"Its a pleasure to battle you Dante." Neal said with a smirk. Now that he knew he might have a chance at winning, and that the trainer he was battling wasn't a complete jerk, at least he wasn't right now, he felt more confident. "All right Spike lets start this off with a Thundershock attack!" Neal ordered. Spike nodded and his sharp fur standing up on end he sent a shock towards Apollo.
"Apollo dodge with Quick Attack and go into a Stomp." Dante said. Apollo imediatly dashed to the side avoiding the Thundershock and dashed forward towards the Jolteon. When he got there he lifted his hooves up and smashed them down onto the ground. However Apollo wasn't the only fast pokemon there and the Jolteon managed to run between Apollo's long legs.
Now underneath the fire pony the Jolteon grinned and his fur puffing up again he released a Pin Missle attack.
Upon feeling the tiny pins hit him Apollo gave a loud whinny before moving his head underneath his legs and opening his mouth he let loose a Flamethrower attack. Some of the flames licked at Apollo himself but the fire didn't even hurt the black and white pony. The Jolteon though gave a suprised squeel as the flames licked at his fur. Both done with there attacks the two speedy pokemon jumped away from one another.

The mermaid Pokemon wasn't going to go down quite as easily as Flareon. She reared her head back, unleashing a Bubble attack on command from her trainer.
Kilik shook his head. "Lombre!" It was plain to see that Kilik didn't want him to move. He was teaching Vaprina a lesson that it matters about the type advantages in battle, not the strength of an attack. Lombre took the bubbles dead on, but hardly suffered. He clamped his beak with a snap. "You see, Lombre is a Water- and Grass-type. With those two types, he's got a very high resistance to Water-type attacks. Now," he laughed, "That also means his Grass-attacks get a bonus! As I'll demonstrate by having him finish off Vaporeon with Absorb!" Lombre nodded and tilted his head. Three small (in comparison to Giga Drain's) green orbs floated out and connected with the opposition. Their return trip brought him enough energy to restore what very little stamina he had lost upon taking on the Bubble attack.
Vaprina gasped as she watched her Pokemon teeter for a moment. "Can you...continue?" Her question was irrelivant. The Pokemon collapsed onto her stomach and was routinely called back into her Pokeball. "Got to hand it to you!" she giggled, "You're quite strong."
"But still an amateur," Joslena scoffed as she walked over to take her place, "You've got some nerve. Coming in here, battling and destroying part of our stage. I'll show you some manners. Jolteon!" She tossed up a ball, wasting no time to get into the fray. A spikey yellow and white Pokemon emerged to the battlefield, sparking with electricity.
Kilik sighed. Just one after another, he thought, holding up the Pokeball to recall his Lombre. "I'm at a bit of a crossroads here," he said before grabbing his Rocket Ball, "I could send out my weapon and defeat you faster. Then again, where's the fun?" He tapped the button on the ball to enlarge it. "Which is why I'm using this! Come back out, Sudowoodo!" The tree emerged in the same place as before, shaking her branches in a flashy manner and wiggling her trunk in the space that would normally be reserved for hips. "Round three. The game's still on."

The young woman turned gracefully around to face her challenger, a small, distracted smile planted on her lips. Behind her, a war-battered Skarmory stood, its wings very much damaged indeed; it appeared that she had been tending to it personally before her guests had come. "Such formality!" she said softly, smile slowly widening as she saw just who her challenger was. "But it has been a very long time since I've seen you last, Nina. And Whitney as well, it seems."
Before taking on her Gym Leader duties, however, Jasmine briefly turned her attention to the Skarmory behind her, apologetically adding in Nina's direction, "Please give me a moment for this Skarmory; it's about the time of year her new wings should be growing out, but her present set are paining her." The bird looked rather indignant at the notion that she would not be fighting, but cringed when her wings were touched; Jasmine smiled sadly, regret showing in her eyes for feeling that she had pushed the Skarmory too far in the last month or so. Sure, Skarmory often had their wings scarred from battle, but this was a bit much. A year or so, her typical two gym battlers was Magneton and Steelix, but the young bird, bred by her grandfather, had wanted some fighting as well. Nevermind now, though. She had her duty to attend to. Calling over a younger girl, she whispered a few phrases and the Skarmory was led away.
Sighing, she relaxed her shoulders away from her ears for a moment before taking a rigid, professional posture. "Now, for my own formalities. I am Jasmine, Gym Leader of the Olivine City Gym. It would be an honor to battle you, with the might of these Pokemon of Steel." And really, it is; you don't battle another gym leader everyday, she added solemnly in her head -- usually that last part was just regulation, but wow, this would be one tough battle.
"Rules are short and sweet: two Pokemon each, no interference from trainers, be it items or early recall."

