Kyoko giggled. "Yeah...But then they'd have to socialize with the likes of us. Gods forbid." When he twirled her, she went as close to en pointe as she could in normal shoes, then back to normal. She was glad to have found someone to go to the Masquerade with. Especially someone who didn't mind her clingy nature and out-of-the ordinary features. She hadn't been on a 'date' since the end of her first year of high school...and that had ended badly. Besides...despite Kyuubi's flirtatious nature, he was a good guy, not to mention very good looking.

"Oh heaven forbid. We just aren't good enough for them," Kyuubi chuckled, twirling Kyoko back in towards his body and skillfully wrapping an arm about her waist. Now that he was dancing, and with a beautiful woman none-the-less, he was more at ease. The fight flew from his mind, forgotten easily as long as he was holding the woman in his arms.

Kyoko just nodded and rest her check on his shoulder. At that moment, others didn't matter, a rare occurrence for the hyper girl...the only one that mattered was the person she was dancing with. It was nice...feeling completely safe and sound. Even though she was so hyper and trusting and clinging, there was always an underlying fear...an urge to watch her back and the shadows carefully.

Everything happened too fast for Abigale to keep up, and the woman was left splattered from punch and it stained her bandaging wrapping of the mummy. She stood there in shock, staring rather blankly at the surroundings with the soggy ticket in hand.

Glasses crooked on the bridge of her nose only slipping comically further down her nose, and she snapped back to her senses quickly enough when she was forced to readjust them. Spotting May, Abigale made her way cautiously over towards her. Being very carefull of her loose wrapping that'd made her trip earlier. "Ex-excuse me?" She murmured. "I saw you earlier... do you know where the ticket-taker is?"

May looked at the mummy with something akin to distaste. She didn’t like the fact that a mummy was talking to her, masquerade or not. It was just…creepy. But the glasses falling down the woman’s nose almost made things better.

May forced a smile on her lips and looked at the mummy wrapped woman. “The ticket taker? Why, she was at the door. How you possibly got in without showing it to her is beyond me.” May spoke her confusion out loud, her manicured finger tapping her chin thoughtfully.

“Oh well.” She murmured and took a few graceful steps to end up by the girl’s side. “Come now, I’ll show you what to do with that. Before it ends up in another punch bowl.”

Alch had gotten lost in the hustle and bustle (a bathroom break, really, that had lead to her getting distracted with ensuring she looked well and good). Now she had returned to the party and was struggling to catch up with what had occurred during her busy time. "Oh, I should never have left..." she mumbled, pursing her lips and pouting for a moment as she searched out for a familiar face - there would only be one familiar mask, and Autumn was no where in sight.

"Could someone tell me what's happened...?" she asked carefully, to anyone who would be willing to listen, looking rather lost.

((... seriously regretting having classes today. xD;; *missedsomuch*))

"I-I..." She made an effort to protest, though fell silent as she was asked to follow her escort. Holding tightly to her ticket nervously, she followed with a bowed head. "Who-who might you be?" She made an effort to be friendly after a few moments of silence, though her face was about as red as the punch that stained her bandages.

Skie stood off to the side, more of a wallflower then anything else as she watched the proceedings. She’d essentially been carried by the crowd through the door and hadn’t yet had an opportunity to converse with anyone. They all looked so busy that she had wandered over to the buffet and taken a small plate of goodies and a glass of wine, which she was sipping now as she watched people spin about the dance floor.

It was all so gorgeous she really couldn’t help but stare at all the sparkling gems and flowing fabric. Adjusting her mask, she wondered if she fit in at all. Her dress was rather simple – the way she preferred things – and she was beginning to doubt her choice of attire. A suit had been entirely out of the question, this was a ball, something formal that required a dress; a fact that been made painfully clear when she’d brought up the idea of a feminine suit to her friends. They’d promptly kidnapped her and stuffed her into the best dress boutique they’d been able to find.

Needless to say, Skie was uncomfortable. She kept smoothing her dress and hoping something would catch her eye or some event would start up that she could then occupy herself with. Being alone at a ball was never very much fun.

“May.” She offered. “May Taurt.” She didn’t bother to look back at the mummy as she walked at a steady pace towards the door. “And yourself?” She asked, turning her head to the side, but not exactly catching the girl in sight.

“Ah, here we are.” She tapped the guards shoulder and as the woman turned around to stare at may, she bowed slightly out of the way to show the mummy girl to her. “There ya go dear.”

Irene shivered when the other's finger made its voluntary touch on his skin. He was never really comfortable with anyone touching him, but experience had forced him to stay calm even if he was close to being molested (of course, that was not the case with Crystal). No matter what he did, displeasing the ladies was forbidden, at least according to his mother's ordeals. However in this case, he didn't need to worry about that. Instead, he wondered if Crystal was truely willing in doing what she was doing right now. Oh, how he loved to tease this innocent young woman in front of him! But at the same time, he had to be careful not to cross his bondaries.

