"Do not fret about it. The entire thing is my pleasure. I will meet you in the Crucian Castle with everyone else eventually. Good day, Lady Ifalna. Lord Jeane."

Upon all departures, Akuchi was one of a formal person, addressing them with high respect while talking regularly informally. As they were heading off, he could feel the joy that they were feeling, and he was glad about that, smiling even more that he has more of a recognition of his efforts with helping others. Though he knew that he was going to have concuct more of the elixirs and collect more ingredients, but for his plan, it was all going to be worth it. He had hardly a thing to worry about now, though...

Turning his head upwards, the sun was going to be indeed bright over the entire city. Shaking his head, he pulled the cloak around his body even more, it completely dark and black inside as he moved around. He could feel the slight irritation of the heat already, but he did not think any of it, for Akuchi was one that believed pain was a mental thing and if you feel it, you are weak. That was one of the other things he was glad to learn in his training in the Crucian army years before. Staring at the other soldiers, especially the new recruits, he very well knew that they were going to be hardened by this experience by the felling of their brethren. It was possibly going to be a good thing since the idea of having another enemy force beside the Brin was a great factor to speed their strength.

As the rest of the wounded and living able people were getting up, Akuchi decided to take hold of a child, who was missing a ligament but was fine due to administration and began to walk back to the Crucian Castle. When he was near enough, the doors were opened for the vampires and some humans, while people who could stay in the day were recruited into another build. It was there that he rested the young girl he held down next to a nurse.

"Take care of her, will you? Let them all rest."

He smiled and nodded his head before entering the hall of the castle. Once in there and away from the rays of the sun, he brought his hands to the head of his cloak and pushed it behind him, letting his thin white hair cascade down his shoulders and the top of his back. His silver-blue eyes looked around, and he clapped his hands together as he marched through.

"Now now, need to figure out who needs help here!"

Celena remained still, amazingly enough. It isn't often she can keep in one place for this long. Then again it isn't often she is sitting face to face with Vischer so maybe it wasn't all that amazing. She kind of guessed he had someone in mind, otherwise he wouldn't have brought it up.

Her ears flatten slightly when he starts speaking against gearing up for more of this strange lecture but suddenly he threw in something she hadn't been expecting at all. Her pale eyes shoot up from the ground they had been staring at to look at Vischer. So he really hadn't come to tell her to stay and listen to the whiny old geezers.

As the leaves floated down in front of her she couldn't stop the urge to reach out and bat at a few of the ones that fell directly in front of her with her paw. She really was still a cub at heart but she enjoyed that about herself. Being serious all the time would turn her into something like those busybody old geezers who like to tell the younger members what to do.

When he spoke of the world, of places she'd never seen or hardly heard about, she couldn't push down her curiousness. She edged closer to him listening intently as he spoke of not only the city, but the world far beyond the city. She could almost picture, well okay she could picture what she thought it might look like. Yet that wasn't enough, just knowing it existed did not quench her curiosity. She wanted to see it, to possibly touch it with her paws, to feel it in her whole being.

While listening to his description of the sort of wolfen it would take for her dreams to come true, she has to wonder what is wrong with her. She was smart and crafty. Not that any of them probably knew it, but she knew it and if someone would give her the chance she could prove it. Probably, sometimes she was confident about herself and other times she wasn't so sure. She felt shocked that he would be offering himself up to be her guardian. The thought really hadn't even crossed her mind.

Vischer was their leader, he had to take care of the whole pack. How could he devote time to just one of them? He had offered though, offered just has the huntress had done before. Not but yesterday she was simply the troublemaker. Today it seems that people have taken more notice of her. She felt strange gaining all of this attention suddenly. Then again it had been her own fault, by following Vischer and the elites to the city like that.

Of course if she was under Vischer's paw so to speak, maybe the elders wouldn't come nagging to her every single time she set paw outside the clearing. Those geezers were just so uptight and could probably use a nice vacation. She couldn't help but chuckle at that thought, it sounding like a low but happy growl in her throat.
Are you still going to tell on me to the elders? She ventures to ask deciding to not give him an answer just yet.

A figure walks slowly through the streets, boots digging into the dirt and gravel. A black cloak shifts with each step as the folds of a long black dress move in the slight breeze carrying the scent of death and destruction. Hard dark emerald eyes peer out from under the hood, to examine the littering of dead bodies that would soon need to be cleaned up.

