When the face glided across the tree trunk Shale turned her head and walked a few paces to where it had gone. Her eyes searched out for any movement, as her head tilted slightly to one side, the white strands of her hair pooling over her shoulder.

"Is someone there?" She said to the thing in the tree, as she kept staring out, to see if there was movement.

'Yes. He hide like me. I smell him. He smell like death, but only little.' His face glided back towards the human, and disappeared into the tree's shadow. He was getting impatient. The special ones were treating the human girl like she was special too. The voices hadn't said anything about that group when he had thought about attacking them, like they did with the white-haired woman. 'I wait little more...then I go...' He directed his voice to Shale. '...Hey, you, lady....Why don't you go annoy the hiding man?'

Bending low behind the leaves, Exodus has nearly reached the path when he heard the girl's voice ring behind him, asking if anyone was there. He was caught; he couldn't go onto the path and out of cover, else he would be revealed. And he couldn't remain in the bushes or be found. Raising a hand to his face an removing his viel so not to seem suspicious, Exodus stood up.

"Yeah, it's just me. I was walking by, playing with my necklace, and accidentally threw it into these bushes." He paused to lightly lift the front of the cross pendant from his chest; then he let it fall back with a light thud. "Please, forgive my intrusion. I didn't mean to worry you or anything." Exodus made eye contact briefly, then looked down again; eyes could give too much away. Suddenly remembering his hood, he lowered it out of politeness and revealed his black hair.

"My name is... Exodus Mi'efel. Pleasure to meet you."

((Sorry I dropped off a little.))

"Alright. I will give it to you quick, but you won't like it. Any number of super-human creatures caused this disaster. They may strike again. If your nation is to survive, you must set your forces on alert for opposing forces mobilizing. I am not sure how much you can do, but there might be something." He ignored the further efforts of the MPs to prevent him from moving forward, as well as the inevitable press assault on him. "If you want proof... I can give you more, but I still doubt you will like it."

Schenk looked at the clearly deranged man for a moment, surpressing the urge to laugh. Super humans? This guy must be drunk, or something.

"Sorry, son, but you'll have to do better than that. I'm not buying your bull."

He gave a look to the MPs that clearly stated he wanted this weirdo taken away.

Amadeus, who managed to (sort of) catch up with Mark, noticed that diplomacy with the general wasn't going too smoothly. He hoped that his standing as a Guardsmam might be able to help out.

"Sir." Amadeus gave a quick, crisp salute to the general before continuing. "Sir, this man is not telling you a load of-" he checked himself. "He's not lying, sir. I was present when the Pentagon exploded. There were... weird creatures fighting out front. I'm surprised you haven't recieved other reports confirming this. Also..." He looked over at Mark. "If you still need proof, he's got it."

Schenk raised an eyebrow at the newcomer. Judging by his posture, as well as his weapon, the general surmised that he was part the armed forces. Furthermore, his ragged, battered look somewhat supported his claim that he was present at the Pentagon's explosion.

"Hmmm... you two, come with me." He turned to one of his aides. "I have more... pressing matters to attend to than the mindless media. You handle those goons, alright?"

[[ Sorry, Guys, I keep trying to wait for Kind, but it's not working anymore... Lol, it would be really funny if I lost this match. Idk why, but it would definately be funny.]]

The neko's eyes narrowed dangerously, as he gripped his sword tightly. His leatherbound hands squeaking faintly from the force of his grip.

"Don't mock me, Beast," he growled, crouching into a fighting stance. "What business do you have in this town?" A mocking smile continued to play across her face, as she began twirling the small dagger in her hands.

"It's in my way," she drawled playfully, taking non-chalant step toward him. His lip peeled back into a quiet snarl, and a silent rage flared somewhere in the depths of those crimson eyes.

"Then you will not survive this battle!" he roared charging toward her, unsheathing his sword. His silver blade flashed in the sun as it sliced through the air, heading straight toward her.

[[I can't find the roll dice application... Do you guys still have it?]]

((Ummm... no. This could turn out to be problematic. Incredibly problematic. >__>))

((No kidding!))

