Name: Caitlin Years working with Horses: 8 1/2 Current discipline(s) you are training in: Hunter/Jumper, but I really want to switch to dressage! Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: Sadly, no... If so, what is it's name, breed, color, size?: NONE crying Do you have a favourite lesson horse?: Yes, his name is Stanley. He is a 16.2 hand dark bay thoroughbred gelding. Name: Trite is fine or Kay - if you must. smile Years working with Horses: Oh god, you're going to actually make me count?! Okay, well since I was about 9ish - I'm turning 18 this May. Current discipline(s) you are training in: English. Hunter/Jumper and some dressage. Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: Neither. Though I am currently working on that. Maybe adoption of a OTTB in the near future. :Ninja: Do you have a favorite lesson horse?: Not really. There are a few horses I do like, but I try really hard not to get too attached because they just are not mine and I don't want to be heartbroken should anything happen to the horse or say the owner sells it and I never see it again. Anything Else? I like funky exotic breeds of horse and goofing off in the barn usually ends in pain for me.

Name: Corey, but most people on here just refer to me as Aria. Simpler to remember with the username. Years working with Horses: 11 now. Wow, I feel like an old maid... Current discipline(s) you are training in: For myself, I ride Dressage. I've dabbled in just about everything, but Dressage is my love. However, my main focus right now is not on my riding, but on honing my abilities as a therapeutic riding instructor. I've been working in TR for about 3 years now, teaching 2 of them at Ride-Like-A-Knight Therapeutic Riding Center in association with St. Andrews Presbyterian College (where I'm enrolled as a student persuing a degree in, guess, Therapeutic Horsemanship!). I'm sitting for my registered level instructor exam this spring, so wish me luck! Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: Um, kind of? I still techincally own one of my horses, but he lives at a dude ranch in Eastern Oregon because after an injury, the osteoarthritis that resulted as a complication made it impossible for him to continue training, and he was miserable sitting around in the pasture doing nothing. Apparently he's doing really well as an ranch horse. Who would have thought. But as for having my own horse that I actually get to see and do things with, no. I lead a very nomadic lifestyle, it's not really practical. If so, what is it's name, breed, color, size?: Griffin, Quarter Horse/Arab (but thinks, acts, and looks like a thoroughbred), Bright Bay, 16.2hh. He also likes being scratched and wants to be your friend. Especially if you'll play tag with him. Do you have a favourite lesson horse?: Yes! Corky! He's a 16.3ish (or that's my guess) imported Irish Sporthorse Gelding, 13 years old. He used to be a foxhunter, but was donated to my school (all of our horses are donations) because he had developed the habit of running backwards on the trail. He has some anxiety issues, and whenever he gets nervous, he runs on his forehand, but he's getting a lot better, and I think he could be really fabulous someday. I've got another year and a half here to turn him into something incredible, or at least a reliable school horse. Oh, and all of our TR ponies! I love them! Well, most of the time. Sometimes I think the POA might be better suited for glue than teaching kids with disabilities to ride... but overall, they're all really good. Anything Else: Horses consume my life. I thought they did when I was younger, but I had no idea. I spend hours at the barn every day riding/teaching/volunteering. Almost all of my classes center around some aspect of horses, whether it be equine business management, horse science, Basic Riding Instruction, or Advanced Techniques in Therapeutic Horsemanship. Any free time I have is usually spent pondering lesson plans, talking to people about horses, dreaming about my future TR center, making plans for said TR center with my best friend, or reading books about, you guessed it, horses. Besides horses, I'm also a classically trained soprano (singer) and I used to act... but I don't have time for that any more because of horses. I'm very open-minded, but also very opinionated. I am extremely passionate about the things that I believe in. I'm also very long-winded and have a tendency to ramble on incoherently for long periods of time. biggrin

Name: Julia Years working with Horses: thirteen Current discipline(s) you are training in: Stadium Jumping Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: I own a horse If so, what is it's name, breed, color, size?: Sophie, Oldenburg, Black, and 17.2 hands Do you have a favourite lesson horse?: The current place I train at only has a few lesson horses because their prime focus is training horses instead of people so we get a lot of horses that come and go. Anything Else: I've got an "AA" rated horse show coming up in two weekends! Im nervous so wish me luck!!! haha

Name: Morgan (some people call me Teddi though...) Years working with Horses: Ummm.... 8? Current discipline(s) you are training in: I do a bit of Endurance, but mainly I just do trails. Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: I own one biggrin If so, what is it's name, breed, color, size?: Jack (registered name Wonder's Pride, which I really want to change.) he is a 9 year old, 15hh, dappled bay standardbred gelding. Do you have a favourite lesson horse?: When I was doing lessons my favourite was Tremelo, (16hh chestnut Anglo-arab gelding) and my favourite trail horse is Monty (15.2 hh grey Percheron X Warmblood) Anything Else: The first horse I can remember seeing is my mum's 16hh thoroughbred Top Deck (who she doesn't own anymore) and laughing at his drooling his oats everywhere. I also remember playing peek-a-boo with the two resident giants New York and King (who are now sadly deceased, but I think they were about 18hh) I also have a soft spot for Standardbreds and plan on starting a rescue for mistreated Off-the-Track trotters and pacers. If I ever get the funds and whatnot...

Name: Jesse Years working with Horses: About 12, I'd say. Been a horse owner for 10. Current discipline(s) you are training in: I mainly use my horses for recreational riding. I used to do a lot of barrel racing, pole bending and other rodeo games on my past horses. I also use one of my horses for herding cattle. Do you own (or lease) your own horse?: I own two. If so, what is it's name, breed, color, size?: Comanche is an unregistered bay blanket appaloosa gelding around 14.5 hands. He's not a big horse but he's nice and stocky. Miakoda is an unregistered sorrel overo paint filly. Raised her from birth. Not sure about her size, she's three this coming April and isn't done growing by a long shot. Do you have a favourite lesson horse?: Never took lessons. Anything Else: I broke my leg back in 2005 after my horse fell on me doing a sharp turn in our arena. Now I have a metal rod in my leg and I'm now part Terminator.
