Erica looked down at the angry dropped tiger and then back to Umbra. "What's wrong? Umbra are you okay?" Erica waved a hand in front of his eye.

Umbra dropped his arms to his sides, and nodded. He made a fake smile, and knelt down to pet the cat, and avoid her gaze.

Erica sighed, She sat down in the sand and started looking through her bucket of shells, "you're still radiating despair, Umbra, but I will let it pass."

Umbra smiled weakly again, and picked the cat up. He sat down next to Erica with it, hoping it wasn't still angry.

Erica reached out and stroked behind the tigers ears. "You are a strange one, Umbra."

Umbra smiled, and shrugged his shoulders. He still wasn't looking her in the eyes, focusing on the cat as much as possible.

Erica smiled, "but I like you, don't know exactly why, but I do."

Umbra smiled, and then set the cat in the sand. He gave Erica a quick hug, and then ran off into the water.

Erica laughed, surprised with the sudden embrace. She glanced at the cat, who seemed to glance right back with a look that said "no way am I going into that water."

Umbra dove into the water headfirst. He surfaced, and began to float on his back.

Erica walked along the beach her barefeet in the waves as she collected some more seashells. At the previous mention of Ashura, a song got stuck in her head, and without thinking about it she started singing "three blind mice."

Umbra started floating closer to shore, and when he heard Erica singing, he lurched in the water. He gasped for air in surprise, and took in a mouthful of water. He coughed a couple times, and returned to shore, looking like a drowned rat.

Erica kept walking down the shore, not noticing. She picked up some more sea shells, smiling as the tiger pounced after a crab.

Umbra stayed on his hands and knees for a moment, and then stood up. He fixed his hair so that it was covering part of his face, and then returned to the hotel.

Kitty watched all this in the distance, then finally waded back to shoer and dried off her legs, annoyed by how much sand was sticking between her toes.