Mark nodded briefly, grinning. This was going better than expected. At least he hadn't been attacked yet. Maybe this person would be logical about the whole thing. Maybe not. Either way, the Defenders and the military would probably remain separate. Too much interaction could be bad. Not all people were as un-biased as this one seemed to be.

Shale was turning to answer the tree man, when another man stood from out of the bushes. She stepped back a little, her green eyes looking at him cautiously. They're eyes meet briefly before he looked away, explaining himself. Why explain himself when she had accused him of nothing.

She looked thoughtful. "You were eavesdropping, Exodus Mi'efel." She said it more as a statement. She tilted her head, confusing appearing on her face. "But why? Aren't you apart of these events?"

Spreading her arm, she signaled to the the group that had floated down to earth. "I can feel it in you."

Exodus looked up sharply when the girl pointed, then hastily looked down again. This girl knew something about him, something that she had no reason knowing, and the white glint in his eyes would give him away. He had to move on before he was pinpointed for what he was. Now was not the time to kill.

Taking one step back, Exodus bowed his head slightly. "I beg your pardon, but I'm not sure at all what you're talking about. If you don't mind, I'll be on my wa-....." He paused. Out of nowhere it seemed, his sense for magic picked up three separate sources than the girl. Two came from where the girl had pointed. One of the sources shone brightly in his mind when he focused on it; the other was as elusive to hold onto as a spring breeze flitting throughout the trees.

And the third one, so very faint that he wasn't surprised he missed it before... His eyes snapping up, now heedless of what the girl saw in his eyes, Exodus stared at where he had seen the dark spot on the tree... now it was gone, but the aura was still there. Grimly he stared at the tree, taking a step or two forward. The white glint in his eyes began to manifest, slowly taking over his iris', follows by his pupils, until his eyes were a reflective pearl white. A swirling purple aura surrounded the tree; a sign of sin. He knew beyond a doubt someone... or something, was there.

"Someone in this clearing hasn't been a very good... the signs of death lay thick upon you. I'll give you credit, though; I doubt I could hide in the shadows as well as you could."

The sudden change in the man and the way his eyes shone told her that she had been right. So unusual. She stepped further back as he moved towwards the tree, his words heavy in the air. She didn't touch the man, somehow, she got the feeling she would have the opportunity to another time, to see what lied behind those strange eyes.

Right now she pushed back from the confrontation and simply sat down and watch. It was not her place to interfer, merely to record. For a moment her body rippled, her face and body changing to mimic that of the man, before returning to her normal appearance. She listened to the shushed voices of the landed group and watched the events in front of her.

At moments like this in order to better record events her senses become more attune, though she was incapable of watching two things at once should the people move in different directions, the calling in her would seek out at least one person from the event and record their memories. That part could be dangerous, but it was necessary. The call insisted on it.

Ch'Karra was getting impatient with the lack of events around the group with the human, and was about to simply leap out of the tree's shadow, and approach them. He then payed attention to the death-scented man's voice.
He turned his attention back to the other side of the tree. "You talk to me, strange man?" He decided that hiding now was kind of useless, and proceeded to exit the shadows. His head came first, floating in mid air, outside of the shadow, then the rest of his body materialized as he let his control go. He sat there, staring at the man, and his left hind leg reached up and scratched behind his ear.

"Floating?" asked Tamwyn. She glanced at the unseen a'Ariella for a moment. "Ah, you mean like before." She nodded at the ethieri'i. "I see no reason why that cannot be arranged."
a'Ariella understood Tamwyn's intentions and swooped down, picking up the barely-conscious Ryn so that he hovered a few feet above the ground.
Tamwyn nodded again and turned to go. "I will go and arrange things. You two stay here, where you'll be safe."
a'Ariella felt a twinge of distress and panic. But- she cried out mentally. If I'm not with you, who will-
Tamwyn looked back over her shoulder. You will be safe, she repeated.
a'Ariella subsided and watched Tamwyn go. She couldn't help but feel a trace of unease about their situation.

((They're splitting up. From now on I'll do a post split between their viewpoints. If anybody messes with Tamwyn, fair warning: she's got no restraints now that she's separated from a'Ariella...))