"My lady, if anything makes you feel uncomfortable, please say so. I am very well capable of taking care of myself. Or perhaps taking off this---" tugging at his only layer of cloth "---would make it more convinent?"

A breeze blew across his face, and the bushes that surrounded them russtled along. The night seemed so quiet outside of the mansion, but Irene was well aware that if anyone were to come outside at this moment, the two would certainly be caught. Pleasing the rich and elite ladies was one thing, but Crystal...

"My lady, perhaps I should do this myself."

"I-I'm Abby-- Abigale Strider." She murmured through the bandages, and looked to the ticket taker at the front of the building. She offered her ticket to the person, and bowed her head politely before turning back to May.

The woman was clearly a noble, but what could she possibley say to her? She didn't know anything of the upper crust... she was just an ordinary person. "It's nice to meet you!" She said almost over enthusiasticly in her timid nervousness, though wasn't overly loud in saying so.

May smiled warmly at the girl. “Its nice to meet you too.” She spoke then gestured to the stains on the girls garbs “You should be more careful. I don’t think the nobles like being bothered” She spoke with a giggle.

“But don’t worry,” She assured. “There are plenty of normal folk like us hanging around here for you to still have some fun huh?” The girl seemed up tight. And nervous. She wasn’t going to enjoy herself much if she stayed like that. “Who knows?” May joked with a wink “You may even get asked to dance.”

"D-d-dance?!" Abigale's face was bright red at the thought, shaking her head. "I-I don't think so, there are far prettier women to look at, and-and I don't want people to trip on my wrapping!"

The idea of one of the fair noble men in their elegant costumes asking a country bumpkin like her to dance was inconceivable for Abigale, and vigorously shook her head before turning back to May. She was embaressed for rambling, and bowed her head timidly. "I'm afraid I don't know how I came by the ticket; I'm not suited to places like this. It was mailed to me... With no return address or signature."

Sena Tsubokura glided through the crowd effortlessly. The daughter of the powerful diplomat thrived on the perils of social navigation, and reveled in watching others vie for the spotlight. A mysterious evelope containing a gilded ticket arrived in her postbox, and the young debutante certainly wouldn't pass an opportunity to attend a gala, moreso if it were a masquerade. After a closet quick raid, Sena arrived fashionably late as always, determined to make a grande if not memorable entrance.

"Do forgive me for my late arrival," Sena apologized, with a voice soft as silk as she handed her ticket to the receptionist. "I simply couldn't find anything to wear."

Her golden tresses were gilded with a headress that looked like pirate treasure spilled a top them. Her gorgeous plumed mask noboubtedly was hand crafted by a skilled artisan, and her sleek gown purely a designer custom creation. Large roses in a brilliant white crowned her look, and she shielded her killer smile with an Egyptian fan.

Without a date in sight, she simply enjoyed chatting indifferently with the guests, keeping her eyes peeled for something interesting to catch her attention. Spending most of her time on the dance floor, Sena had little chance for a break. No sooner had she managed to slip away from one dance partner, another one was cornering her and convincing her to get back out there. Luckily, when her past partner's date arrived looking rather flustered, she made a clean getaway to the drink table.

Sati finished her story and shooed the children off, smiling softly as they ran back to their parents. She'd never admit it, but damn, she really did like kids. They were messy and they couldn't buy much from her, but they soaked up the information she gave so readily! Sati had a strange desire to sit the children down and force them to learn their sums. If not a trader, perhaps she would have been a mathematics teacher.

But that wasn't who she was: she was a merchant, rich and opulent were her wares, and she was here to showcase them, the silks and gems and gold she wore. It was time for the Tamilzhan trader to stop telling stories to children and start forming bonds with potential paying customers (and hopefully avoid dancing in the process.) She wore no mask so that others could easily see and recognize her face, image being the most important selling point of Sati's import company. And what an image she projected, her plain features turned resplendent in an exotic patterned silk sari and shining gems, gold jewelry strung in her long, thick black hair.

She sized up the crowd. The masks made it so hard to tell people's true character, and everyone's fancy dress hid those with real money from those who dressed only for the occassion. Sati sighed and smoothed a hand over her hair. Might as well pick at random then. No, that one looked like he wanted to dance, and that one just looked like she'd pick a fight.

Finally Sati rounded on a girl off to the side. She looked uncomfortable and alone, like she'd really rather be off somewhere else or curled up in a ball in the corner. Sati could empathize; were she not representing her company, that's where she'd be, too. Even if she couldn't open an account with this woman, maybe she could cheer her up.

The merchant dug through her silk purse and drew out a perfect, medium-sized garnet, one of her many samples to give away. She offered the stone to the woman on an open palm. "Here," she said, smiling slightly. "You look as if you could use some cheer. A pleasant party, of course, but everything is better shared with another. Might I accompany you?"
