Sheik looked up at Miki. "Go, and don't let them come back. You can't afford to waste time! Tell them not to come back here!"
Miki backed up relucatantly. The normally quiet, isolated Sheik almost never got like this, and she knew she had to obey. "I'll see you again Sheik," she said, determined. She turned to run back, looking over her sohulder at the prone fox before heading after Tempest.

Azzlee giggles at the precocious Impa. "That is too true Rae, I just hope everything turns out ok. I hope Im not stepping out of line but may I suggest that we get closer together with the kits between us to keep them warm?"

Impa shook her head. "We don't need coddling, miss Azzlee. Us kits will manage!"
Rae liften an eyebrow in amusement, deciding not to tell Impa she had mispronounced coddling.
Echo nodded fervently and held her head up high. "What Sister said!"

"Your funeral!" He yelled, waiting for Miki to catch up. Once she did, he put her on his back and ran. "Don't...move....a...muscle." He said through gritted teeth, trying to get back to the caves as fast as he could.

Miki scowled, tired of this babying thing. She leaped off of her mate and ran on her own the rest of the way to the caves, making sure to block the exit once Tempest got in. If Sheik wanted to be left alone that badly, she'd make sure his wish was honored.

She laughed at the kits. "Yes I see you are all very strong kits, but would you mind if a old timer gets some warmth from you youngsters?" Azzlee winks at Rea.

Miki glared at her mate from her position at the cave mouth. "He did it to keep the two of us alive, Tempest. Do not think of slandering Sheik like that; he deserves your respect."
Seti stared suspiciously at the stranger. "Why? You don't seem cold."

"For the love of all that is holy Miki! I could carry him on my back and get here easily! I killed a Marlin for crying out loud!" Tempest yelled, then huffed. "Jeez, everyone lectures me nowadays."

"I'm not lecturing you. I'm standing behind a friend," Miki said calmly."You know perfect well that carrying Sheik's weight would be detrimental. He knew it too. We would not have made it back if you had tried to carry him. Admit it."
Sheik coughed and tried to bury his face in his fur. Suddenly, he felt inexplicably angry at himself. He could not give up like this! He opened his eyes and looked at the endless expanse of white. Determined, he began to drag himself towards where the forest was with his front legs.

Miki did not move. "I'm fine where I am."
Sheik screamed in pain as a rock jarred his ankle, but kept pulling himself along. He eventually reached the forest and thanked every higher being he could think of as he saw two large boulders that had fallen together, eaving a small gap that was protected form the onslaught of snow. He threw hismelf itno it and curled up to wait out the storm.

Miki shrugged and nuzzled his cheek. "Whatever floats your boat."
While she wcting strong and cheerful, Miki was worried. She would sneak glances to the snow outside the cave every once in awhile.
