Kaiser: I've pointed out the very same misnomer. If I say I'll never have an abortion I get jumped on and asked about WHAT IF YOU WOULD DIE WHAT IF YOU HAD CHILDREN DEPENDING ON YOU WHAT WOULD YOU DO THEN!?!?!!?!?!

And yet if someone declares themself childfree forever they're not asked BUT WHAT IF YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND WOULD YOU CARRY TO TERM THEN?!?!?!!?

IT's ridiculous. For some reason to be "pro-life personally" (even in the I don't find abortion icky, I just don't think it's the right choice for me unless xyz) is degrading and conceding ground to pro-lifers. No, it's not. It'sa personal decision made by ME because I know myself, just like all the people who would always abort because they don't want children - it's a personal decision made by them. Why are both choices not fully supported and celebrated? Isn't that the true meaning of choice?

If I'm wrong, please let me know.

You're basically dead on, I'd make a sexy comment, but I believe my Girlfriend will have my hide and yours if she was to find out. From what I've stated, state you are your stance and state what you personally believe in and give facts to support either or one, but usually personal options aren't up for question as they are your own, it is your stance that is in question.

If people have a problem with you stating what you would do personally, they can go ******** off and DIAF (especially pro-choice :/ this is the reason for your existence people) because they should SUPPORT your CHOICE!!!!!!! and not give you s**t about it.

Seriously, choicers, if a pro-choicer wants to never abort, support them and don't tell them to keep it to themselves or you better do the same things to the pro-choice and childless peeps.

And that last point made me laugh and nod my head thinking: Finally, someone understands. If your going to abort every living thing within you, hell even out of spite and anger, go for it, I have no legal way of stopping you, short of physically picking you up and not making you, but thats down right dumb, they will support you, but you better as damn well support a woman with no income and such to want 3 more children and not at all force her or mention that she should do this because it is the better choice.

So in short:
Lrn2ply nubs... really, learn to understand your stance before you blab.

I thought that they did understand it. My guess is that the word 'pro-life' just freaks them out or makes them angry or something. From what I have observed a lot of people in that guild hate pro-lifers just for being pro-life and they can't stand the word so they call them anti-women. But I really don't know...I'm mostly just guessing. So when a choicer calls themself personally pro-life it's like, "OMG!!! TABOO WORD!!!"

In their minds, we want to hurt women, make them second-class citizens, and it's equal to rape (we've all seen the sigs)...I suppose it makes sense if the word scares them. If I had a right which I don't find immoral at all and someone wanted me to not have that right, I'd be pretty angry at them. Since my morals tell me it's wrong to kill someone to get out of a problem, especially one I'm partially responsible for, and I see a fetus as a person, doesn't mean that other people share my views...if someone doesn't see a fetus as a person or prioritizes rights and responsibilities differently, my views are a threat so it makes a certain amount of sense to be scared of people who call themselves "pro-life."

I don't agree with it, but I can understand being scared of it. I think what they don't like is people saying, "I think abortion is wrong, but I don't want to push my morals on other women," because they feel like they're being preached to. Someone said it undermines what they're trying to do. I didn't know having a differing opinion on the morality of abortion but still supporting it being legal was undermining the pro-choice movement.

Well, it doesn't even have to particularly be a pro-life stance for yourself. Like, I don't find abortion morally wrong, and if I felt in the situation that it was best I would do so. However, because I say that I would prefer to birth all my pregnancies, I am vilified. THAT, I do not agree with. I am not undermining their position - I have just said to a guild full of pro-lifers who can read and reply to this that I do not find abortion morally wrong.

Personally, I think that anyone who would vote pro-choice should be allowed the freedom to declare that they are pro-life personally, because that's the CHOICE they have made for themselves. I just don't see why that's such a big deal. There are pro-choicers that say they'd abort all the time, and no pro-choicer has an issue with that. What's the issue with saying I want to keep all my pregnancies? Gah. It just bugs me.

Also, lymelady, I don't think that. I understand you have a different viewpoint - I used to hold it myself. I was pro-life, then what pro-choicers call pro-punishment, and I'm currently pro-choice. If someone proved that it was more morally wrong to remove the foetus than to force a woman to remain pregnant against her will then I might even switch back. We just hold different opinions on which of the two is more morally wrong.

@Kaiser: ;D Unspoken sexy comment accepted, since I'm sure neither of us would care to have our hides taken away.

I didn't really mean all pro-choice people, just, the ones who're vocally anti-pro-life.

They're really like that when you say, "I don't think I'll abort because it's not right for me?" That's...horrible really. It's pro-abortion, and not in the sense of, "I want abortion to be legal," but in the sense of, I want women to abort in these situations.

So you're saying you're politically pro-choice but personally ANTI-WOMAN!?!?!? scream scream scream

This is what happens when people fail to realise that the "pro-choice" and "pro-life" viewpoints are not actually polar opposites. It's not like pro-capital punishment and anti-capital punishment (even that's not a great example). More like pro-Pepsi and pro-Sprite, rather than pro-soda and anti-soda.

Now, if you're pro-abortion, like a select few crazy people are, you're both anti-life and anti-choice. Not pro-choice. So, here's an idea: if you think everyone should abort every pregnancy, GTFO OF THE PCG. Have the mods ever considered banning them? If you're disgusted by women who carry pregnancies to term and only support the right to abortion because you hate fetuses, you're not pro-choice. Stop using a rational, acceptable euphemism and admit you're just a misanthropic turd even the VHEMT finds distasteful.

No, Zin, I haven't been playing enough... I specced Prot to help tank D: I WANNA DPS!!!!

Anyway, I find it funny they call use anti choice which in fact is far from what we are and I love correcting them whenever we are in the same thread telling them there are no people who just want to implant microchips and control your body for their own in here... *looks around* I just see a moderate pro-lifer and a moderate pro-choicer, so ya, insults don't fly, try again.

Oh, here, the epitome of their knowledge on us, and excuse the quote, but it was just TOO unbearable to pass up. I clipped out the name.

For Great Justice!
On that thread... well, what is there to say? It just proves what we say about THEM is right and what they say about US is wrong. I only read the first three posts but that gave me a pretty good indication of how sick they are.

Now D: time to start on my essay!

"For the same reason's we'd give a s**t if someone were racist but didn't believe the law should be."

I'm glad that women who don't want to abort are racists. I'm also glad that Sterile apparently doesn't have a spine because she's pro-life personal. Good to know that having an opinion that differs from that of other people, the guts to take a view that people on BOTH sides can disagree with and argue with, and to publicly state that view KNOWING that you can alienate people on both sides of the fence. Yeah. That's oh so spineless.

ROFL YES! I am totally against myself and want to punish myself for having sex. xd That's exactly what it is. I will make myself a second class citizen by having a babeh instead of turning it into a fetus cookie and eating it.

I've always thought there was some middle ground between the two. It's not a black and white subject at all. Some people are pro-choice up until viability, some people are pro-life except in certain cases like rape and should harm come to the woman...etc. etc. It's not like there is only one side, pro-choice no matter what, even the day before the kid could be born, and pro-life no matter what even if it kills mommy. xp I consider myself kinda in the middle somewhere between the two.

Oh and just for the record I am pro-pepsi and anti-coca cola. whee (but only cuz I think coke tastes like s**t.)

Coke was there for me in the March For Redhead Supreme Dominance! Coke invented Barbie Dolls, then protested against them because they looked like hookers to it! Coke trained my dog to sing "The Internet is for Porn!" Coke saved my marriage! Coke...erm...eroded my teeth! GO COKE! COKE FOR PRESIDENT!
