Ah I can remember it like it was yesterday... December 1, 2006 actually *que stary eyes*
I was channel surfing in my parents room, when I came across the season 2 finale of avatar. A few days earlier I had heard a few friends of mine talk about Avatar and how great the season finale would be. Naturally, being the anime enthusiast that I was, I had believed this 'avatar' was nothing but a American show trying to pose as an anime and thought nothing of it (back then I was really into anime like NGE (ShinjiXAsuka 4 eva!) and Cowboy Bebop (SpikeXJulia lives on!) so I basically thought all American cartoons sucked). But when I did land on CoD that night, I recalled what my friends had said and figured I'd watch Avatar to see why it was so popular. Let me tell you, I am so happy I did xd ! After seeing Katara gently put her hand on Zuko's scar I was a Zutarian before I knew it! I had the worst timing though, cause after wards I came shouting to my friends saying how great Avatar was and how Zuko and Katara would be so great together... that didn't get such a great response as I hoped... I didn't know it back then but a good 9/10 of my friends were kataangers sweatdrop ... and let me tell ya, the verbal beating they gave me has scared me for as long as I live crying . But I still stick to Zutara and always will! whee 4laugh blaugh

Aww, 9/10? I am so sorry! *huggles*

You came into Avatar about the same way I did. I mean, my best friend said I shouldn't bother watching it, but then I got into a fandom that also had a lot of Avatar Fans...So I started to wonder what the fuss was about. And I noticed it was on during the day during the summer, so I just put it on while I was at the computer, and I actually got attatched to it! As for Zutara, it just...followed. I'd also seen a few Zutara fan arts before I watched, so I was curious about that too....But after a few episodes it just clicked.

I also got my best friend to watch it, and she became addicted to it as well! And promptly after, she signed up for the Zutara camp. It was awesome. ^^

The Blue Spirit was one of my first episodes of Avatar, and I knew from then on that Zuko WOULD be joining the Avatar at some point. And the Storm, too. TBS and TS kind of just won Zuko first place in my favorite character's list. So I had to see how things with him went. Zutara just...followed. I don't even know how, it was just instinctual, or something. lol.

i didn't have anyone tell me not to watch it, but i thought atla would be a lame american psuedo anime too. then i caught the season 1 endings. the next day after i saw it, nicktoons did a marathon and i was hooked. that was last march (2007).

i don't really know when i started getting into zutara. i just kinda thought they were destined for one another. i wasn't even aware of all the crazy shippers and bashers until i joined gaia.

my inclinations about zuko joining the gaang occured when i watched "the chase" and they all bended their respective elements at the same time towards azula.

haha, when i watched CoD (which i watched WAY outta order) i misheard sokka say he was with suki to ty lee. i thought he meant toph, especially with the previous scene having toph hold his arm while flying on appa. so for a VERY long time i thought sokka and toph were dating. haha. and i got confused when i couldn't find the episode that explained it. finally i figured out that i was wrong, when i had watch all episodes to date (in order).

Me too, it was just a cartoon my younger brother was crazy over, it used to be. Now i park myself in front of the PC to download episodes. xp all them crazy shippers were found on Fanfiction.net, and there have been some of the most outrageous ships i've read about. Like: Zuko x Azula, Zuko X Ty Lee and many others. It's crazier on Fanfiction than here. blaugh

I fell in love with Zutara when I realized that they were the only ones strong enough for the other...I think it was when they were at the spirit oasis and Iroh was talking about yin and yang.

I never knew about zutara. When Avatar had first started, I could tell that Aand would like Katara, but it made sick cuz I though they were too much like my nephew and me. Then this Prince Zuko guy appears and I though " Now theres an idea."
My cable was cut off before I could see more. Then later just as the second season was on "Bitter Work" we got it back. I tried to look up vids on the computer to caught up. Thats when I came across this vid. It was about Katara chosing singing about Aang and Zuko to the song "Earth wind water and fire-by toybox" I remember commenting on the vid saying,"I think Katara be better off with Zuko." Then some guy replied, "Me too, woot Zutara!" and I looked up the words and BAM! It was like a sign from God! Been a Zutarain ever since. xd

Really? Cool. =D Now that I think of it, that's probably a reason I like it, too. Aang wouldn't be able to keep up with Katara's temper or personality, and Mai couldn't with Zuko, either.

That's honestly a good question! sweatdrop I'm not sure if it was accidental or what have you. Around the middle of 2007, I watched a Deviant, named CallistoHime, and I only watched her because she has an on-going Legend of Zelda story that I've grown to love. And occassionally, she'd mention this thing [or at least that's what I'd call it back then] called "Avatar" and I'd ask myself; "Why is she talking about an icon?"

And she submitted a Deviation, and it was of Katara holding Aang after he got struck down by Azula. [I had no idea who they were and ironically, the episode that piqued my curiousity was Crossroads of Destiny. xd ] The weeks passed by, and I forgot about the drawing, and I noticed that Nick was having an Avatar marathon, I ignored it, but I couldn't stop thinking about it for the life of me!

I run to the living room, sit down and turn on the TV and begin watching. The episode was The Waterbending scroll [funny, no?] and I see Katara fling the water at that pirate, and she runs into Zuko's grip and he says the line of: I'll save you from the pirates.

I knew he was the bad guy, I mean with an appearance like that, how the hell could I not? blaugh Then came Book Fire, and I loved the episode The Headband, and loved the dance between Aang and Katara. Then came the effin hiatus and I waited. They repeated it from the beginning, and I watched it all the way through, and I did it again for the second time. After a while, Kataang started to feel stale and boring. And I couldn't relate to the ship anymore.

The Callisto comes up with another journal, and mentions in one vague sentence the word; Zutara, I blink and say "What is Zutara? Sounds like some foreign ice cream. xd " I typed it in at DeviantArt and saw that over 10K entries popped up, which made my eyes grow huge. I thought it was bologny that people could ship, of all people Zuko and Katara. But then, all the stuff can running in my head day and night. And I sat there thinking, well, there was that one battle they had in The Seige of The North, and Zuko did say "You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun." *thinks to herself* Kataang is becoming a little bit boring. So, I guess, I'm a Zutara shipper? I think on it, maybe I'll stay, maybe I won't.

And after watching the series through and through, dozens of times, and loving Crossroads of Destiny. I became the Zutarian I am today. Long winded, but my journey couldn't be shortened down. sweatdrop

Wow, that was awesome. And I find it kinda humorous, no offense.

Sounds like some foreign ice cream... lol!

But anwyay, I think thst you're journey to Zutaraness was a good one. I hope you stay in this ship! I don't really want any of our Zutarians crossing the ocean over to the Kataang ship (lifeboat). lol.

I'll never go back to Kataang! X_X And my journey was honestly a funny/good one. Zutara is the more 'impacting' shipping of the two, I guess I could say. And trust me, I'll never go back down the way I came, so I'm here to stay! biggrin [Is rhyming]

i saw a preview for the show at comic con and decided to watch it. the first episode was awesome. the first character that i fell in love with was katara. she had to be the most feminist character that i have ever seen. then when i saw zuko i was all like "omg, that dude is like bald...but still hawt!" and then when he went to the village, and grabbed gran gran. i thought to myself "dude, he is totally going to bang that chick that bends water. that would be soo cool." and thus, i became a zutarain without ever really being in contact with any other avatards. seriously, it has only been recent that i have found out how popular this show is. oh, also, it seems that i am the only zutara in the imperial valley that i know of. so yeah, all out on my lonesome here in the desert.

Unless if Mike and Bryan make the next series of Avatar directed for teenagers, wishful thinking, but eh, you never know, especially with those two. xp
