Dara watched the conversation between Matthias and Halen in silence ready to jump in if need be, but let out a small sigh as the house head allowed him to stay. She took a deep breath before walking to the head of the table noticing a couple of chairs left empty. As she had expected Cane was late, but what surprised her most was her aunt wasn't sitting at the table yet. Always astute, her aunt had always been to such meetings before anyone else. Something must be going on between her family again. Sighing she stood behind her seat waiting for the others to arrive.
The door burst open not but ten seconds latter to reveal Cane standing there with an angered expression on his face.

"What's this about you allowing a wolf not within the heads council in!?!" he growled ignoring the whole room as he glared at Dara.

Dara scowled at they way he dared burst into the room, and took it as a direct attack at her authority. Within these walls she would not tolerate such disobedience, especially from one given rank as a Head. "I should remind you to mind your place, Cane," she growled, a threat heavy in her voice. "Whether I bring another wolf here is between me, them, and their Head, and unless you happen to be that Head it doesn't involve you. Should you ever make such an outburst here again, I shall not be this legniengt. Now, take your seat or get out of here!"

Cane looked visibly angered as he slammed the door behind himself and in a huff sat at the table. He exumed unmasked anger, which really made Dara angered with him more than anything. She might have actually considered him as a mate, were he not so angered at the merest glance from a man towards her. But as it was, he was much to controlling a wolf for her, and she knew he would try to take over the pack would he ever be taken as her mate.

"I may bow down to you, Alpha, but there are others here who still question your ability to lead the pack," he said in anger towards her.

Dara growled at him. "And are you one of them, Cane?" she asked, her voice barely more than the growl of her wolven side. She lowered her head, her gaze flaring at him at the way he was acting in front of others. Her gaze was so sharp and precise that had it been a blade it could have sliced through metal.

Cane visibly bit his lip, realising that he had spoken in anger and that it was about to turn on him. "I didn't mean-"

His words were cut off as Dara raised her hand to silence him. "I am in no mood for this, right now, Cane," she growled. "If you wish to threaten my power, do so latter when there aren't such pressing maters at hand. As it is now, either shut up or I'll made you shut up. Understand?"

With that, Cane visibly sobered, his anger washing away as his eyes turned nuetral. "Yes, Alpha."

Dara really needed to do something with him, soon. No other head ever challenged her leadership in such a way. Heck, no other Head ever spoke out in anger while within these walls. They all were calculating here as they knew any decision they made would effect all of their pack.

Just as Dara began to worry for her aunt, the older woman, and the only other female in the room, walked in briskly. She looked angered at something and Dara could guess she had gotten into a fight again with Trisha, her daughter and Dara's cousin. Those two just couldn't get along anymore.

"Excuse my tardiness, Alpha," she said as she stalked to her chair.

Dara gave a breif nod as if to say 'no-need.'
"Everyone present and accounted for?" she asked, uneededly as she knew every face in the room by heart. Everyone was there, which was a good sign, meaning the vampires didn't know all their leaders yet.

A wide grin formed across Sesheta's face. "Thanks," she said in gratefulness. The young werewolf's name hadn't effected her at all. She didn't remember hearing it before, but she did recognize the title the girl had given. Sesheta's own father, if she recalled correctly, had a similar title in vampire terms. I may be in over my head, she thought to herself.

She took the cloak and flipped it around onto her shoulders. Then she placed the hood on, covering her hat. The long sleeves draped over her arms. She clasped her hands together allowing the thick cloth to settle together. "I'm not about to let another werewolf see me," she assured Trisha, being careful not to insult the girl with any lingo her vampire bretheran used. "Ready when you are!"

Matthias watched Cane's entrance unfold into quite the melodrama. He was amused, but let no traces of amusement appear in his expression. It was a silent amusement, and that was that. He could call upon this moment later on in life should a time ever arise when Cane and himself entered conflict, of either the physical or mental sort. It was a great weakness in the wolf's armor, and one easily exploited, should the need ever arise. Though he may be a great warrior physically, psychology had its ways of circumventing strength. He had no fear for Cane, and relatively little respect after that outburst. He was even tempted to speak out against the brazen house leader, but saw it best not to. It would be out of place, and immediately lower himself in the eyes of all those present, and in Matthias's mind, they were just about the only other wolves that mattered in his mind. So he waited, and listened.

