trainer she held out her hand. In her palm glittered the sparkling new badge, and with it she also gave Jaeshan his prize money as well as a TM. "This TM contains Rock Tomb. As you already know, it lowers the opponent's speed along with causing damage. Use it wisely," she added before stepping back to allow Jaeshan to celebrate his win. It was obvious Jaeshan was a lot more experienced than he looked, and she figured that he either had already earned a handful of badges from another region or was a late-starter when it came to the Hoenn set. Either way she knew he'd breeze through the next few gyms at this rate.

The boy felt his ankles get a little chilly thanks to that Icy Wind, but it was at least a nice breeze. A smirk appeared on his face as the attack did almost no damage to his Flareon. However, he didn't like the idea of Aerial Ace being used. Kilik winced when the attack connected. He clenched his fist. This battle was going to be cake. Flareon had an advantage against both of the opponents. He was pretty sure Heracross was the bigger threat, so Tora would be able to take care of Sneasel. Then again, Phanpy is weak to Ice. I'll protect her if I need to. He looked over at M.A. and gave her a thumbs up.
"Flareon, let's heat things up!" Kilik said, clenching his fist, "Use Flamethrower on Heracross!" Flareon barked and did a few somersaults in the air. The air around him began to ripple with heat before he fired a stream of flames aimed directly for Heracross' chest. The attack felt stronger when he used it, though that may have just been the excitement of actually battling for once in a long time.

Mitsu shook her head. This battle was taking so much longer than it really needed to. She kind of wanted to catch up with M.A. and this was definately preventing it. However, there was no way she's back down now. She definately had the advantage, Ebony hadn't even been hit yet. Though that really wasn't much on her part, but Crenu for he hadn't even taken the offensive once. "Ebony, let's just finish this," Mitsu said her voice sounding a bit bored.
Ebony hissed in confirmation. His trainer was bored with this battle which meant that it was his job to finish it ASAP. "Ebony, give it a Night Shade! Use it's own strength to defeat it!" Mitsu commanded. Ebony's body seemed to expand and grow larger as a black aura began to form around the nearly fainted Poliwag before they flared out dealing as much damage as his current level of growth. It should definately be enough. A Sludge Bomb, a weakened Shadow Ball, and a Psychic should have already done it. But since it didn't this definately would. Mitsu sighed feeling a bit annoyed with the drawn out battle. At least Ebony seemed to have released all that pent up energy and was back to normal.

"Hang in there, Tora," M.A. called, lifting one leg then the other off the ground. Her socks repelled the cold, but she couldn't say the same for the skin above them. Gee, she'd forgotten about Ground's weakness to Ice! This wouldn't be too good for her side, at least. However, the little elephant looked back at M.A., as if to say 'Of course, dude, don't even worry.' Along with Kilik's thumbs-up, she felt a little reassured, if not a bit guilty for being the weak side.
In classical Pokemon style, everything halts for a Pokedex reading. This time her PokeNav+Dex sang its words to the tune of "Baby Got Back." M.A. had already gotten used to it more or less, but she still shot an embarrassed, sheepish look at the other two trainers there.
'Sneasel, the Sharp Claw Pokemon. It is extremely vicious and will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving.' 'Heracross, the Single-Horn Pokemon. With powerful legs and claws, it generates enough power to hurl foes over great distances.'
"Alright, Tora," she commanded. "Got 'er scent, yet?" The Pokemon nodded, still shivering a little. That meant she'd have an easier time hitting the thing -- from the looks of it, Sneasel were fast. A Take Down would be too much of a risk; the other would likely avoid, sending Tora into the wall behind them. "Roll-out, and rebound!" And so the Long Nose Pokemon rolled into a tight ball, zooming towards the Sneasel with alarming determination.
The Sneasel frowned, waiting 'till the very last second to dodge. She was good at two things: Speed and Attack. Defense and endurance.... well, that was a wholly different matter. But to her surprise, Tora just... passed her by an inch. The Sneasel was confused for a moment, then shrugged. Guess she missed.
Or at least she thought the Phanpy had missed until it slammed her in the back, hard. The Sneasel was sent sprawling on the floor, slowly getting up and rubbing her back. Kanda frowned. "You can't get hit like that too much, Sheik," she called. "Focus on dodging and quick attacks, babe."
Meanwhile, on Heracross' side, he saw impending doom coming in the form of hot fire coming towards him. Oh, darn, the mellow Single-Horn Pokemon thought, wondering how much he could avoid /that/. He wasn't Sneasel. Sighing, he shot up in the air, only redirecting the attack to his bottom half rather than a direct assault. The heat hurt like no other, though; he felt like he was being tossed around in a sizzling pan. This Flareon was strong! The Heracross had to take a few deep breaths to subdue the pain. He couldn't take fire-attacks like that.
Here, Kanda frowed too. This would have to be a quick battle; with type advantage, time was on the other trainers' side. "Time to get down and dirty, Heracross; get in there and hit 'em hard!" she said, commanding her next attack. The Heracross nodded, speeding straight towards the Flareon, his horn thrust in front of him. But it didn't connect. Instead, Heracross suddenly lashed out with its claws, grabbing Flareon hard, heaving it off the ground, and slamming it into the ground with incredible force, with the Bug-type's weight, boosted by his momentum, and body on top. Kanda was a bit surprised -- she hadn't seen that attack before, but it looked strong. Unfortunately, it did put him in a bad position afterwards... The Bug-type tried to get out of there, but he wouldn't have enough time to distance himself.

