From up the river, a shadow appeared. As it drew nearer, Elnara's features grew clearer. She was back, ready to pick up the kids and take them home. Her bag was slung over her shoulder, and it was impossible to tell from the size exactly how much she had in it. She heard Serenity's voice calling Celebor, and she put one hand to her eyes to shade them from the sun and looked around. She spotted him walking through the tall grass, but she couldn't tell whether or not he had a particular direction in mind.
She smiled and moved to follow him silently.

Serenity was growing impatient. The bird was starting to get on her nerves a little bit, and nothing she did could quiet it. Skye was sleeping now, so she couldn't very well get her to take care of the bird - besides, how would she know what to do with it if Serenity didn't?
She hollered again. "CELEBOR WHERE ARE YOU?!"

"I'M COMING!" Celebor hollered back, annoyance darkening his features. "YOU'RE S'POSED TO BE HIDING NOT TELLING ME WHERE YOU ARE!"
He picked up his pace.

Elnara stifled a giggle and slipped up behind Celebor, then grabbed his shoulders and said, "Got you!" She laughed.

Celebor screamed and jumped, and whirled around to see who had scared him. When he saw that it was Elnara, he started laughing.
"Mommy! You scareded me!" he scolded her, hugging her around the waist as tightly as he could and burying his face in her stomach.

Elnara laughed and hugged him back. "I know I did," she quipped back with a grin. She put one arm over his shoulder and smiled down at him. "So Serenity and Skye are hiding, are they? Shall we go find them together then?"
She ruffled his hair affectionately.

Celebor nodded and stuck his hand in hers and held on tightly. "They're somewhere over there, I think," he said, pointing in the direction of the huge old oak. "Cos that's where it sounds like S'ren'ty's yelling at me from."

From over by the tree, Serenity was getting excited.
"Is that Mommy that I hear?" she hollered eagerly. She jumped up and down, trying to see over the top of the long grass. "Mommy Mommy over here! Come get us!" she cried. "Come on come on come on!"

Elnara grinned at Celebor and knelt beside him.
"Get on my back," she instructed, and turned into a small roc - that is, big enough to carry him, but a lot smaller than a full-sized one.

Celebor grinned. "I get to fly!" he cheered, and scrambled up onto the back of the large bird. He grabbed a fistful of feathers in each hand and smiled mischievously. "Let's go!"

Elnara took flight, and within a matter of seconds had spotted Skye and Serenity beneath the old oak tree, and swooped down to land just beside them. Skye was still sleeping deeply, and didn't move as Elnara and Celebor landed, nor when Celebor slipped off Elnara's back.
Elnara waited until he was clear before reverting to her own form.

Serenity's eyes grew wide and she stared at Elnara, and her jaw dropped in shock. She blinked a few times and cocked her head once - twice - three times ... she closed her mouth and blinked again.
"... Mommy?" she asked timidly. "That you?"

Elnara laughed and reached out to take her daughter in for a tight hug.
"Of course it's me," she giggled. She ruffled Serenity's hair affectionately, then hugged her again. "I forgot ... you've never seen me change before." She laughed again, trying to shrug off a feeling of unease.

Celebor pounced on Serenity and swung her around. "'Course it's Mommy!" he giggled. "She c'be anything! Isn't that neat-o? I likes it best when Mommy's a kitty, maybe Mommy'll be a kitty for you too!"
He put her down again and kept right on giggling.

Serenity giggled and stumbled a bit, dizzy from being swung around so quickly. "A kitty?" she repeated eagerly. "Wow!" She lost her balance and fell backwards onto the ground. "Mommy, is that true? Can you really? Can you show me?"