Lillian Eldwards felt a shiver of excitement race up her spine as she looked at the carnage. She shouldn't feel so drawn to it, given her position and all but it just didn't matter. Death was so beautiful and deserved her attention. The mangle of bodies just heightened her enjoyment. Soon enough they would all disappear and she would only get the memory of what her eyes can take in.

Her dress shifts with each step as she moves through the piles of now rotting flesh. She felt some satisfaction to see that not only human blood was spilled but also that of those abnormal and repulsive vampires that now called this city home. She lifts her boot and pushes against of the bodies, seeing that it was nearly sheared in half. What kind of force could do such a thing? She nudges the upper body seeing the legs barely shift confirming her suspicions. Whoever did this was strong, stronger than even those vampires who lurked outside and in the city.

Might know this would happen on the night she decided to take off. Of course seeing the carnage she doubts that even if she had been on duty there would probably been about the same amount of damage. Something like this, there was little way to stop it. Not when it was this sudden. Lillian looks up when she feels the first rays of the sun hit her. Soon enough she would have to call together a group of people to clean this up. It wouldn't be good for the citizens who are still breathing to see this type of thing.

She turns away from the carnage, her cloak and dress bellowing out for a moment at the sudden moment and starts toward the castle. She would need to speak with Michelle about what to do with all of these bodies. As she nears the castle she notices that the doors are pretty much wide open, inviting anyone inside. She slips in quietly glancing around a moment before heading past what appear to be a sort of makeshift clinic.

The castle was filled with the wailing of the humans that suffered from such pains. Liefon, as he marched down the corridors and into the main chambers where the servants worked to make beds and comfortable areas for the hurting men, was slightly irritated at such behavior. The vampires, even in mourning, did not scream and wail against such actions. They stayed silent and to themselves, but sill as obedient as ever, quiet and full of sorrow, but not as selfish enough as to announce it to the world. Or, at least, that was how he felt. All the Liebeis, or most of what was left, stayed far away from the humans, their hunger beginning to grow from a feedless night as their minds wracked with the tainted smell of the humans wounds. Liefon, too, was growing hungry, for many things though; revenge, to avenge the deaths, for blood itself of the creatures that attacked the city. Yes, how he longed to drink them dry. As he entered one of the main chambers, with the high ceiling and wide area, humans busied themselves back and forth from humans that were bandaged and stil bleeding as their medical workers applied herbs and medicine to them.

Where was such a king? He was probably still sleeping among all of this madness, and during the day he would finally realize such torment. Liefon would have to explain it to him, of course, or his advisor would. The king would have to take action, to protect himself during the day, for the vampires could not. But now Liefon was debating something else. The Liebeis were so low in the number. If some of the humans didn't have a chance with their human life, Liefon was beginning to think, to be able to survive, that they would have to change some of them. It would only be by authorization of the king, though. Wouldn't he be reasonable enough to let his people live and have another chance, even if damned for life? Liefon saw no other way to grow the numbers in vampires. With mor eof them, the Crucians had more of a chance.

He sighed as he examined the room for a few moments longer, then turned back around and left down another corridor of the dark blueish walls that were now lit by candles. Ahead, spread througout a dark chamber, some vampires sat as still as stone. Gunhei was one of them, along with others who lost their mates, gathering together to share their sorrows. Liefon did not hesitate as he walked in; they all looked up at him instantly, almost relieved to see him. All except Gunhei, who shunned his head down and refused to look. Liefon ignored him, turning to all the rest who waited patiently for his words. "I know it must be difficult, for you all, in your loss. But, I must ask, for the sake of your very life, for the wishes of your mate, to not make any rash decisions." he paused, as they glanced at each as if already ploting something, then back to their king with wide eyes. "But you, too, must understand that such things will not be looked over. We will not sit here and let our brethren and mates' very souls, if ever so damned, go to waste by never doing something. You may grow impatient, you may grow weary, hateful; but remember. Whatever you do effects us all. Be wise, brethren."

Just then, Liefon looked at Gunhei, who still hadn't moved an inch. Through the corners of his eyes Liefon could see the other vampires nod gratefully to him, but he paid no attention. "Gunhei, will you come walk with me?" The vampire looked up with crimson, hungry eyes, then nodded only slightly. Liefon turned to leave, glancing at all the others first, "Remember my words, brethren." And he and Gunhei easily slipped out into the corridors, the vampire as silent as ever.

