Kalan meandered over to the least populated area of the lake, holding Akki's hand. "It's... A bit more popular here than I thought it would be." Shrugging apologetically, the corner of his mouth curled up in a lopsided grin.
((Sorry that took so long, I've learned that trying to use the computer on the weekends anymore is near impossible.))

Akki wrapped both hands around his, chewing her lip nervously as she met his eyes. "I dont mind..."
She pulled him to a quiet spot, urging him down to sit with her on the warm sand. "Kalan....I cant..I shouldnt have said yes...not yet."

Atari smiled to Evangelia but offered a sort of hurt glance to Calix. He brought himself to stand and stepped closer, pulling his tail back to hold to his bare chest as he averted his gaze some, his voice soft as he directed it to Calix. I haven't done anything to prove myself someone you shouldn't trust, so you should really give me the benefit of the doubt and trust me. He looked to the boy with large green eyes, a very shy gaze, before lowering his ears some.

Sunray Tristram Leilani looked back at the sky and thought about his words. His father might have been overly protective but it sounded like he would have given his life for his children. "He doesn't sounds too bad. He just loved you all and wanting you safe." Tsukasu said, blushing softly as he looked away. He didn't want this to come out wrong. It might have been because I was his only child that he wanted me so safe...as sad as it is, he wouldn't have cared if any of my mothers other children were out and about, he said, taking a deep breath. I don't know though, I never really knew my father in detail...or really anything about him.

Calix looked at Atari, unsure of what to really say. Evangelia wanted to speak for him for she understood why he was the way he was. But she didn't say it, knowing that her twin needed to explain it. "I don't give out my trust so easily. I have my reasons." His voice wasn't harsh this time but he didn't say more than that.
Leilani turned onto her side, her elbow on the ground with her hand supporting her head. "Then that's all the more reason for him to protect you. It's like that with a lot of only kids." She nodded lightly then smiled.

Atari nodded some, but didn't quite understand what Calix had against trusting strangers. Maybe that's why you guys have a hard time trying to block one another's thoughts and such? Because...of your lack of trust in others. His voice was soft, andhe looked to Calix with his head tilted just slightly. After a moment he shook his head and looked back to Evangelia and offered a smile. We can ask my brother where to find good food...he probably knows where there're places to sleep, too.

Again, the twins looked at one another and shrugged a little. Evangelia had no problem trusting others. Granted, she was careful in her selection but certainly not as careful as her brother. "Maybe... I'll work on it but I can't garentee anything." When Atari mentioned food, Evangelia beamed. "That sounds great! Can we go now?"
Leilani nodded some then tapped at her chin. "On my mind? Well, what's it like to swim with legs?" Might have sounded like a silly question but she had never tried it. "Do you have to learn or do you just...know?"

Swallowing the lump in her throat, Akki played with the hem of her skirt, her eyes on his hands. "I want to more than anything...but...you need to know first. I should have told you long ago...I tried.."
She looked up, watching his face tensely. "I'm not....I havent..." her face blushed deep red, unable to say the words aloud, I wanted you to be my first...my only...

Kalan pulled Akki closer and buried his face in her neck. With a hint of humor, he whispered, "You've been married before?" Pulling back, he smiled at her, and kissed her gently. "I appreciate the sentiment, but I love you know matter what. That's never going to change." Patting her leg in comfort, he looked back over the water, So what happened? ... If you want to talk about it.

Tsukasu laughed softly, shaking his head. I'm not sure how it is for normal people, or for mermaids, but from my experience, I just learned how to. Well, it wasn't that it took time to learn, but when my half brother pushed me into the pool and I almost drowned, I kind of learned then. I guess when it's a situation like that, your body kicks into survival mode, he said with a laugh. That's probably one of the reasons my father never lets me outside...

Leilani gasped a little. "Your brother pushed you in? How mean!," she huffed. But she could understand how someone could learn in that sort of situation. "I hope I would never have to learn in such a way. It's not very nice to have someone do that to you..."
Calix nodded a little then had his hand grabbed by Evangelia. "Alright, let's go!" She was happy to have made a new friend and was looking forward to making new ones. She could sense that her twin wanted friends too but he wouldn't say it out loud.

Yeah, my brother is kind of a jerk, Tsukasu said, looking to Leilani. If you want, I could maybe teach you how to swim with legs, if you're interested? he asked, smiling softly to the beauty.