Kilik laughed. "Great job, M.A! Ice-types are weak to Rock-type moves! Keep up those Rollouts and I think we'll be in the clear!" That was of course, until he heard the crashing noise from Flareon's body hitting the ground. That must've stung. The boy growled and punched his palm. "Alright, you want to play dirty?" That was definitely a move that he had never seen before, but it definitely looked like a Fighting-type attack. "We'll play dirty! Flareon, I want you to enclose that Heracross in a pillar of fire! Fire Spin!" He knew that was one of Flareon's weakest attacks, but if he could manage to put the Bug behind flaming bars, that could just clench him a solid victory.
"Flaaaaa..." his fur bristled and he stood on edge, still recovering from the damage inflicted by the unknown attack. "FLAREON!" he practically roared, unleashing a burst of flame that crashed into Heracross' back then erupted into a tower of fire. The fox's legs shook a bit, but he managed to stand up and keep going.
"Alright, Flareon! We've got her cornered now!" Kilik smirked. Then again, another smack from that unknown move could probably put him against the ropes and Tora, though strong, probably wouldn't last too long against two opponents like this.

Heracross groaned, feeling the bout of flames leaping on his back then surrounding him tightly. He almost didn't want to move. It was so hot, so very uncomfortable, and somewhat painful. Yeah, he was strong -- years of doing ranch work and heaving hay-stacks would do that for you, but he couldn't take a fire. One of Kanda's brothers had a Water-type to take care of fires at the ranch just in case. But it certainly hadn't been his job back then.
"Hang on there, Oro!" Kanda pleaded. "We gotta find Murry!" The Heracross' resolve steeled. He wasn't sure why, but winning this battle was important for Murry's sake, wherever the heck that Tauros was. All or nothing attacks, then, the trainer and Pokemon decided wordlessly. "Go for it," she said, her eyes a bit sad for making her Pokemon endure this. Heracross recklessly charged forwards again, feeling the burning sting of the flames around him, and crashed into Flareon hard. Take Down. It hurt him too, though. He wouldn't be able to take much more.
Tora spun around, continuing her Rollout. Sheik was more prepared for it this time, though. "Faint Attack out," Kanda commanded. The Sneasel sneered and disappeared right before Tora struck her again, reappearing on the other side of the ball and slamming into her as hard as she could. Tora didn't break, however, still staying in her ball even as she nearly collided into Flareon and Heracross. She rolled up the wall, slowing as she came up until there was a complete, gravity-defying halt. Then she came down, faster and faster and faster --