His ears perked a bit when he heard her little gleeful growl, she seemed to have indeed taken interest in what he had said... Of course she did dodge his offer, but if he responded back with the right wording everything else was okay... Actually after he thought about it, there was no reason to try and persuade her. It was her choice, and he was offering to help, not forcing his help upon her like the Elders do to the younger generation. With that thought, he really started to speak to her like she was part of his elite pack, although with less howling and shouting.

"Well"
, well he didn't how, but he did give a small happy growl of his own as he spoke,
"let me put it this way, if I was going to tell the elders, I would of stopped you from following us when I had the chance too,"
Vischer gave a premature heartly laugh as the next thought rolled across his brain,
"No one should have to suffer listening to the elders drone on and on, however I'll have to suffer that fate soon..."
Actually how much time would it be before he had to meet them?

After a small pause, his eyes drifted up to the clouds and the sky, but more importantly, as he did he noticed that time had flown by... probably due to him wandering through the forest like a... like a Celena, he gave an inward laugh, but hey he found something that met his curiosity, and that's what happens when one explores. So hopefully if she started to go on trips with him, she'd be able to explore and learn so much more, and find things to enjoy. However, she would have to tell him her answer later on, for he was now due to see the Elders.

"I am sorry to depart so soon, I have to go to that meeting with the elders, wish me well."
He chuckled,
"I might need it..."
He started to turn around ready to leave but he stopped,
"Oh, if you ever wish to talk to me about anything just stop on by, and I do hope to hear of your answer tonight."

Nosy geezers. Celena comments unable to stop the thought from slipping free. She quickly looks away not wanting to see the reprimand most likely in Vischer's eyes. She actually felt a little sorry for their leader having to sit through meetings with them. She couldn't standing sitting through a short lecture. Then again whenever she was faced with having to listen to them, she just tuned them out and thought about better things.

Of course if she was smart, which she knew she was, she would take up his offer in a heartbeat. Not only would she gain the chance to explore this world she could also learn things no one else could teach her. Then again, maybe first she should learn things about herself before taking on the world around her. She quickly pushes that thought aside knowing exactly why she chose to focus on learning about the world and not herself.

Then again was their some other reason he would want to help her, to offer to take her under his protection and let her learn of this world. Did he plan to mold her into something? And if that was his plan, then what did he want to try and mold her into. But it wasn't like her current life left her with many reasons for her existence in the pack. Is that why she was of nothing more than a troublemaker to them? Because she had no really purpose or offered no help to their clan?

A little puff of air leaves her nose as she gives her head a shake to clear away the tangle of thoughts and ridiculous questions. She really didn't care what they all thought, or for much else besides her explorations. Someday she wanted to be one of those members who all the cubs ran to for stories of the world they didn't yet know. Stories she had yet to learn herself, but could discover.

The noise of the injured and most likely dying filled the entire castle. From every angle the cries seem to bounce off the walls and ceilings like echoing reminders of what had passed. Lillian heads up a short flight of stairs the hood of her cloak still covering her head and hiding her face from view.

She looks down the corridor catching sight of several maids running around, almost in a panic. Just who was running the show here? It seems so unorganized and everything was a mess. So unlike her friend, or could it be the King was actually out of bed this early for once. She had almost come upon was had normally been an area of entertainment when she noticed a figure leaving through the large arch.

Her pace slowed as she realized exactly who she'd spotted. The leader of the vampires, she refused to give him any other sort of title. She stood quietly, her black clothes blending and yet standing out against the brighter castle walls and floors. Not that he would notice her, given that he was probably preoccupied with his own troubles. Once he disappeared further down the darkened corridor ahead of her, she began walking again heading for the room he'd left.

She steps silently inside watching as physicians and most likely people who had no training at all try and treat the severely wounded people of the city. She glances around catching sight of a young man being tended too by an older woman. As she silently approaches she gains both their attention.
"Deekin, so you had been out there, I wondered," she says in a smooth soft voice not wanting to disturb those around them. "Dead yet?"

"Captain," the young man replies in a gravely voice his eyes widening slightly. "I didn't think you'd be checking up on us."

