Autsu mimed Kian's gesture, then turned back to Sussare's bed, measuring out the approximate amount of cloth they needed. Of course, he was left holding two feet of a much longer piece of bedding, unsure of how to get just the length he needed. It had not occurred to him, the need to cut.
"Have you got a knife?" He asked Kian, hopefully.
They could make the trek back to his room, or take the whole of the cloth, but he hoped that it might not be necessary.

His dark head shook in a negative manner at that question, taking a step over towards his comrade. Kians hand rose, brandishing the dark red nails that were all too sharp for a child to posses.
"Parental does not allow me blades." His grumble was soft, free hand moving to wrap around Autsus hand. It was a precautionary measure, keeping him steady as the other hand moved to first pierce the cloth and then slice through it. It held remarkably well but, considering Kian was built like a reptile, it hadn't come to a surprise to him when he found just how sharp his nails were.
He peered at the clothes cut when he he dropped his friends hand, flexing his fingers briefly. "Does not cut perfectly but it does... decently well."
Kian took a step back, glancing around the room before throwing a look to the door. "The mission on this level is near completed, ally. We should be off."

"Your guardian is occasionally short sighted." Autsu's response was mild, his attention more focused on the task at hand than on his allies restrictions. Still, he didn't approve. It was something he would rectify, soon. "You could offer much protection, should there be a need. He does not seem a fighter."
A nod of approval as Kian made use of his nails, though the winged one did not quite smile. "I see you do not go so unarmed as might be thought, ally. Well done."
He did his best not to gaze at his friends fingers as he spoke, tried not to study the compliment of black skin against black again.
"Yes, we should be gone."

"Parental claims the tail and the nails are enough." He shrugged slightly, the movements short and brief. "That I am too violent and angry to have any weapons beside those and my staff."
There was no bitterness there, not at all. The lines of his mouth tightened briefly, all three eyes fluttering open to gaze at the cloth and his friends hand. Nails scraped briefly against the others skin as his attention went elsewhere, taking a step back and towards the door.
"Let us be gone then, Tsu."
This time, it was Kian who slid from the room first. The mission was all but over; he knew how to get back to Autsus room. There was no hesitation in his footsteps this time, tail still loose behind him as they began the movement back.

Well, he'd said something wrong, there. Autsu's ever serious expression gained a slightly displeased edge, though it was a difficult change to read, all things considered. Thoughtful, he followed his friend out into the hallway, and back into their room. Just as they pushed open the door, the sound of a chair being pushed back could be heard, and the blue eyed teen was quickly glad for the speed of their mission.
Closing the door silently behind them, Autsu took a seat on the edge of his bed, and looked to Kian, trying, in part, to judge the other boy's mood.
"Well done, Ally. We have the materials we need now, yes?" The subject of weapons, or the lack of them, could be discussed later.
They had all night.

"Yes, my friend. It's a simple, crude weapon. But it can kill."
Over the course of... hell, Kian didn't know how long, the dark alien showed his equally dark friend just how to use the sling. Autsus bare room provided ample space for demonstrations and while it WAS a crude weapons, the wrist and arm movement took quite a bit to perfect. Even Kian, with his new nails and the webbing in his fingers, had to try to get better at it then he was.
It was a long time before Kian noticed how tired he was. It was getting late. There had been stress, a fight, a mission and then there had been practice for a steady period of time. His muscles were slightly sore, as swimming didn't provide him with this sort of ache, despite the careful precision of their movements... Well. Prehaps that only made it worse.
Augh. He had gotten so soft.
Kians hand rose to halt the others movement with the sling, the meat of his palm rubbing at his right eye.
"I do not think I can continue, 'Tsu. It is late and I am.." Eyes leaned down to stare at himself. "..Apparently out of shape despite my best efforts. Forgive me."

It was, Autsu had quickly discovered, not easy work. It required a sense of aim that was not imparted by guns, which more directly hit where you wished them to hit. This took more thought, and it was late in the night before he felt he was getting the idea of it. Late in the night, and he was worn from the work. It could not be said that he was unhappy to hear that Kian was tired. He too, had reached exhaustion.
At least, the work had kept his mind off other things. He felt calm, if not entirely at peace.
"I too find myself tiring. You challenge me, Anne. This is not a weapon I have ever known." He rolled his shoulder vainly attempting to release some of the the tension that had built up there.
"Come, let us sleep. You, ally, take the bed. It is comfortable enough." He stepped over to the bed then, taking one of the pillows and setting it on the floor beside his bed. "I fear I am not pleasant, at night."

