I've heard a lot of good things about it. Sadly I've never heard it.

Its growing on me slowly, I at least can go back to it and listen to it willfully without skipping it all together on my playlist now.
I think its still lacking something...too gimmicky maybe...

You know...its really kind of irritating that I cant decide whether I like Gazette or not (and since when did they start to call themselves THE Gazette...its almost as ludicrous as Kagrra adding a comma to their name...What's with bands spontaneously altering their band names, anyway).
They seem like good showmen, their lives are certainly a dazzling spectacle, but I consistently feel that I've heard more solid and original musicianship in smaller, less hyped bands.
Maybe its 'cause PSCompany pumps money and time into them so much that they have such a highly produced gloss, but they still cannot breech that last hurdle of legitimacy for me...
I mean...Aoi...good lord...it just seems he tries to hard sometimes...calm down boy, you don't need to bend yourself backwards with every guitar lick and gesticulate wildly with your arms with every riff...just be yourself, you know?
And the music...is fairly generic, sometimes they break out a catchy chorus or a hooky riff, but their songwriting and dare I say...musical skill is definitly not on par with some smaller bands...
Ruki oozes superstar, drums and bass are adequate, but the guitars fail big time for me...
They exist in this uncomfortable spot for me, between being able to appreciate them as a legitimate band and thinking they're just not up to snuff for the kind of attention they receive from fans and management alike.

Sai-kun I mean...Aoi...good lord...it just seems he tries to hard sometimes...calm down boy, you don't need to bend yourself backwards with every guitar lick and gesticulate wildly with your arms with every riff...just be yourself, you know? Many guitarists feel the need to get into their music physically in order to play it well. I'm the same way with my singing. Sai-kun Ruki oozes superstar, drums and bass are adequate, but the guitars fail big time for me... I believe that each member of the band is talented. One reason I have a big appreciation for the band is BECAUSE of the guitars. Uruha plays with somewhat of a 70's american classic rock feel, which is my other favorite genre of music. You might not like the sound, but it doesn't mean they're not talented. But whatev, if Gazette isn't your forte, then it doesn't matter. There are certain bands that don't appeal to some.

You might not like the sound, but it doesn't mean they're not talented. But whatev, if Gazette isn't your forte, then it doesn't matter. There are certain bands that don't appeal to some. Gazette has their moments. Aoi cheeses it up too much. It's just like...give the boy a tranq, please. He sticks out like a sore thumb among the others. There's a difference between being active and engaged and being a total ham. That kind of behavior might fit in better if the band were an indie band playing on a small stage, but in the big venues they play these days, it seems really out of place. My problem with them is that their music feels very generic to me. They're adequate, but nothing pulls me in and tells me that there's anything worth listening to here. For instance...I've fallen asleep when Gazette comes on my winamp playlist, its just that bad. I can't tune into them like I can with some other bands I feel are more original and more vibrant. I feel that they're just mediocre, yet they receive so much hype (but hell, thats the way PS Company does things. They're just a giant hype machine) and praise from the fans. I'm just wondering if I'm missing the magical drug that is Gazette. They are well polished, never miss a note or a beat, but have no real inner light... Or is it just because they are so pretty and have such high production values and are everywhere you turn that people like them so much...I dunno.

I've been into Gazette for about 6 months now, and I have to say, that, like Dir en grey, they change alot. But they're more random than they are in they're songs, in my opinion.
Dir en grey is, and probably will be, my top favorite J-rock band off all time, but Gazette is riiiiiiight next to them.
They're newest NIL album (if i've got good info. XP ) seems to be pretty good. Crucify Sorrow, Naseau & Shudder, Maggots, Taion and DISCHARGE are all awesome songs that keep me hooked. Sadly, odds of you finding these songs on Youtube are slim to none, so yeah... Limewire's where I get mine.
They seem to be going to a more 'heavy metal' (I use that term lightly) sound, but they're doing it pretty well, if I have to say.
Uruha, and Reita are god... next to Kaoru and Kyo (of course razz ) So yah, really good band xD
