Vince yawned and stared Alicia for a moment. "Do you ever stop moving? Well, whatever. At least we agree on something..... Waiting is BORING!" Vince turned his head towards the sky and laughed as he put his crystal back in his bag. Eventually the leughter left, and he turned to face the group. His eyes fell back on Alicia. "Wait.... Isn't this the third time today I've seen you? You said your name was Alicia right? I'll have to remember that, in case you ever do something...... Kidding, of course." He turned to face the entire group again. "Alright, should we send out someone to go get these other people before I die of boredom?"

((had to post something XD))

Lendelea raised a slender eyebrow at the girl when she used elfish words in a human way, but she said nothing. “Waiting requires patience, just relax, they’ll be here in their own time,” Lendelea said not in a big hurry. Thought when the other started complaining she sighed slightly. “If you can please point them out then Vince, I would go get them to save your boredom,” Lendelea paused, her voice was droll and sarcastic at the same time, “Because of course, boredom is SUCH a troublesome thing in this world compared to everything else,” this she said softly under her breath, just loud enough to carry to anyone willing to listen, but soft enough not to reach anyone with only half a mind on what she was saying.

((To bad... now my charrie must punish you with her ways of thinking patience is a virtue. xDDD ))

Vince gave Lendelea a cold stare, although secretly inside he was laughing. "Point them out? Very well...." Vince slowly raised one hand and extended his finger..... Only to point right at the temple. "They're in there. So you're going to go get them now right?" A big grin spread across Vince's face. "Or can you just will them to come outside? I'd bet that's a nifty little skill to have, huh? Wait, you can't? Oh, that's too bad, isn't it?" Vince stuck his tongue out in a childish manner, mostly to be annoying than anything. He loved nailing people for technicalities.

((That's ok, I can punish right back XD))

"Both of you. All of you. Quiet."

Maerye walked up the steps of the temple, huffing lightly. "We will be waiting. And truly, you know you will end up waiting with me. Because there's something in your heart that knows I have something to offer you that you cannot let go of."

She smiled to herself, sitting on the top step.

"They will come to us instead. They will all come."

"Yes ma'am!" Alicia saluted the Acolyte and went to sit next to her on the step. The redhead wondered how her brothers were doing with the work. She really should be there with them... She crossed her legs, took another bite of her apple, then leaned back on her elbows, foot automatically bobbing up and down to some silent tune.

The Acolyte was right though. Alicia felt something that compelled her to stay right where she was. It wasn't anything specific, meaning that if anyone asked she'd never be able to tell them, other than to say it was instinct. Oh well. Maybe I'll never figure it out. In the meantime, I could always be polite.

"Do you want an apple, Acolyte?" she asked, fishing yet another one out of her hip pack.

"I'm not hungry for stolen goods," Maerye said softly. "Don't worry, though. Those skills honed through years of theiving have other uses as well and there will be a time when you can come upon an honest fortune. Just heed the warnings I have given you."

She placed her hands folded in her lap. "Tell me, truthfully. Did you think I was a boy when you first saw me?" She had no real understanding of what she looked like, and often felt extremely amused by the idea that people couldn't tell gender from smaller things than voice and looks.

Alicia shrugged and put the apple back in her pack. More for me. She decided to wait to ponder what the Acolyte had said about her thieving, and instead turned to look at the other girl.

"Truthfully, huh? Well, if you know so much, you should know never to trust the word of a thief!" She nudged Maerye's arm with her elbow, teasing. "But really... Hm... At first glance, I couldn't really tell. I mean, your hair isn't long, and the robes definitely don't accentuate what curves you might have, so you could easily be taken for a boy. But then you spoke, and your voice isn't in the least bit masculine, so I knew you were a girl in unfortunate bodily circumstances." She nodded matter-of-factly and took another bite of her apple.

"Except that I can tell if you lie," Maerye said, laughing to herself. "When listening to voices for so long and having come upon so many visions, you can certainly tell when another is lying, especially a theif." She ignored the elbowing, never having been prone to the childish antics most people had grown up with.

