I was an Edward Scissorhands baby. I saw it by accident on TV and was all like 'hearts stars and rainbows'. So he ended up being the first actor I recognised/got excited about from role to role.

I learned of Johnny from POTC but was never really hooked untill I saw Sleepy Hollow. Thats what really got my attention once I saw that I started draining the stocks of Johnny Depp from block buster twisted mrgreen

I first saw him in Edward Scissorhands back in 1995, and I was instantly hooked.

hmm tricky question i think a mixture of having seen chocolat and loving it and then sleepy hollowand finally seeing potc did it for me so i wanted to see his other stuff so i rented things like 'From Hell' and 'Chocolate' again and i love them more and more!

The odd thing is I've always loved him but never knew who he was. gonk Edward siccor hands, loves him like a god. Never knew he was Depp. That dude from sleepy hollow, loved him. It was when I saw potc was when I found out who he was. I would watch the tv spots and say to myself "damn he's hot" but never knew who he was. I didn't want to tell anyone I thought he was hot because Jack Sparrow looks weird. xp But then I found out who he was and ...

It had to be with Edward Scissorhands. That was the first time I started really noticing what a great actor he was, and how he could tackle any role and pull it off with grace. No one else could play Edward Scissorhands, or Jack Sparrow, or Icabod Crane quite like him.
And what got me truly obsessed is his collaborations with Tim Burton (My favorite director, if that isn't obvious.) The two understand each other and trust each other's judgement. (I think Johnny Depp once said that if Tim wanted to film him staring at a lightbulb for an entire movie, he'd do it. Or something to that effect.) There's nothing quite like a Johnny Depp/Tim Burton/Danny Elfman movie.

I was definitely a 'what's eating gilbert grape' fan, (thats the second movie of johnny's i ever saw; the first was sleepy hollow) but i didnt really extremely fall in love with him until i saw Edward Scissorhands.

Seeing so many of these movies with the same guy when I was younger and never making the connection. xd
I think it began with Nightmare on elm street, Sleepy Hollow, then I saw the Ninth Gate, onto Edward Scissorhands, and then From Hell. It wasn't until POTC I finally made the connection. Wow i'm pathetic. Or it just shows I wasn't too interested in movies or actors back then. Anyway! there ya have it.

I saw Sleep Hollow and liked it, but after Pirates of the Caribbean, I wanted to own that and Sleep Hollow and every movie that Johnny Depp was in that I've seen. xd

I am newer so Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I seen him in like Pirates of the Carribean and I thought he was soooo wow and then I saw him in Edward Scissorhands when it was on TV...but I just like didn't realize something I guess...maybe I was stupid! But when I saw him as Willy Wonka I was like oh my gosh this guy is sooo hugable and yeah. And so after that I just ended up Mister Depp crazed and you can't help but love him ya know?

The 1st Depp Movie I've seen was Edward Scissorhands, but I was so smal (like 5 or something) that it scared me. sweatdrop xd
Then I've seen Sleepy Hollow and I loved it...but I don't knew Johnny Depp was in it. xd sweatdrop xd sweatdrop
I've finally hooked on Johnny Depp when I've seen Pirates of the Carribean. I'll quote chan for his description:
"oh my gosh this guy is sooo hugable and yeah"
And still most hoocked when I knew than he played in Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow.
I've gone mad of laughing by watching Benny and Joon.
This guys is so cool!

The 1st Johnny Depp film I saw was Edward Scissorhands. My mom introduced it to me like this (this is in 2001...I believe):
Mom: Hey Katie...have you seen Edward Scissorhands with Johnny Depp?
Me: Who-and-who?
Mom: ...YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! First, you haven't seen The Matrix, now you haven't seen Edward Scissorhands?! What kind of parents are we?!
Me: o___o;;;
So...we go out and rent it. I enjoy it. =DD