Trisha nodded to Sesh. "Fallow me," she said, begining to guide Sesh away from the Nest and through the small city that was her home. As they walked, a few wolves would glance questioning stares towards Trisha, as they saw her guiding someone under such a thick cloak, but none of them drew closer to actually ask as they didn't dare ask from one such as she.
For once, glad to have her title, as it allowed unwanted attention to not want to seek her out, Trisha sighed. This might just work.

"Trisha!! Trisha!!"

Trisha cursed audibly as she turned to see her younger brother running towards her.
"Stay there," she said to Sesh, placing herself between her brother and the vampire, as if afraid he might be able to identify Sesh as a vampire.

"What is it?" she asked iratably.

"Mom..." he breathed as he reached her before lowering his voice to a low whisper meant for only Trisha's ears. "Mom's worried. She had word from Dara that they found her two bodygaurds dead in the woods last night, killed by a group of vampires."

Trisha's eyes widened as she angled a glance to Sesh. Could the vampire be one of the ones to have killed them? If it was so, then she would be bannished from the pack for helping Sesh, for the murder of a wolf was punnishable only by death and helping the murderer was either punnished by banishment or death. Trisha bit her lip as she thought over what her little brother was telling her.

"Where's Mom?" Trisha asked.

"She was called into a council meeting," the boy said.

Trisha sighed. There was no way to stop her choice now, but still she wanted some real answers from Sesh once Trisha had gotten them to a safer place.

"Thank you, Brother," Trisha sighed. "Now, go back to the nest and tell Mom that I will take the bit of caution that she obviously sent you over to give me."

Her brother nodded and ran back off towards the nest.

Sighing, Trisha eyed Sesh for a second, warily. "Come on," Trisha said, beginning to lead them again. In wasn't till they were a ways out of the city. A small cottage lay there with a beatiful garden and tall grass.

"This is the safest place in the city," Trisha said. She didn't care to mention that it was the safest because all magic was negated on this one spot alone. She didn't think the vampire would be all to happy with that tidbit of knowledge.

Dara sighed autibly as every sat accounted for. Steading herself she began to speak.
"My fellow pack members," she said, beginning as formal as possible. "I am sure you know why we are here already, as it wasn't a gaurded secret. Two of our pack members were killed in cold blood. This may seem no different than any other time, as we were still able to best the vampires and survive, but it is beginning to happen more and mpore frequently now, and their plans are becoming more tactical, and planned.
"We are only depleting in number as every year goes by, while they are only growing stronger. For every one of us there are a dozen more of them. There is no avoiding this fact. But we cannot allow this to go on any further. I feel that the longer this lasts the less likelier we are to be able to survive. I wish not to have this battle to go on forever, but vampires and ourselves cannot exist in peace, it is the way of life. So please, my fellow pack members, I ask that we impliment a full plan as to winning this battle, or at least giving one hell of a final battle."

There was a hushed murmer that washed over the entire room. They had talked over an all out war for more than one generation, but they saw it as signing their death warrant, for if they did move from their skirmishes to an all out to the death war, neither side would stop untill it had ended, and their stood only one victor.
"Why should we turn to war now," one of the heads, Lion, said. He was an older wolf with more experience in the art of combat than anyone Dara knew. He was a truly old wolf, as the wrinkles on his face would attest to, but he could still defeat an entire army of vampires. "We have faught them for countless generations, but it has always been in small battles, never a true war. Part of that is because the last war between vampires and werewolves killed all our race save the three packs that didn't fight, and still the vampires managed to servive and continue the battle that none of our packs ever wished to take part in. Why should we risk our final pack dying out in one swoop again?"