"I wish I had curves..." she said absentmindedly. "No, my voice isn't masculine, especially after I've had a vision. Sometimes I wish, though, that I could simply live the life I had been going after. And then a vision comes to me of such magnitude, I know that if I did so... it would be the end. Of more than just me. That is the future you will be working to deflect. I only hope it is not too late. Yet, even though it may be, this is a time for waiting, not action."

"Again with the waiting!" Alicia complained. "Did no one hear me when I said cael i're ten'ere' lle? I think not!" Then her brain processed what else the Acolyte had said. She could spot a lie... Gotta remember that! But that was about all that got through.

"Sorry Acolyte," she began sheepishly. "But could you run that by me again? What future am I working to deflect? Too late for what?" Oh no. She was getting into dealing with the future. She really should listen to Mama more about these things!
PostPosted: Mon Apr 23, 2007 9:25 pm

"I probably oughtn't tell you of the future you could be avoiding, but rather point out that you'd rather have a place in this world, yes?" She rolled her eyes up, looking just to the side of Alicia. "Don't worry, though. It is often better to have one who understands the paths of time and choice who does not reveal all to you. Most cannot understand prophecy; that is why they were not given the Sight."

She sighed softly. "So, perhaps, you should just remember that your heart tells you I am true."

Still greatly nonplussed, the thief let the matter drop. Her thoughts turned to her Mama. Boy, am I going to be in trouble when I get home! I was only supposed to be out for twenty minutes or so! This is not what I had planned... Tired of sitting and doing nothing but talk, she got up and hummed a cheery tune before she began to dance to it. She held her arms up as if being guided by an invisible partner.

((Yes, I realize some of us can't watch videos. The song is Spanish Lady by Celtic Women.))

Lendelea gave the boy one frosty glance before chuckling slightly in amusment. She didn't pursue the argument, mostly because Maerye had told them to shut up. Lendelea lightly acended the steps to listen carefully of the conversatino going on between the two, and since it seemed that Maerye could tell what was happening around her, then she could easily tell her not to ease-drop. Also... part of the information about the future Lendelea guessed, was for everyone.

Vince yawned, realizing that saying anything else would be useless. Instead, he walked over to a nearby tree and sat underneath it, leaning against the rough bark. He pulled a small block of wood and a small knife from his satchel, and quickly begain to carve the wood, his thumb pushing slightly on the dull side of the blade. The wood peeled of easily, proving the blade to be shaper than it appeared. "So, as long as we're here, you all should probably go ahead and tell me about yourselves. No use remaining strangers if we really are gonna be spending so much time together, right?" Already, Vince had already carved what appeared to be a small wing on the block of wood.

Alicia stopped humming but continued to dance when she replied. "Well, I'm Alicia Prewitt, in case you didn't already know. I have five brothers, and Mama. Never knew my Da, but it's been alright, having Mark look after me when Mama couldn't." She twirled herself around on her toes. "Mark taught me nearly all I know. I picked up some Elvish from merchants, so that's how I know the language." She paused in her steps and speech before beginning both again. "Mark's the oldest. Then comes Lionel, then Antony, then me. My younger brothers are Tamono and Jessed. Jess is the youngest-- he's only five. I'm sixteen, by the way."

Lendelea nodded her head in thought, "That explains why you know that phrase..." Lendelea said quietly, but not offensively.
"Your from whilst dancing is a gift young thief," Lendelea said with a grin, before gazing at the sky. "Well, about me, I am an Elf as you all can see. Half-elf really. My mother taught me elfish and my father..." Her voice trailed off to turn into something distant and far away, "He taught me to hunt and to survive. I have no siblings, my father is now dead, my mother is ill supposedly being taken care of in a distant village." Lendelea shrugged her then shoulders in a careless jester.

((AH!! >__> I SO wish to use an elfish phrase at the end! But... I cannot find one that is sutable! -sob- ))
