Clare lost herself in though as she finally settled. Where was Hellen and Deneve? How was Flora doing in her search? What does the organization know about us? What don't I know about me?
Raki's voice was what brought her out of her thoughts, and she immediately turned to him and nodded her acknowledgment. She wasn't sure if she could keep the worry out of her voice, and she did not want the injured human to think it was for him. Though he seemed kinda comatose.

Raki walks a bit off to the side with Clare, "Sorry for interrpting you but me and Aiya were talking and there's some things I think I've put off asking for long enough. Clare, why am I here? When I asked to stay when you took me to the next village over why did you agree?"

Raki relaxes as Clare smiles but still struggles hard to keep talking, he had practiced this a hundred times but it didn't make it any easier, "No it's not that. I enjoy my life here, I really do. It's just no matter how hard I try it feels like you never seem to really need me. I'm not strong enough to fight with you, you have your healing powers and never let me try to help you with that. The only thing I can do is cook for you. You also never seem to notice anything I do. As embarassing as it sounds the only reason I wanted to learn from Warren was to impress you."

"You don't need to impress me, you're good company, and that's something I haven't had in years." Clare looked around at the whole party, " You cook my food, keep me company, and I protect you. That seems pretty fair to me."

Raki looks up at Clare, looking a lot better "Really. That makes me feel a lot better. Sometimes I wonder what you think of me because you never show it, but then again that might be a lot to ask. But I've come this far, I mine as well finish. It's so obvious Aiya noticed it in a day so it's probably nothing you don't already know. The real reason I get depressed when you never pay any attention to me and why I want to prove myself to you is.." Raki swallows hard, turning red and looking away from Clare, increadibly nervous, "Clare... I love you. I know you'll never feel that way about me and l'll just end up getting hurt, but it's just how I feel."

Raki looks down, voice cracking as he barely holds back the tears "I know, I know that it's wrong and would never work out and The Organization would never allow it and a hundred other reasons. Sometimes I think I've gotten over it, but every time you get hurt or don't pay attention to me when I want you to it keeps coming back. I'm sorry Clare, I'm just weak. But who else is there, you're all I have."

Raki looks back up, pulling himself together, "I know. Aiya told me the same thing. I remember that day. I got so mad when I couldn't beat her in training because it meant I was so far behind being able to help you. Come to think of it there's something I've been wondering about her for a while. You brought her along to protect me right? She's good with a sword and all but she's still as human as me. Would she really be able to protect me from a Yoma?"

"Even if you did, that would be alright, she's a good person." Clare took a bite and paused, before letting the burning food down her throat. The next bite was let to cool first.

Raki keeps eating his bowl to, "Yeah, she's ok. I don't know why but no matter how mopey I am she always listens, supports, and helps me. It was actually her idea for me to come talk to you, I was too chicken. But I promised you I'd always be there for you, I can't get distracted."

Warren left the injured Thorn outstretched by the log and campfire where he had been resting and yelled out to the pair standing in the distance, drawing a wicked stare from Aiya.
"'Ey! We need to get a move on! Thorn's wounds are patched up, we oughta get on the road and get him some medicine proper. There's only so much I can do out here in the wilderness."
With another nasty glare from the human girl, the male Claymore shrugged and went to gathering his things.