"Are you such a wimp that you think we would fall to the vampires so easily," Cane said. "We can kill them. We have for countless centuries in every skirmish."

"We would never fall to the vampires easily," Lion said, calmly as Cane grew in anger. "The battle will be hard and long faught but I fear in the end we will die."

"How can you-" Cane began but was stopped as Dara put her hand up to silence the room.

"Lion brings up a good point," she stated calmly. "The last battle was an even battle in numbers as our ancestors faught off the vampires. And now I am proposing war when our numbers are so few to them. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sence, but we are dieing out there. Gone are the true alpha's of our pack save for me. Gone are the tidings of joy that once graced us whenever there is a new birth to the pack. Instead we feel dread for those new pups as we know that they may very well be the last generation born of our pack. We live in fear that we shall become extinct everyday. And it must stop. I don't care how it ends, but it must end. I prefer that if it must end with us dieing, that we die fighting than die sitting around here, waiting for the small skirmishes to eventually kill us all out."

There was another roar of both aproval and disaproval in the room.
"Alpha," her aunt said from her side, imediatly silencing the room as when Dara's aunt spoke it was usually of importance. "You said they killed two of our pack members today. Why?"

Dara thought on this. "I'd assumed it was to get to me. We have one of their vampires held here to be questioned latter. Matthias, what say you?"

The vampire's ears perked up at the information of a vampire attack in the village. I'm lucky that I haven't been executed yet, she bad humorly thought. I may not be alive by the end of the day if this werewolf thinks I had something to do with the attack.

Sesheta happily went into the cottage. The thick coat was getting warm considering that she also had her own heavy coat on. When she was in the cottage, she threw off both coats onto a chair. Her white scar shown in the room brightly.

The charade that she was a boy wasn't lost in losing her shapeless coat. Her chest was bound so much that any curves that were there didn't show.

Sesheta fell into another chair heavily. A sigh escaped her lips. She was very tired from staying up so long; she had been awake for almost three days now. It was normal for her to go without sleep because she could walk in the sun. The curse had allowed her to gain distance, a blessing in itself.

"Is it okay if I sleep?" the vampire asked Trisha as she looked outside, keeping out of the light that came through the window. The beauty of the world in daylight always intregued her. Nothing had the colors like they had in day at night. On her own, though, Sesheta had found flowers that only bloomed at night. Those were special and very rare to her people. Or at least the few that weren't thinking war all the time.

Trisha sighed as she walked into the cottage. They were out of sight from any wolf for now, for none ever ventured here unless a magical ailment was apon them. Apon which a month in this cottage stopped any magic from harming them and they could leave. None quite knew why this spot was such that all magic was negated but Dara and Trisha had guessed at it a long time ago, thinking that someone powerfull indeed had died here, laying a curse to the ground itself.

Looking to Sesh after she spoke, Trisha closed the door and nodded.
"Yes, this is the one place within the city that I can assure you safety," she said taking up a seat at the table in the room and finding her book where she had left it last time she had been forced to stay here from dealing with a particularly vicious vampire.

Sesheta's ears perked at the familiar sound of a book being opened. She quickly turned around to see the book Trisha had in her hand. A childish grin lite up her face, her tireness gone. "Are there anymore books around here?" she asked hopefully. The request was very honest and had no tricks behind it. I haven't seen a book in a long while, she thought. The prospect that a book was in reach was all she needed to stay awake.

Trisha laughed at the vampire's eagerness.
"Umm... I think I have another one stashed somewhere around here," she laughed and looked around as she thought about where she may have left the other book. Biting her lip in thought it was a moment later that her eyes widened as she realized where she had left the other one. Standing she walked to a large chair and reached under it. Finding the secret compartment underneath she slid out a book and brought it over to Sesh.
"Here, this one is pretty good if I remember correctly."