"Who else would? You think the King has any idea what has happened? I doubt it, he's probably still snoozing away while his people are being murdered by the masses. How you feeling?" She answers with a snort, her green eyes glowing slightly.

"Better... the insides are staying where they belong," Deekin answers indicating the layer of bandages wrapped around his waist. He was probably lucky to be alive.

Yet Lillian felt a little happy to see him and that he would make it through this. Deekin had been one of the first recruits she'd trained under the title of Captain.
"Heal fast," she instructs with a half smile, "we have our work cut out for us it seems."

"Yes, ma'am!"
He replies a twinkle in his eye and a small smile forming on his lips. He would enjoy giving payback, that was for sure.

Lillian nods then leaves him knowing for now he would have to just heal up before he would become of any value to her again. Most of the other guards that had been on duty had perished. From what she could tell Deekin was one of the lucky few to make it through.

Seeing that the vampires were well taken care of and less noisy than the humans themselves, Akuchi proceeded to helping the humans. As he entered the small makeshift clinic that assembled the beds for the wounded, he could've help but feel as if he needed blood. His fangs seemed to ache with a cold shiver, which would only be suppressed by the elixir he had created or just a simple victim's blood. Placing his hand on his wrist, he dug a sharp nail into his skin, pain always allowing him to keep his mind straight. Shaking his head, he went beside the next human and began to help out with medical procedures such as stitches and the like. Him being accustomed to the sight of blood did not feel a bit feint from it, so that was an advantage for these Crucians. He also was speaking to them with a bright smile, trying to be cheerful and just being himself throughout the entire thing.

Though in the corner of his eye, he could see a few more vampires go towards a certain area, where all those that had lost a mate or a friend went to. Closing his eyes halfway, he nodded to his patient and thought about Rynira, wondering how she was fairing after that attack.

---

Upon seeing the time of day, Rynira decided that it would be a good idea to return to the pack. From what she remembered their Elder Hunter speaking of was that they were going to attend the meeting. She wondered if this would be true, and in fact, she hoped it was. She needed details, though she could also pass it by if it wasn't. Shaking her fur dry after emerging from the crystal clear waters, she proceeded to take the long path to the pack.

There was a lot in the Huntress' mind, especially since she identified the scent with Celena as Vischer. What was that about? All she could was speculate at the moment since no one seemed to know. As her mind trailed, she continued walking slowly, her fur warming and drying from the rays of the sun around her and through the trees.

As he finished his own patient, and decided that he was just going to allow the medics to use their own ointments, especially since he was running out of someone and created a memo in his mind that he needed to make more. Akuchi nodded his head to the human nurse before standing up and walking out of the makeshift clinic. He made sure to place his cloak's hood on his head, which helped avoid the sun a bit that shined through some of the windows. As he did this, he stared hard at a young woman, having recognized her from somewhere. His silver-blue eyes continued to blink in slight confusion until it came to him like a lightbulb.

"Captain Lillian!"

Though he did not run, he quickened his pace to her until he was a few arms' length away from the woman. He had seen her before with the human army, depicting her as either a Leader from the position that she took or a high ranking-officer. Still, she was a good reference to know if the human king heard of such instance happening.

"Captain, good to see you. How is everything fairing with your men and the king?"

Akuchi was assuming that the king was injured in the battle. Though Akuchi corrected himself since he could easily be wrong about that. People were willing to protect their king (if he was good enough for them) from 'savage' beasts such as what had attacked them. When he thought about it, hardly anyone knew that these were called the Wolfen. He could use that to his own advantage... At least he hoped so.

Dark green eyes look out from under the hood at the sound of her name. She shifted her slightly weight as he approached, causing her dress to sway a bit. She recognized him but his name alluded her for some reason. Her cloak remained closed as she leaned back against the wall his question surprising her a bit.

"The King is mostly likely cuddled up under his comfortable blankets, sleeping away oblivious to the blow his city just took," she replies something in her voice giving a hint of humor to her words. "As for my underlings, they are fine. As for the company that had been on duty on that section of the city, I would surmise most of them are dead. I haven't taken a count of heads yet."

While speaking Lillian once again let her mind wander to Deekin. He most likely was one of a very few that survived in that company. As she thought about him, she decided that once he healed he would become one of her underlings. Soon enough she would probably have the enjoyable task of cleaning up the mess and then she could make a more accurate estimate.

