Hymn of the Silent

Musei ran his hand across the wall's surface, admiring the fact it could remain cool in such a hot environment. "Pity." He noted, looking up at the tall trees surrounding the stoney enclosure.

"This is probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I'd give anything just to walk around here and explore for a while. Who knows what I'd find." He was lost mostly in his own world for the moment, trying incredibly hard to find the similarities between a tundran forest and a jungle.

"In this case I'd be more worried what would find you.." Niima wasn't a fool to the war's shadow. In fact it was due to Master Taikai, a waterbender, that the northern air temple found out and was preparing for the safety of the inhabitants.

Her eyes lowered to Musei as she watched him kind of zone out into his own lil world. There was an uneasiness stepping into the fire nation and unfortunately Tsuzuki's words hadn't helped any. She would do well to be kind to the hostess, however. Mismatched eyes raising to admire the surrounding area before landing on Tsuzuki. "Please, Miss Okami. If we are taking up your time.." She left the sentence unfinished, knowing the young woman was able to determined that Niima was simply not wishing to keep the woman from her work.

Tsuzuki laughed, "Trust me, Niima, you're not keeping me from anything. I was supposed to have a meeting today on future affairs in my life but, unfortunately, the attending people got caught up in a storm up north and won't be down for a few more days."

She lead them to the front of the manor, the golden gates twisted into the form of a wolf in front of them. Almost instantly, they swung open to reveil the impressive gardens that lead up to the mansion. Gravel crunched beneith her feet as she lead her guests to the front door and opened it without effort. The large hallway greeted her as it always had: with portraits of family members long passed and a hanging gold chandelleir. "The parlor's down this way," Tsuzuki spoke at length, having the scentence hang in the air before dropping it entirely.

A room with many plush, dark red cussions, a large carpet, and many windows greeted them. Bookshelves were housed within the spaces between the windows where there sat titles from 'The Black Swan At Omashu' to 'A History of Fire' to 'Lee the Brave and Other Children's Stories' lay stacked. "Ah, tea," Tsuzuki smiled, noting the steaming pot already set out on the table, "And I trust that I have something else in the kitchen for Musei. If you'll excuse me."

She walked into the kitchen and opened one of the cooled bins that held drinks. Inside one was a cool pineapple juice that she had loved when she was a kid. She poured it into a pitcher and brought with it three glasses just in case she and Niima wanted any. As she pushed her back against the door to open it, she noticed something sparkle on the counter. A necklace lay there. But not just any necklace: a betrothal necklace. A shadow momentarily came over Tsuzuki's face as she remembered when she had last seen the wretched thing. "Pineapple Juice okay?" She greeted her guests cheerily once more, hiding her thoughts about the necklace.

Musei nodded, turning from his place next to the bookcase. "Yeah." He turned back around, looking at the large array of books. It made him feel small again; the fact that he could barely read and yet there were so many books and so many words.

Another thing was...'pineapples'. He had no idea what pineapples were. He knew what 'apples' were, and the association to pine trees made him think for a second. Was it some apple that tasted like pine? Maybe sweeter?

After that dark moment of thought, he sat down next to the counter and nodded once more. "Very...uh...nice place." He noted, keeping his line of sight directly at the floor. "Thank you for the drink."

Niima gave a nod to Tsuzuki upon hearing the words. It's strange but when Niima saw the way the gate had been formed, she twitched. An uneasy twitch. She followed still in ever silence, marveling at the garden. Ah she missed such sights. Her head craned as she continued to drink in her surroundings. Tsuzuki sure did live in luxury...

As Musei left her side she would keep a eye on him. While Tsuzuki was busy getting the Musei's drink she would set about pouring two cups of tea for herself and her hostess. After all, Niima isn't use to being 'idle'.

Standing she looked over to Muse and made a small motion with her palm. She would not have him sitting in a corner all brooding. "I must agree with him. It's very ..lavished."

Musei raised an eyebrow as Niima herded him like a farm animal. "Alright...I'm going!" He exasperated, sitting closer to the table where the drinks were gathered. "Don't see where the problem is..." He leaned back on his seat with his hands behind his head. He was really starting to like this place, however depressive it made him feel.

"So...what does Kibou Irie mean?" He asked the hostess, curious as ever.

Her eyes lowered at Musei and a small sigh escaped her lips. Like she gave up. She wasn't herding him like apparently he thought. "For one Musei, it's impolite to sit before the host of another home offers you a seat. And secondly..sitting in a corner is kind of rude." She mumbled to him as she looked away. She dropped the subject quickly, her hands clasped before her. It was almost like..she didn't want to upset Musei more then she apparently already had. But for Niima, at this point and with all that happened, it was a frightening thing to upset and prehaps lose all that she had left. Namely Musei.

((Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. My AP Bio homework needs to get done and it's taking awhile.))

Tsuzuki smiled, "It's fine. I'm sure whatever he does, I've done it twice as worse, ten times more. And Kibou Irie means Wish Cove. I don't know who named it. . . It sounds kinda corney now that I think about it but it does have its suddle charms. Oh, don't blame me for the lavished part of it. My great-great-great-great-great grandparents thought that it might be nice since this is how they decorated during the war."

She took a sip of her tea and felt the warmth fill her to the brim. It was nice to feel warm again (even if she was in the Fire Nation which was generally hotter than hell and humid too). "So what temple do you two hail from?"

Musei stared at the strangely neon-yellow drink in front of him, 'pineapple juice' is what Tsuzuki had called it. "Wish Cove...sounds kind of peaceful." He grabbed the glass and sniffed it, finally taking a tentative sip. The tartness of the drink made his mouth pucker and jolt backwards. Strangely enough, however, it tasted rather good.

He took another sip, finding it not as shocking as the first. Finally he came to a rather good liking of the drink as he took a mouthful of it and swallowed it in small gulps.

He was trying to push his brain from thinking about reading and his own lacking ability thereof. "I...uh, don't hail from any temple. I was kind of a wanderer for a while before I met up with Niima." Musei nodded, looking over at Tsuzuki. "I probably wouldn't have been able to have any skills whatsoever if I wouldn't have met her."

Tsuzuki grinned at Musei's love of pineapple juice. "Don't go too heavy on that stuff. I drank three pitures when I was little and had a stomach ache all the next day. It did get me out of lessons though. . ." She mused to herself, "But, if you want some more, I'd be glad to humor you."

"That's awesome!" Tsuzuki exclaimed happily about Musei's being a wanderer, "I did that for five years and really liked the life. What sort of skills did she teach you? Airbending stuff? I wish that I could Airbend sometimes. It looks like so much fun!"

She stopped; she was rambling. She usually rambled all of the time in front of people she liked but her mood had stopped her from doing that lately.

She didn't feel like fighting the both of them. Truth be told she was trying to teach Musei manners too. Remaining standing her hands clasped before her, she listens quietly. Mind elsewhere. Her mind snapped to when she heard Tsuzuki ask of their origins.

"I am lived my last few years at the Northern Air Temple. Before that I lived in a little village that was...destroyed while I was about Musei's age. Spent many years wandering myself."

As Tsuzuki began to ask shot questions to Musei she fell silent again, not wishing to butt into the conversation. Though she felt some swell of pride at the way Musei seemed to of enjoyed her teaching. That really lifted her saddened heart.

Musei took another gulp of the drink, relishing the tingling sensation running down his spine and the tart taste in his throat. He officially loved pineapples. "Humor me? Are you saying if I want more pineapple juice you're going to entertain me?" Musei raised an eyebrow to that, and then mumbled, "Doesn't make much sense..."

"Anyhow." He interjected, wiping his mouth of the remaining liquid. "Basically she taught me how to conjure wind easier and fire it however strong or soft I want it. The basics...basically. And...firebending looks kinda cool too. I saw Fulgar do it a little bit before..." He paused, subconciously reaching up and rubbing his neck. "...before I met him. Wandering is fine, but I...well...had to do it when I was five. I miss the woods, kinda. Especially the bears. They were nice."

Tsuzuki laughed and shook her head. She explained, "It means that, if you want more juice, I'll give it to you despite my better judgement."

"Fulgar?!" she asked in shock, not quite reaching the point of exclimation, "I know him from The Capitol. We met at the new Fire Lord's corrination ceremony," she mused to herself. She hadn't taken that much of a liking to him but, maybe she was wrong as first impressions generally are. "Bears?" She asked, genuinly confused, "Surely you mean platapusbear or armadillobear?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 21, 2007 5:34 pm

Musei shrugged his shoulders. "It's just what I call them. I heard someone call it a bear before, but by the sound of it I must have just caught the last part of the name. Hmm." He grinned, drinking the last of his juice. "You met Fulgar? Yeah he's kind of hard to get used to, but I like him. I don't know why. You know where he is?"

She listened in silence, her head lowering a bit as Musei began to speak of Fulgar. He sure did sound excited. Was he going to stay there with Fulgar if they did cross paths? Her lips pressed together, tempted to say something but decided not to. The two of them where enjoying their conversation and Niima wasn't going to be a 'third wheel'. Her eyes began to sweep across the room, examining details that most surely would of missed.