"Great!" Sesheta exclaimed and grabbed the book out of Trisha's hand. Swiftly, she made her way back to her chair, opening the book up before she was even seated. When she sat down, she stretched her left arm above her head and crossed her legs on top of table. If her eyes could've gotten any bigger, now was the time. They scanned the pages in ernest to attain what was written. If one was observant, they could almost guess she was a girl, for all her boyish features. Reading a book always removed Sesheta's practiced boyish habits. It brightened up her face abnormally, but it was her favorite pass time by far.

Stumbling over a raised root in the ground, Selyna cursed under her breath as her hair flew into her face and eyes when she landed on one knee, her free hand catching her. Running her fingers through her hair, she took a bit of string she had on her belt, tied it up into a messy ponytail and adjusted her bag. Never really caring about how she looked to others, she rubbed most of the dirt off of her hand onto her once white tank top. She’d had it for years, so it fit her a bit more than it should have, especially with her being well endowed, but again, she didn’t care and the weather was warm. Her pants were baggy and covered in grass stains and dirt and there was no telling what color her shoes had originally been, but it was obvious from the wear on them she’d had them for quite a while. Looking around, she thought she saw a faint light up ahead and moved towards it slowly and as quietly as humanly possible. Now in clear sight of the cottage she decided against raiding the place for food since the light was on and moved in the shadows around it, heading towards a city she didn’t know was there. Unless she found a werewolf to answer her question, she’d pickpocket here and beg a little there to get enough money to move on. Yawning a bit, tired from all the travel, Selyna rubbed her eye, leaving a dark muddy smudge just below her left eye. Hope the food’s better here than the last place…

Trisha laughed at the vampire's eagerness for the book.
"I have to say, I haven't met that many boys, let alone vampires, that like to read," she said jokingly, about to return to her own book. It was then that she noticed something moving in the woods. It was probably just some animal but still, Trisha had to go see what it was just in case.
"Hey," she said to Sesh, "I'm going to catch some fresh air. You, stay here, and enjoy the book."
Trisha glanced back at the vampire then before leaving the cottage to stand outside it.

Her yawn caught in her throat as Selyna stopped cold hearing the door open, hurrying behind a tree she tried peeking around to see what was happening. Maybe they're leaving now… I could probably get something out of there before they come back… The light on the person’s back as they came out, she couldn’t see their face, but could tell it was a woman. Grinning to herself at how easy this was going to be once the woman left, she shifted a bit and caused a stick to break under her feet. Cursing under her breath again, she knelt down and picked up the heaviest thing she could find, a thick branch, and tossed it away from where she actually was, hoping it would distract the woman long enough for her to find some food or valuables and get out.

Trisha jumped as she heard a twig snap. Some Sucanti I am, she thought bitterly as she turned her head towards the sound only to hear a swishing sound as if something was being thrown. Quickly fallowing the sound with her eyes, as only a werewolf could, she saw that is was just a twig. So, that meant someone was trying to throw her off. She lifted her head slightly, a jesture common of her wolven form, as she scented the air and smelled the muskier scent of a human. Her brow creased as she seamed to recognise the smell, but where had she smelled it before. Stepping towards the scent she came around the cottage slowly. Her brow creased in curiousity.

Aw hell... Selyna had come to learn about a few of the gestures of werewolves and vampires and the head tilting was definitely something a werewolf did when tracking. Tensing as the werewolf began coming closer, she knew there was no chance for her if she ran. But if I climb.... Looking at the tree she was behind, the branches were too far above her to climb easily, but the tree to left of her a good five yards away had a branch low enough for her to reach if she got a running start. Taking a last look at the woman coming towards her Selyna made a dash for the tree. She would jump off the trunk and grab for the branch, swinging her legs up to make it easier to climb. She still hadn’t got a glimpse of the face, but she hoped it wasn’t an angry one.

Trisha made it around the cottage in time to see a young girl about to jump into a tree a few yards off.
"Hey, you," she called running after her quickly. There was something about that girl that seemed oddly familiar.
"Stop!" she called, emidiatly angered at the fact that she couldn't summon her magic to help in the situation. Frustrated she relied on her wolven strength to follow as she bounded after the girl. "Hey!"
