That all makes sense, but not to them. They'd just bring up the "We are sentient people. The fetus/Earth is not sentient nor is it a person." argument, as if personhood really means so much in the universe in its' entirety.

So, you know. whee Yeah, I love how the rules can magically bend at will when they command it, but when we try and use an analogy "OH T3H N03S" that has no relevance to them or the argument. It's not about sentience anyway, it's about sulf-surviving. Nothing self-survives, period.

Next time someone says, "It's just a reflex," to questions involving fetal responses to stimuli...
Pinch that person, cover your ears, and say, "I can't understand what you're saying, so I'll assume that you aren't hurt...that scream was just a reflex."

Pyrotechnic Oracle Whats funny is that many scientist now say that the responce isn't reflexive What I want to know is how the heck a reflex=unable to feel. A reflex involves your nerves. Your body needs to register it for you to be able to react to it. Even if you aren't aware you're reacting. And if reflexes are only meant to be used for things you can't feel, then shouldn't my hand not hurt when I burn it? I reflexively yank it off the stove if I accidentally touch a stovetop that's on, but that doesn't mean I don't feel anything. What the heck is "Only a reflex" supposed to mean? "The fetus feels it but doesn't know it." So when I'm asleep, it's okay to stab me multiple times as long as I don't wake up. Because I feel it but I'm not aware that I feel it.

Homgosh, were ebil republicans who want to enslave women and contol their bodies. But in all seriousness, it is true. I get this feeling that the world will be ruled by chaos because no limit is set. I'm going to be an old man seeing some guy run by on fire and tell him "I told you so." And besides that, I always see some person complaining about the government and that they don't want it around, yet they are democratic rofl . Isn't that the most hypocritical thing ever.

And also, about that reflex thing... I've thought about it like that, but I've never noticed it. It is also argued that it cannot feel pain, but it is also argued that it can feel excruciating pain because it is even more sensetive than an adult human. I'm not sure which to believe, but if I were to choose, it would be the latter.

Yeah...thats true. This one gaia in the GD, Roman Holiday, (I think I showed you his thread Lyme. "Jesus was NOT your saviour" I beilive.) makes me realise just how ignorant the people here on gaia are. rolleyes
