the terrain was forest like which provided cover but also would give any natives an advantage against them.. Carmen walked slightly ahead of him, Lance was to his left and Helljumper was on his six...
(helljumper i need somethin to call you thats short, help me out eh?)
the forest was soo quiet, dan whispered but could be clearly heard,
"has anyone heard any signs of life yet.."
no answer.."nah i thought not...ok keep this spread formation and RV at the edge of the Forest ok.. keep it tight people"

"Well.. as we fell, I started to hear voices, the voices of people I know couldn't have been speaking. I think some of the others experienced this as well.. It was strange, and cold. I'm not a believer in the supernatural, and this being my first trip off-base, I think I'm prepared for just about anything."
She sat down next to Flash, a little embarrassed at having to explain the phenomena, she was sure everyone else present had witnessed.

She looks doubtfully skyward, hoping for the answers to Flash's questions. Having found no comfort in the darkness above, she returns her gaze to the Airman in beside her.
"I don't know. Maybe to remind people of things they've tried to forget?" She grabbed at moving theories, to find something rational to explain the incident she was trying so hard to forget.
"Or.. perhaps it was a technology that, over time, has backfired. Maybe it could be a spiritual area, or a religious ceremonial ground.. We really know nothing about this place" Her eyes becoming distant, and her voice trailing to a stop.

Terrain update- Circa (Early Years)
The gate opens on to a field with a sundial in the middle, there is mostly forest around an a small vilage to the north. It is a breathable atmosphere and easliy 75 degees. (in american terms).

Eyes look around calmly, when casey goes to look around and says keep radio silence, Eyes raises and eyebrow and sets off toward the village that can be seen toward the north.

the four trek to the edge of the forest which is then opened up into complete desert terrain...

he clicks his radio...

She started to make her way toward the direction she had seen her Captin move in.
