Alexei scowled. Losing what patience he had, he decided to ignore the captain altogether and approached the pilot.
"Hey, how close can you get us to the airship?"
The pilot glanced at him. "Why?"
"We gotta get those people off that airship." Alexei leaned on the back of the pilot's chair. "If we can get close enough, maybe they can jump over..."
The pilot nodded, then glanced at the captain. "He won't like it." Nevertheless, they maneuvered the Cutlass closer.

"Who are they?!"
Helena groaned spying the other ship. Reinforcements for the first? Or maybe just a passing crew coming in for help. either way they were getting to close for comfort, if they were friendly in short order they'd be over run with bots to if they came to close.
Helena stamped another down darting back inside, yelling at the top of her lungs as she went to her room.
"If anyone's still here GET YOUR SORRY ARSES ON DECK!"
she finally got to her room, itself starting to get over run, but that didn't amtter, so long at the things weren't smart enough to realize that what they were searching for was up her skirt. The red head grabbed her rucksack, yelling the same warning as before, before returning. Whether they went down on their own or with the help of this looming second airship she wasn't leaving her research behind.

"What the hell are those things?" The pilot had just spotted the clockbots swarming the airship.
"I don't know," Alexei replied. "Just keep our ship close long enough to get people on."
"But what about--"
He grinned and patted the pilot on the shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll keep those nasties off, if they try." Leaving the room at a swift jog, he mumbled to himself, "And attempt communication, but we'll see how that turns out."
It was easier to find his way from the bridge to the outside railing than it had been to find the bridge in the first place. Yanking his cap off and stuffing it into his satchel so it wouldn't be blown off in the wind, he pulled out a gun and made his way to the front. He could see people on the other airship fighting off the bots--maybe he could talk to them.

Christopher continued to tend to the meal that was cooking.
"Why should he have to do anything about the stupid mechaniques that were swarming over the ship?" He thought.
The crew would handle the problem without his help and before you know it would be hungry for their supper. If he stopped to fend off the little critters then he'd catch Hell for not having diner ready on time.
Christopher dipped a wooden spoon into the pot of stew and tasted the contents.
"Ahh, almost done." He said to himself.
From the next room he heard the obnoxious explorer yell for everyone to get on deck.
"The nerve of some people! Giving him orders!?"
Christopher quickly thought of more than a few choice words he would share with the crew later, before he conceded to join them on deck. He figured they wouldn't call on everyone like that unless there really was an emergency.
Christopher grabbed a large metal bowl and placed it over his chef's hat. He clutched his trusty ladle and with a powerful kick, flung the door open. The scene hadn't changed much since he had last chanced a gander from his little kitchen. The weird metal things were still crawling over the deck, though there seemed to be a little less of them. He stepped outside and glanced around for the crew, spying Franz and Spencer.
A small mechanical thing stalked towards him and he calmly gripped his ladle like a golf club before swinging low and pitching the bot off of the side of the ship.
He smugly wiped his hands on his apron and turned to face a dozen more of the creatures. Christopher ran back inside and grabbed a rather large bottle of cooking wine he had been saving. He bit out the cork and took a large swig before starting through the bots, heading towards the other crew members.

Alexei took his place at the most advantageous spot before stuffing his gun back in the satchel, cupping his hands around his mouth, and shouting at the visible crewmembers of the distressed airship.
"OI! Need some help?"

"Not at all, peachy keen really, we're doing this for our own amusement!"
Helena responded in strained tones, voice dripping with sarcasam as she pounded down another bot. Needless to say she appreciated help in her own personal way, one day this inability to accept and be thankful for things at face value would get her into trouble...
She edge closer to the place where the newcomer was standing as the bots gained, it seemed an endless supply of them was at hand.

Alexei arched a brow and mumbled under his breath, "Saucy tart. Well, let's see how good my aim is." Out came the gun again, and he aimed carefully before firing.
One of the clockbots was blasted backwards into a companion from the resulting hit. Three more were also blown apart before Alexei paused, cupping his hands around his mouth again.
"Jump aboard!"

Franz turned, and made a running start, before giving a small jump to plant a foot at the top of the railling and leapping across into the other airship. It was a beautiful leap, perfectly exectueted.
The landing, however, was not as impressive. Mostly because it involved him sprawling out on the floor. Still, Franz had escaped, and for that he was glad.
He looked back across at the other ship, swarming with mechanicals.
"I'm not going to get paid, am I?

Alexei glanced at the man sprawled out on the ground, then returned his attention to sniping the bots. "Depends if your employer comes aboard too." Frowning, he asked, "What happened? Experiment get loose?"

Helena turned and ran to follow Franz over, slow by the drag of her skirt she tumbled over the railing onto the savior ship, glowering at the bots, hugging her notebooks close to her chest. She shifted from foot to foot waitying for the others to cross back over as well, there was obviously no saving the ship.

"Experiment? Nein. Pirates."
Franz stood up, and spared a moment to look at his hands. He grimaced, and flexed his fingers a bit. He cursed softly to himself, and looked around. "You have doctor?"

"Yeah, there should be a doctor or medic of some sort; I can't say for sure since I'm just a passenger." He smiled at Helena, then returned his attention to the ship--and the bots. "How many other people are there?"

"Well...there was the Gad swinging the ladle...The big Russian man...the Captain...and that gun nut... and my body guard" she shook her head. "I didn't see much else." She rolled her shoulders inwardly some iota of her hoping the others got their asses over here quickly.

Alexei exhaled slowly. Five people that she knew of, yet he didn't see anyone but the swarming bots. Blast and curses. "Blast," he mumbled. "Well, I don't know how much longer we're going to be in the vicinity--I sort of undermined the captain's authority in order to get the Cutlass this close in the first place. We'd better hope they all jump over in a jiffy."

Christopher swatted another of the small mechanical bug thingys away before pausing a second to look for the other crew members. Some of them had jumped aboard another airship that must have suddenly come up beside them. The creatures hadn't made it aboard that ship yet.
Christopher could see more of the bots moving towards their would-be savior ship. He glanced down at his bottle of wine to see it about half-full.
"I can do this." He thought as he wiped his mouth with his sleeve and took off for the side of the new ship.
He plowed into the oncoming group of metal monsters, kicking and swinging wildly away at anything that got close enough.
When he reached the side of the ship, he glanced over the side. The sheer drop was staggering, they must have been steadily climbing in altitude without even realizing it because this was not normal.
He called out to the other ship, where a couple of his crew mates had already escaped to.
"Oi! Ya got a rope er somethin'? I ain't jumpin' that."