For a thief, it seems like she's got some kind of morals. She's doing this for a reason other than to help herself. Kilik clenched his fist. Part of him didn't want to win, but he wasn't going to let the first battle reunited with his Flareon end up in a loss. "End that Heracross!" he commanded, "Use Flamethrower one more time!" I'm going to need to find a way to get Heracross out and manage to help knock out Sneasel all while keeping Flareon from passing out.
That Take Down certainly hurt. It was getting harder and harder to stay stable with powerful moves like that crashing into you. The recoil damage that Heracross received would prove enough, however. With one more somersault and another deep breath, a spray of Flamethrower came billowing down to the Heracross' weakened form. The pillar created by his Fire Spin dissipated.

Who was Murry? M.A. thought, a touch troubled by her opponent's issues. This girl didn't seem like a first-time thief; it was likely her occupation. But if roles were reversed, why would she pick a fight with trainers instead of taking the time to find another target?
Meanwhile, Sheik was getting tired. Most of the time, her jobs revolved around pick-pocketing, which required little boosts of speed then hiding. She couldn't keep up with Tora's momentum if it kept going like this, if she kept going faster. When the Phanpy came ricocheting off the wall like a frickin' ping-pong ball, Sheik had the focus but not the ability to dodge it thoroughly. It hit her legs hard, sending her into the ground. Ouch! Another one and she was done for, she was sure. "Icy Wind again, quick babe!" Hopefully it'd slow the Phanphy down enough to stop that Rollout. If it grew in power anymore, it'd be overkill. And so, the Sneasel once again sucked in air and breathed a strong gust of snow, ice, and chill.
It did stop Tora; she fell out of her ball position and slapped the alley wall hard. Before she could recover, the Sneasel with its speed was on her again, about to get on her with those sharp claws. M.A. bit her upper lip and recalled Tora just before the first blow landed. "That's enough, girl," she smiled to the Phanpy's Pokeball. "Plenty good."
As for Oro... "Endure!" Kanda shouted. The Heracross braced himself, his trainer looking pained for him as the flames envelopped him. A critical, super-effective hit. Heracross was left strewn on the ground, barely conscious. He'd endured it, but what of it?
"I can't have you going anymore," Kanda said, a sad smile on her lips. "Good job though, Oro. You too, Sheik. Return." For if Oro couldn't handle a Fire-type, Sheik wouldn't even be close. She knew losing odds when she saw them -- well, except for when she chose M.A. to rob from, but she'd been in too much haste by then.
Once her Pokemon were firmly in her hands, she sighed. "Pokemon battles are too much for /my/ constitution," the red-head breathed, tucking her Pokemon away. She seemed a bit depressed for a moment, but lifted her head high once again. She wouldn't let this speed bump get in the way. She had to find Murry one way or another. Maybe she'd just smuggle onto that train. Without further ado, she walked briskly towards Kilik and M.A., intent on passing them. No need to be charming if they already uncovered her.

There was no use in waiting, as soon as the attack went through Crenu recalled Poliwag. He knew that there would be no getting up after that. He was surprised that he was able to stand after the last attack, perhaps he gave his Poliwag too little credit. "I must say, that was a tad disappointing. Trying a new strategy in a battle without testing it was foolish, but I thought you would turn to the defensive after the Rain Dance. Oh well, guess I'll have to practice that one a bit more first. but it looks like your Gengar got rid of some steam, so it wasn't all bad." That was odd, being on the defensive was against his own personal style. He wasn't going to do that again anytime soon in a real battle.

