The inhabitants of the Kizingo'zaa are blessed (or plagued, depending on how you look at it) with an insanity curse, which will affect all those whom stay in the land. While this 'paradise' is open to all, those seeking refuge should enter at their own risk.
Fiach is schizophrenic, the voice he hears is not a pleasant one.
His muse is thunderstorms, something that soothes the voice in his head.

They often come as short glimpses or whisperings of things that had happened or would come to pass. Because of his schizophrenia and the fact that these glimpses do not show him the full context of his visions, he believes that these are being shown to him by the demon in him and that they are to be ignored, if not prevented. During thunderstorms, however, he hears a more pleasing voice in his head, one he has come to call his Raven, who traps his demon and soothes him. He believes any visions he receives from the Raven are good ones.
