I believe everyone has the right from birth to chose the religion they feel most comfortable celebrating.

I myself am still searching for mine, and right now I am pretty pleased with Paganism.
<3

It excite's me so.
It is the first religion I have celebrated that I can truly say I enjoy and find I can express myself freely without being criticized within it.

I love it.

I'm a Christian. A Baptist and raised that way since I was born. Baptized at 6 and remaining in the faith. I do stand up for my beliefs, but I do have many friends that are not Christian, and even though it makes me sad, I respect their opinions. I'm not a 'turn or burn' Christian, but I do go out on mission work and try to spread the gospel. If you disagree, fine, I will not deny you your right of freedom of religion, but I will not change mine. I hold firm on the belief of loving all, even though they are different or you may not like them, because I kind act is still a kind act in any religion.

Oh my.

Ok, now I shall get you all to hate me! -Cheers-

I'm proudly Pagan.

There's a slight catch, though. I don't strictly believe in the Pagan beliefs.

And no. I'm not one of those Wiccan-wanna-be's. They piss me off.

-Rambles about stuff-

I am Christian (Baptist to be more specific), but Paganism fascinates me. I have loads of books on Paganism and whatnot. I used to read all of these teen book series that had to do with magic, but it all seemed a bit fake to me, so I started researching. I'm not sure what you would classify as a Wiccan-wanna-be, like I don't know what is really true to the religion, and what beliefs are concrete, and what fluff is thrown in to just make it look appealing to those that have a stereotypical view of Pagans.

I...really don't have a religion. o_o;

I guess the closest thing I'm to is agnostic.

I take offense to your comment about homo/bisexual people. Yes, some of it is actual genetic alterations, but don't call them a mistake of nature. Who's to say that heterosexuals aren't the ones messed up? Some attraction to the same gender is just curiosity. Everyone gets curious. And then what about hermaphrodites? Huh? Are they ********, too?

Thank you. One of the key reasons I refuse to join almost any religion is there issues with homosexuals and bisexuals. With all of my heart, it just hurts when someone tells me they're going to Hell just because they're not like everyone else. It HAS been prove that you can be born more fememine or masculine, even if you are of the opposite sex. It's not like they're completely given the choice. So they're forced to go to Hell even just because they were born that way?

This isn't supposed to offend...but I can't understand why anyone could bash another just because of their sex preference.

Sky-sama
Now, back to the topic of Hell. It's actually quite nice. And Satan isn't horrid, you know. If you know anything about the Black Bible, that is. Yep, a Black Bible. It's not a Satanic Bible. Satanism isn't even a religion, anyway. It's all self-worship. But anyway, back to the topic. The Black Bible states that yes, Satan wants to 'bring Hell to Earth.' What people don't understand is the fact that Satan doesn't want to kill everyone and smite them. (That's God's job, anyway) He simply wants to create passage from this plain to 'Heaven' and 'Hell.' Free for everyone. He wants to get rid of all those pricks to are blind to only their religion. Give the guy a chance, really. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to take trips to either one? Yeah. That'd be nice. <3 But of course, Black Bibles are hard to come by. The truth is always hidden, remember that. There are only very few left in existance, due to book- burning. Of course, you could visit the Pope and see if you might be able to steal it. But that's another broken commandment.

Okay. With this. Why is it that if you don't believe in one religion you're going to Hell? One of my Christian friends told me that I was going to Hell because it was just "part of her religion". She probably didn't realize it, but that couldn't have hurt more coming from one of my friends. A lot of religions believe this (which is another reason I won't pick up one), but doesn't that mean we're all going to Hell? In a sort of sense?

And I've been interested about certain things retaining to Christianity. I read the whole the lost book of Enoch which really got me thinking. The Fallen Angels are seriously a whole part of us. It tells that since Satan got jealous of us and how god favored us over them (the angels), he lead a revolt against god. God banished them to be "Fallen Angels", which follows with many names. But why is god so leniate towards humans? Just never got that concept...never really did...

These are just my opinions. If I offended anyone, don't take it seriously. I know that not all Christians believe in every small tidit of their religion...but some people do. And all I want to find out is why they believe in those things.

I would ramble about my religion but I'm too tired. But erin does have an Official Religous Rant in her journal. If you're interested clicky go to my journal and I think you'll have to visit the archive, since I don't think it's on the first page any more. (oh, and I know there are two of them, gaia logged me out while in the process of posting the first. So don't comment on the one by anonymous since I can't always access that one. If you do comment do so on the one that says it was posted by me. Thank you! 3nodding )

While I understand what Sama was talking about with the comment about "Wanna-be Wiccans," I have to clarify that Wicca is a denomination of Paganism in much the same way that Baptists are a denomination of Christianity. It is an actual, recognized form of Pagan Religion. It just happens to be about 30 years old or so (give or take) rather than the thousands of years old that true Paganism is. And I also have to say that Christianity's usual stand on Homosexuality is what turns me off about it quite frequently. But there are other things about it that I don't like as well...Like the countless wars waged in the name of a so-called loving God who's own rules include "Thou Shalt Not Kill," "Let he who is without Sin cast the first stone," "Hate the Sin and love the Sinner," and my personal favorite, the idea of turning the other cheek when one is slighted or wronged. I also take issue with what I like to call "Barbarian Persecution." If you look up the word "Barbarian," it's literal transaltion simply means "Not like us." And the Christians (on the whole, as a religion and not as individuals) seem to take delight in the persecution of anyone who is "not like them." Perhaps it comes from the times where they themselves were persecuted by the Romans. It's funny how in many situations those who were persecuted and discriminated against will turn into those who persecute and discriminate against others, but that's another topic.

Oh...and my personal opinion? "Satan" or whatever you choose to name that particular entity, is an icon found only in Christian texts. Period. EVERY other religion notes the duality of man himself (or herself) and creates their God(s) accordingly. Therefore, in my opinion, "Satanists" are just Christians who are worshiping the other side of the Christian coin as it were. Just a little food for thought.

I do practice a religion, Catholicism, but I don't agree with everything that Catholics say and believe. I don't really practice but I do believe in a GOD AND a DEVIL (Call them what you may, I think that God is always such and likewise for the Devil no matter what the name is). I believe that for everything good there is something bad, heaven and hell, yin and yang, ETC.

And as lost said, I just don't understand how someone could say you are going to hell because you're Homosexual or Bisexual or Catholic or Muslim (ETC.) I think even if your entire life you don't "practice" a religion once; if you live what you believe and you live a good life, you will end up where you're supposed to go (whether it's heaven or the afterlife or whatever you want to call it).I'd go into it more but funky is trying to get me off the computer so I'm going to go now.

ahh Now my fingers are cramped from all these ED's and funky is really about to kill me

Opinion:

All I know is that there is a higher power.
I don't care who it is, how many, how you worship it, or what it's name is.

All I need to know is that whoever/whatever it is protects me from myself and others.
Truthfully, that's all that keeps me alive.