"Are you not? I tend to kick, I am told." Kian made a face that wasn't so much bitter or upset that it was amused then anything. The fact that he had a nervous twitch in his sleep was something that he didn't think he could HAVE. It meant he had dreams.
Dreams were new to Kian, like so many other things. He remembered very few of them.. But that was enough, for him.
"What of yourself?"
The question was said nearly absently, Kian making a move to his bag before faltering. Another question boiled at his mind. He had seen his siblings wearing different garments to bed - Iamel usually slept in his pants - but he wasn't exactly sure on how they ...did things... here.
"....what do I wear? I have pants for tomorrow but I do not..think I should... wear what I usually do." Or what he didn't, really. Clothing that covered him so completely was utterly new to him. Like dreams. Here was he looked really helpless, looking over to his friend and gesturing in a futile manner, eyebrows knotting up briefly.

"I thrash as well. I also--" He hesitated, now wishing that perhaps they had arranged for Kian to go home when evening came. It was too late for that. "scream. Sometimes. Perhaps not tonight."
He cried as often as he screamed but he would spare himself the shame of admitting that. His tears, at least, were often silent. Kian was not likely to see.
"I will be comfortable on the floor. It is soft enough. And it will keep us from bruising each other further." He was calm, even business like as he discussed the sleeping arrangements. He was not going to even allow for the possibility of them sharing a bed.
And when the question of night clothing came up, well, he managed to at least sound as calm as he had before. "I have a some sleeping clothing you may use, should you wish. Though they are cut with my wings in mind."
The size difference, he was not concerned about. He wore them loose, with a draw string. They should fit, even if they were a bit long.

"Is there something I should do if you do start to scream, ally? To calm you or anything of the sort?" Kian himself.. he woke up in cold sweats from dreams he couldn't remember, breathing as if he had just ran a race and his claws and upper thighs red from where they had penetrated his lower garments. The flesh healed rather well, leaving barely tangible marks along him. That, Autsu didn't need to know.
He eyed his friend anyway, gaze slowly going along that thin frame. It wasn't that he doubted Autsu. The other probably had a better eye then he did, after all. The clothing he wore was baggy enough... and if it didn't fit, he still had his pants for the next day.
"If you do not think I would make them explode at the seams," He joked, softly, "I would be honored, ally. I thank you. I... did not think ahead."

"If it does not stop, you might try awakening me. But I usually wake myself." This was true. He did not know if it was the dreams content or the noise he made, but something usually jolted him awake on those nights he found himself screaming. The nights of tears, those were different. He could cry all night, and dream on. Wake at morning to swollen eyes, a headache and too many memories. This would not be such a night. He would not allow it.
Moving to his closet, he took out two sets of PJs, one grayish blue and the other dark amber. The amber, he pushed into Kian's hands. They were a soft material, satin. His father's pick. He would have chosen cotton which served well enough.
"I will go prepare for bed, and change." There were after all, teeth to be brushed, and other such niceties. "It will be only a moment."
He headed for the door then, the same one they had snuck through hours before.

"Mm."
He was distracted by the fabric when his friend left the room. Kian changed quickly - the bagginess worked to his advantage. His butt wasn't pressed too tightly against the fabric and the fact that his tail was a few bones above the lowest lumbar situated his tail quite comfortably over the hem of the pants.
Kian was curled up on the ground near the others pillow, leaning against the bed. His tail was wrapped around his legs, knees pulled up to his chest in the picture of pleased contentment. The aliens face was half-buried in his collar, the satin brushed against his cheek and that third eye was closed curiously.
When Autsu DID arrive back in, Kian simply peeked up to him. He didn't try to explain why half f his face was tucked against his chest in a beetle-esque fashion. He just made a small noise, peering up at him still.
"....hi."

Autsu reentered his room to see Kian curled within the PJs he'd left them, peering up from the floor.
Well, that was unexpected. Most things were, tonight. Too tired to react, worn mentally and physically, he just nodded, and gestured to the bed. "Let us sleep Comrade. I will guard from the floor, in case of monsters. You guard from above, in case of dreams."
It was an inane little statement, actually a twisted version of something said to children back at home, though with little of the original ring to it. Studying his own words, he paused, and hissed something in his own language.
"A wish for safe sleep." He explained.
It was not, exactly.
It was a promise of safety, from a soldier to his superior. It was close enough.
