Wow...*Peers in.* I think FoJ would be alright so long as there are this many people who care about it. ^^

I hope so. =)

on another note :: pokes the new owner of the guild :: Kenchan was listed as the owner, but now Mokoni is listed. I dunno what happened with that though.... If Kenchan changed it in response to my messages, he never said a word to me about it. However, if that is what happened it kinda stinks since, well, that's Moko's hacked account and no one has access to it. Sooo.....now I don't know what we should do ^^;

Nammie, have you gotten ANY news from Kennychan? He's been like, AWOL from AIM so I honestly haven't been able to contact him at all, even just for a little chat. x_x; And I'd really like to check up on how he's doing but I don't have a number I can reach for him either. >_<

rawr...it's not going very well ^^;

Nor for me... we are going to have to pull up our boots and plow forward, regardless. WE CAN DO THIS!

Yes it would be, we just need more people who are willing to actually DO things, take action, and oversee.

Huh. That's odd that he said nothing directly to you... and we need to put her actual account name in parentheses or something as... well, youknowwhat happened.

ACK! You mean her HACKED account is showing as owner?!?!?!

Someone update us! Cripes... this will never do, she needs to ask that her account be FROZEN while they investigate, I did that and it was done right away... good grief *frets*.

VKM you brat! Hahaha.

I'll try to help out any way I can. To confirm some speculation brought about to this thread, I made a thread asking how fast it takes an average Gaian to get 10k gold. (10k is like the average price for a kimono/yukata.)

The poll has been running up 11/16-11/18, and I've started bumping it up again today (11/22)...but so far the results are with 72 votes, 50% of Gaians can make 10k in 2 weeks.

Here is the Link.

There's been some discussion early on in the thread about how people make gold...but it seems like it's easier for Gaians to make gold these days.

Now I'm sorry to say that I can't tell how accurate this poll is.. (dunno how to factor in error of random people just poll-whoring and not reading the question ><), and this poll will in no way tell us how popular a kimono/yukata is these days.

Yet it does give some insight to a Gaian's buying power today. No point hanging around a charity thread for 4 months or something when they can make the money to buy a Yukata/Kimono it in 2 weeks.

If you guys want, please run another poll! With more information, we can make more accurate conclusions!

Some other things that would be good to know and that should be on my to-do-list is exploring the popularity of the Kimono/Yukata today. I believe this can be done by

1. Asking (like in chatterbox poll),
2. Recording how much are in the marketplace for sale daily for a period of time,
3. Or just browsing through the FoJ Thread.

Browsing through the thread and recording how many "new" people show up (not just mules) might give a good idea of how FoJ is doing these days. Counting how many new people have shown up within the past month of say October, and comparing that to October 2006, and October 2005 for example, would also give us a good idea of a yukata/kimono's popularity and perhaps start to show a trend?

Based on its current activities, I've noticed that FoJ has a wonderful ability to retain people- not everyone, but a great majority of posters these days are 'oldbies' from 2004-2006ish. On the brighter side of things that's a very big accomplishment!

no, I haven't =( I've yet to actually call him (not sure if he has the same number), but he hasn't responded to any of the other ways I've contacted him. He had to have changed the guild ownership, though, I suppose, although it did us no good.

Mahayr, ya I don't think we can change it now...hmm Don't know what we could do to change the owner now because the "Mokoni" account should be the only one with the power to change things like that at this point.

Candy, good research there. However I don't think we even really need to check on the number of new people compared to last year. I think there has been a pretty obvious difference in how many new people come in lately. I have seen a couple new people walk in, and actually last year at this time may not have been that great either, but of course we've slowed waaay down from times past. Really the thread is more of a hang out place anymore with a give away tagged on so it can be in the charity forums. It's pretty clear that kimonos and yukatas are not the sought after items they once were. I really don't think we're going to convince anyone to change what we give away though. well...maybe slightly, but not much. There still have to be new people out there who would want the items, but something is preventing them from coming into the thread. It probably the huge number of pages that is off-putting (I know that our number of pages is small compared to past threads...so really I dont' know what changed to make people afraid of that now, but I guess I don't know how else to explain it ).

sorry ^^ this has just been me babbling on again ^^;

VK....whee whee

I don't want to do anything before I'm certain if I have the time to spend, but I might take back some measure of control.

I'll see if any of my connections are still active, and what the current string of command to take care of 'mod' issues is.

Edit: I don't currently have his number, but Kenchan is still Vice-Captain. So if we can get in touch with him, someone with an active account can be given control.

Thanks. That's a good point Namek.

Heh, there's no reason I could come up with now to explain the decreasing amounts of 'new blood.' Well, I could come up with a couple: but I wouldn't be able to back them up with evidence...I don't think...

Maybe I could come up with a question, but yeah....

You know I was reading and thinking about stuff. I like the idea of giving out the oriental based items. Things for the home and clothing. We could rotate through items to give away. One color set per month for the housing items and have two people win a whole set of yukatas and kimonos. One guy and one girl you know? That way we have 3 people win a month only.

Its great to see this new information and the suggestions made. Its a lot to think about, but we need to get busy with it. Wonderful ideas and insight, candyripper.

My main problem is actually spending time in the where itself, and not just the Guild... I will work on that.

Also, Grondax... PLEASE ban Global Sponsor (my hacker) and restore my moderator status... it is terribly vexing to have to keep seeing that name, and not being able to help more in here when asked. (Thank you.)

To the actual where! *Goes*

If the guild is going in this direction I'm pretty sure I have some oriental stuff from when I was saving up to make an FoJ Guild Home

I really like the idea as well, and I am sure I have a few things. Some of them are in my real account and may have to wait, but I can get others, and bother some others I know for donations. Hehehe.
