Ghost screamed and roared, he was at his wits end with this lioness. He rushed at her, knocking her to the ground. He put one foreleg over her chest and front paws and the other he folded under him to get close to her face. He saw fear enter her eyes as he gazd with violent hatred into them. He then jumped up and began to bring his forehooves down to kill her when she rolled over. He was only able to come down hard on her back left leg, which he heard break with an audible snap. The lioness yowled and dashed back into the trees as fast as her broken leg would allow. Ghost then turned to Kipcha and examined her wounded flank. "You okay? We'll need to go to the stream later to wash that off...." He nuzzled her nexk quickly then turned to the new stallion. He had no intention of a fight, but instead wanted him to feel welcomed. "Hello, I'm Ghost. This is Kipcha, Freebird, and the colt with I guess your feather is Casper. You're welcomed to stay with us as long as you wish." He said, and he folded one leg under him, extended the other and seemingly bowed to the winged stallion.

Kipcha had stayed with her back to the lioness but swung her head to look over her shoulder so that she could kick out again if need be. The gash brunned like fire, which was rapidly turnning the surrounding skin hot. She shook her coat as if to shake off the injury and only coated the ground in a fine spray of blood. "I'll be fine, it's nothing that won't heal." She spoke the truth but would more than likely be limping for the next day or two and sore for far longer. She turned her attention to the new comer, nodding when Ghost introduced her and looking at him curiously. It only took a quick glance for her to know that Casper's feather belonged to the strange winged stallion. The blood now trickled its way down her leg in a crimson stream that stood out brightly from her own reddish coat.

*Hushabye said nothing, he took a nervous step back, untrusting of Ghost. But out of fear of another mountain lion finding him out there he stayed close. This stallion seemng to be a brave and fearless being.*

Ghost, noticing the nervousness of the other winged stallion, also took a couple steps backward to give him some space. I nodded again to the stallion and repeated. "You're welcome to stay if you wish..." He then turned back to Kipcha and was startlted to see blood streaming down her leg. "Yeah, whatever, let's go, I'm taking you to the river." He said with finality. He went to her side to support her and waited for her to step forward. He looked back at Freebird and Casper. "You wanna come?" he asked the mare gently. He addressed the stallion in the same manner: gently and respectfully.

Kipcha didn't like showing weakness, growing up without a constant stallion in the herd made her headstrong and independent. "Come on Freebird I don't want to be stuck with stallions all by my lonesome." While the statement rang semi ture she realy was concerend if the lioness would come back or some other predator would come. She laid back her ears but didn't pull away from Ghost's support. The last stallion that had tried to boss her around learned that he couldn't by a swift kick to the chest, but then again she hadn't been injured. "Lead the way...if you must." She grumbled but stepped forward, the pain not so bad yet as to keep her from walking.

Ghost chuckled at her reluctance and walked next to her for support. He didn't turn around to see if the winged stallion or Freebird was following, he would find out when they reached the river. They walked down the mountainside on the quickest route Ghost knew. He kept his ears trained on the surrounding forest. When they reached the clearing that led to the river, he stopped and looked around, sniffing the air for humans. Not detecting any, he continued on. They reached the river quickly. "Alright, go clean it out...I don't want that infected. It's a bit worse than you'd like to believe, Kipcha." he said gently, trying no to sound bossy, but concerned. He left her side and turned around to see if Freebird or the winged stallion had accompanied them and also to watch for predators.

Even after the short walk her limp had worsened. "It'll heal." Kipcha rolled her eyes at him but walked to the edge of the river. Stepping into the cool water she kept to the shallows. She folded her knees under her and sat in the water, effectively rinsing out the wound. After a minute or so she stood back up and turned her head to groom around the wound. The blood had turned the water to a tempoary shade of pink. The heat that had been building around the wound was soothed away by the cool water.

*Hushabye quickly decided that he wanted to join in the herd's oddity, he had never known these horses, or any but his own. But he soon began to think the four had not long been together. He was instantly a little frightened of Kipcha, and a little reluctant to even look at Ghost, but Freebird was quiet and her motherly figure and sweet face was so inviting.*
I sapose I'll stay..
*His nervous voice faded quickly, feeling that he had no place in this little herd,he slowly yet rapidly followed*

*Freebird stood close to Casper, following him every which way he began to waunder. He sensed her fear, though, and stuck close, too. Also fearing whatever it was. He had long dropped the feather and, sticking close to his dam, they followed Ghost and Kipcha out of the forest, almost anxious to get out into the more airy clearing where vision came easier.* I'm comming..

Kipcha looked around at Freebird and Casper, finding that the winged stallion had come along as well. After dipping her muzzle into the river for a quick drink she stepped out and shook the water off her coat. She walked up to Ghost's side so that he could see the still bleeding wound, "Do I pass?"One ear automaticaly found it's way to obserive Casper, a habit so often praticed she didn't even notice it. "I'm glad you came with us, Freebird and um...Who are you?" She refrained from asking what he was thinking it rude and not wanting to scare him off, as he did not look all to confident of himself.

Ghost chuckled. "Yes, you do, now that's it cleaned out, it'll heal better." he said. He nuzzled her in an apology. "Sorry for dragging you out here, but I've found it's the best way to enure a clean heal." He turned to where Freebird and Caper were approaching. He cantered lightly toward the approaching mare, colt, and stallion. He slowed to a walk before he reached them. "Nice of you to join us." he said sincerely to Freebird and the stallion, smiling warmly. He hoped the stallion wouldn't feel threatened by him, he meant no harm to him at all. He decided to try something. He went and stood by the stallion's side, not to close but close enough. Ghost lowered his head so that his head was of equal height with the stallion's to show he didn't think himself dominant over him, but he viewed him as an equal. He didn't speak to the stallion but simply walked silently beside him.

"No problem just don't make it a habit." She held nothing against him only she had a problem with orders from stallions, possibly in time the problem would fade. For now she looked to the quartet, as Ghost had cantered off to join the others, and rolled her eyes at him. Instead of limping all the way to join the group and then possibly limping back to the river's edge, she stayed where she was and balanced her weight on three legs, cocking the injured one. She shook her coat again getting rid of more water.

*He hesitated, just beggining to trust these new horses just a bit* Hushabye
*Suddenly he was then insecure of his name, it had never seemed so before, not until just recently, but even before he met these horses.*

Kipcha perked both of her ears to catch the first word he had said and repeating it softly to herself. She limped forward a little bit, "Nice to meet you Hushabye. I'm Kipcha." She smiled warmly and swished her tail, hitting her wound and wincing slightly.

Ghost smiled at the stallion again. "That's a nice name! It has a warm feeling to it, unlike mine...." he said, realizing the truth in his words. He sighed and Kipcha's wince caught his eye. "Easy, Kipcha, don't overdo it..and trust me, I won't make this a habit...only when it's necessary to be pushy." he said smiling at her.

Kipcha rolled her eyes at him, "That is not even close to overdoing it". Her voice held a tint of annoyance. He was lucky that she wasn't standing with reach of him, she doubted she would have been able to keep from nipping him. She cocked her left heal and temporarily ignoring Ghost she turned her head to clean the wound again.