"You vampires wouldn't happen to know who did this?" She ventures to ask, doubting he'd give her an answer, but asking couldn't hurt. If she did learn something that would be all the better but if not then there is no great loss.

Guarding yourself from the love of another...

Alysha turned back to the castle. The stones were rough under her fingertips, and tickled ever so slightly until they caught and caused a small amount of blood. "I believe I've missed something big," she said to herself, pushing aside one of the doors and heading inside. She walked deeper into the castle and saw many wounded lacing the hallways. She walked into a room and stood there, not directing her attention to anyone. "What happened?" she asked.

((I apologize for the shortness...I haven't much time.))

...Left you with nothing tonight.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:58 pm

Akuchi listened intently to what the Captain had to say. So it seemed that there was a much heavier loss on the Crucian side, even if there were less vampires on the Leibeis. He wondered how the seemingly lazy Crucian king would deal with this when he hears about all of this. His humorous thoughts ended immediately when the question was asked as to who could've done this. From his source, of course, he knew who it was and exactly where they were located too. Still, he wanted this information for himself and only to his trusted individuals, if they were any.

"Well..."

His eyes became dead serious, though the smile remained vaguely apparent. He began to pace back and forth, thinking and having his eyes look around before nodding to the Captain and ceasing his steps altogether.

"It could be another creature with larger claws and better equipment than even us vampires. Though, it could easily be another type of vampire, dear Captain. Or just another monster roaming around."

Everything he said wasn't anything she hadn't already deduced on her own. She'd been hoping for something better but probably put too much faith in the idea of shared information. Her slender shoulders give a little shrug barely noticeable under her cloak. "I suppose any one of those options could be the case," she comments dryly her tone sounding slightly strange. "A monster indeed."

Lillian looks over the vampire's shoulder her green eyes hardening a bit. Even now she wishes she'd been there. Not so much to help but more to fight. She hadn't had a good fight for at least a week or so now. She was itching to kill something, preferably of the undead variety.

"I'd ask where you vampires were when the citizens you so want to get along with were being slaughtered, but I think it is probably a moot point," she nearly sneers just barely catching herself. She really couldn't believe that dope of a King trusted these abomination to protect his city at night.

There was a similar trait within the Captain that Akuchi shared with her. That was simply of the fact that they believed the other race was more superior than the other, despite the treaty that was holding them together, to be able to stand together such as this situation. It was funny that a peaceful treaty could still lead to rivaling manners between the two races. Having the other race of Wolfen enter into such a struggle would be ever so damaging. This made him smile, even grin as his fangs showed but still composed in a gentleman manner. He chuckled quietly then announced in his soft, yet deep voice.

"Touche, Captain."

He eyed her, wondering if he would get what he was saying before bowing his head of white hair. His silver-blue eyes soon began to look down at her from his rather tall height then laced his fingers behind his back. From the cloak, he cleared his throat and decided to speak a bit more on the manner. He raised his hand and began to twirl it about to emphasize his coming words.

"O' sweet Captain Lillian. My comrades have fallen underneath the claws of the mighty beasts that has slew your brethren. Do not mistaken the simple fact that us of the race of night cannot fall easily to mortal wounds, save for the perish of the bright rays of the glowing orb in the sky. Thy comrades have suffered and are suffering. I shant speak if they endure more than the Crucians. However! I shall speak that the matter lies not in the mortal losses and wounds, but on becoming more prepared for such another fight..."

Akuchi ended his speech and stood tall, his hand returning to the one at his back and lacing again, his long nails lightly touching each other. Smiling, he nodded his head as his silver-blue eyes wondered as to how she would reply to this.

With this knife I'll cut out the part of me, the part that cares for you...

Alysha listened to all that was being said. Strange creatures with sharp claws. Interesting...strange, but interesting. Maybe she would explore, look for these creatures. It was something she'd never seen, something that intrigued her very much. She walked through the room full of wounded, trailing her hand through the tapestries on the wall, taking a secret passageway back to the outdoors. She loved walking through th caste, found any excuse she could to do so, even if it was just walking around to head back outside. "The forest," she said. "I think I'll explore the forest tonight," she said, smiling slightly at the echo. She pushed on a heavy wooden door, heading back into the darkness of the night.

With this knife I'll cut out the heart of me, the heart that cares for you.