Digger hadn't been expecting for Torkoal to come flying at him like a rocket, so when the two Pokemon collided it was a rather comical sight. Digger's momentum caused him to practically bounce off of the Torkoal's hard shell like an undignified basketball and fly straight up into the air. This didn't mean that Torkoal's Body Slam didn't hurt - as it did, tremendously. Digger's pained cries reached Kasiya's ears and she glanced quickly at the tortoise. Maybe she should have sent out Flash instead, as the Jolteon would have had no problems dodging an attack like that. It was too late to second-guess herself now, though. "Digger, Crush Claw!" she shouted to the still-falling Pokemon. Hopefully the Sandslash's momentum would help him to put more 'oomph' behind this attack.
Digger reacted quickly, scanning the ground below him and rearing back a claw. It glowed with the familiar brilliant energy as he held it ready to slam into the Torkoal.
Torkoal had no way to dodge Digger's oncoming aerial assault and as the crushing claw attack made contact with her Pokemon, she could have sworn she heard a cracking sound. It had been a hard it, perhaps even a critical hit thanks to the added weight behind the attack, and now Torkoal was in real pain. Flannery grit her teeth. Her hands were clenched in such tight fists that her knuckles were ashen. "Torkoal hang in there! Overheat!" she shouted.
Torkoal closed her eyes and forced the coals set in her back to flare up. A pillar of flame accompanied by a blast of smoke erupted from her small body, filling the immediate area with scorching hot flames. Let's see how it likes that, Flannery thought, smirking as she watched her favourite attack in action.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan stood up as the gym leader approached him, and scratched the back of his head somewhat sheepishly. "Thanks," he said, accepting the badge and other winnings from her before glancing down at Shelgon and grinning again. The Dragon beamed back up at him, obviously proud of her efforts, even though it didn't seem like a challenge. She did, however, realize that there were other, less experienced members to her team and that they needed a chance to battle too.
Jaeshan studied the new Stone Badge carefully, thinking about how different his battle with Roxanne had been compared to Brock. Brock had been a bit more defensive while Roxanne had been offensive, yet they still both specialized in Rock-types. He thanked the leader before turning to go, stopping to wave to Ryka. "Let's get back to the Pokemon Center," he told her. "Beldum and Combusken are in rough shape." He recalled Shelgon before heading out of the gym, feeling a little more confident now that another obstacle had been cleared.

Ryka giggled at Shelgon's antics. "She's grown so much since the last time I saw her!" Ryka exclaimed, a smile on her face. She crouched down and pat the growing dragon on her head before she was called into her ball.
Ryka stood up and followed Jaeshan out of the Gym. "That was an amazing battle. Congratulations on your win! You guys all did great." Ryka smiled, recalling how all of his Pokemon had grown. "They've all gotten so much bigger.. your Pokemon, I mean. Combusken and Shelgon.. and little Beldum too. He seems so happy with you." She fingered her own lip in thought. "I knew I sent him to the right person. Thank you for taking great care of him (it?)."

Mike sat there and watched the battle go on. "Kasiya certainly wasn't taking any risks in this battle, what with her using three Ground types." He hummed, resting his head in his hands. "How boring." said the boy. He wasn't indenting to berate his friend's strategy. After all, it was a smart plan. Mike just figured with a Gym battle it was more fun not to use all your Pokemon that wonderfully countered your opponents. Then again, not everyone was as odd as he was when it came to their battle preferences. At least Flannery was going down fighting. "That's my girl." said Mike, a proud grin on his face.
"Goodness, goodness! More things to do!" Mike wailed in response to Keegan's off handed remark. He threw his hands up in an overly dramatic fashion. "I've got a lunch with Flannery, training with Napalm, a visit with mom, a possible battle with you!" He took a deep breath. "And now I've got to drop Nitro off for a visit with his mom!" He held up four fingers at Keegan just in case he forgot how to count, then immediately added another one when he realized it was he who needed to be given a refresher. Mike looked down at Napalm, who was currently staring right back at his rather loud trainer. "You'll never be a Magmar!" He crossed his arms and grumbled, he really wanted that Magmar.
The Live Coal Pokemon only scratched his head. What was a Magmar?
"So how is the Dame these days?" asked the boy, his annoyed attitude instantly replaced by a genuinely curious one. "She still that same ol' saucy Charizard?" Mike let out a quick chuckle as he thought back to his first meeting with 'the Dame' as he affectionately called her. She was certainly a piece of work. "Nitro's definitely a chip off the ol' block." He added with another snicker.
