rekkaryuu I know of some people like that, Soren. razz But for some anime, you can't really blame them. Like... Cardcaptors, for example. Completely changed up, names and everything. Other things are changed, too, so you have to watch it subbed to get the original thing. And the voices, ooy... terrible, a lot of them... -___-''
Yeah, but it's still discrimination. Blame the stupid asses that dubbed it, NOT all the people that live in a particular country!!!
Like....4Kids. They can go to shove a cork up it, but you don't see me sayin' stuff like that....

Yup, I've heard about Cardcaptors being terrible dubbed. Like... didn't the group try to shift focus for the main character from Sakura to some other character or something? It really sucks. Then you have One Piece and the horrible mangling 4kids did to it. razz If I recall what I read correctly, they're desperately trying to make up for those things as the series goes on. xp
As long as it's not a serious edit, I don't care. Like I can understand Yu-Gi-Oh editing out guns and such, not that fingers are very intimidating. razz
Did you hear that in the German version of Naruto, they edited out Zabuza's sword?! It's true, apparently! O__O
Still... Eureka Seven has a pretty accurate dub, or so it seems to me.
EDIT: Kayako, the guy's not gonna come back, just don't worry about it. razz

Germans??! O__O The Germans edited something like that out?! O__O Seriously... all these people are trying to do it market the anime to kids so they can sell crappy merchandise. I mean... in the Yu-Gi-Oh manga Yugi KILLS people!! O__O And there's fanservice with Anzu/Tea. razz It's all to sell cheap garbage to kids.
Another fid-oriented dubbing was Sailor Moon. Sailors Neptune ane Uranus in the dub are cousins and in the original they're lesbian lovers. razz They even "adopted" Saturn as their kid, in a way. And Uranus flirts with Moon unrestrictingly! xp Oh... and so many nudey shots. razz The show was originally aimed at older teens, but the American dubbers edited the crap out of it and aimed it at young girls. They changed the names so the girls can associate with the characters more easily and will have the capacity to pronounce them. razz
Yes, they did an excellent job on Eureka Seven. It's nice to see something like that. ^___^

Man, I read about that Yu-Gi-Oh thing! That's so weird!! O__O Like originally, it wasn't even about card games. The card game idea just caught on. I forget everything else I read about it, but it was a lot of really bad and evil stuff you wouldn't expect from such a kid-friendly show like Yu-Gi-Oh. razz What female character in a show or manga isn't involved in fanservice at one point? xp
I remember hearing about that Sailor Moon stuff, too. I swear, one day I'm going to buy all these shows that were radically changed and watch both versions to compare them. razz Still, I gotta hand it to these dub groups having enough talent to completely butcher a show and remake it into something completely different. It's... relatively fascinating, terrible as it is. razz
It'll be my second and about a half, since I watched about 10 minutes on YouTube again. razz

Don't get your hopes up about Sailor Moon. The uncut version is good, but...
Neither is ANYTHING compared to the manga!! eek
The manga is brilliant. Blood, suggestive behavior....Someone actually saying "damn!" once in awhile...
And more importantly, even in the english version, Rei is Rei, Ami is Ami, and Usagi is "Bunny"...(which ain't that bad, because that's what her name means...), and Michiru and Haruka aren't COUSINS!!
Plus, there's lots of Hotaru/Chibiusa hinting... xd

Man... that lady is weird, the one what made the manga.
Did you know she's married to Toshihiro Togashi, the creator of the awesomely cool YuYu Hasuho, HunterxHunter, and some other ones I forgot? It's true. I think they have a son, too...
I tolja Uranus and Neptune ain't cousins!! They be lesbian lovers! xd Man... Uranus sooo looks like a guy, it's not funny! O__O

Oh, man, I heard about that movie!! xd That's really weird... I gotta wonder what made them think they could make a whole movie out of a town setting like that. Otherwise, I'm surprised I haven't seen any subs for it yet. Hasn't it been out for like... a couple months now or something?
Speaking of Animal Crossing... my town is probably very, very overriden with weeds by now. razz