"Good job there Apollo." Dante said smiling slighlty at his pokemon's quick thinking. "By the way Neal your Jolteon isn't half bad itself."
"Thank you, your...." He paused not exactly knowing what kind of pokemon Apollo was. "Umm your whatever, is very good as well."
Apollo snorted irritatedly and stamped a hard hoof down at being called a 'whatever'. "Apollo is a Ponyta. I think its time we got started on our battle again. Apollo use Fire Spin!" Apollo whinnied and rearing back again the black and white flames on his mane and tail grew longer and soon trapped the Jolteon in a vortex of flame.
"Spike no!" It was to late though as the black and white fire licked at the Jolteon and effectivly trapped the electric pokemon. "Well we dont need to move in order to attack! Spike use Pin Missle again!" The Jolteon growled and ignoring the flames to the best of his ability stiffened his fur again and launched four vollies of needle like fur at Apollo.

Nina smiled, and nodded a little bit. "All right," she said, "that's fair enough to me." She reached for her belt, as Whitney stood off to the side, prepaing to watch the battle. Like, you can do it, Nina, I know you can!
Nina snatched the Safari Ball from her belt, and clicked the button, enlarging the ball. She let out a deep breath. Here goes nothing...
Pookie appeared in the arena. The Rhyhorn ran around in a circle a few times, appearing very happy to be out of his Safari Ball.

(( I'm so lost here. ><; I guess I'll ask about it tomorrow after the Chinese New Years celebration. . . ))
Having found her way into the Pokemon Center Mitsu handed her Pokeballs over to the pink haired nurse. She sank easily into the chair near the door that lead to the bedrooms. She let loose a long and weary sigh. "This is annoying," she muttered.
After a moment of sulking she got up in a fury of anger. Thinking was no longer the faithful companion it once had been. She opened up a map of the Kanto region from her Pokenav. "Let's see if I take a boat or surf from here," she pointed to a spot on the map being displayed on the red device, "I can get to Pallet. And from Pallet I can head to Viridian and then it's forest." She clicked the red device shut and went to retrive her Pokemon from Nurse Joy. I'm going to find out what this is all about. . . Even if it's the last thing I do.
Swiftly Mitsu exited the building and began to walk west towards her destination.
Soon she had come upon a small ferry and boarded the boat after paying a small fifty Pokedollar fee. Once aboard the modest ship she took a seat and waited for the ride to end.

The wind in her hair felt nice and she took a deep breath taking a trip down memory lane. One of the latest ship rides she recalled wasn't exactly a pleasent one.
The gang, Kasiya, Nina, Mike, and Sabrina too were all aboard and they were going to some island in Kanto in rescue of the brain washed Kilik. She had spent most of the trip sulking in one of the rooms in the ship. For what again? Ah yes, Mike of course. Something about him liking a particular girl. Mitsu couldn't recall the girl's name.
She felt a tug in her heart and it left a lingering ache. "Feh," she muttered running a hand through her black hair that held a tint of purple. She rubbed her head a bit, the memory was a tad annoying and the feeling that it gave her was just terrible.
Another slightly unwelcome memory began to play in the depths of her mind. It was the night of the cherry blossom festival and she had met up with Mike. It was the the same night that she had given him a kiss on the cheek. a tint of pink found it's way to her face as she thought about it. It was also the same night that she had played a role for Team Rocket.
She loosed an irratated sigh. These thoughts were so annoying. "The ship needs to move faster," she mumbled. The modest little ship glided on by slowly, but in truth they were close to Pallet Town already.

Yes! Finally! Mitsu raced off the boat and welcomed the sight of land. Wasting no time she rushed off to find the route that would lead to the city of Viridian.
"Hey! What's the rush? No even going to visit an old friend?" Mitsu turned around an immediate smile finding it's way onto her face. "So, so sorry. Might have slipped my mind," she said waving her hand, already walking in the direction of the other person. She embraced him, hugging quite tightly. "Long time no see Ken."
The two had quite a bit to catch up on. "How's your breeding going?" she asked once they had settled into his cozzy home with tea in front of them. "Pretty good," he said grinning. "Dad and I have become quite popular in our small city."
"Still the bird fanatic you've always been?" she teased slightly poking him in the arm. "Yes, yes," he replyed with a laugh. Then after a moment he spoke up again. "You're not as shy as you were back in Mossdeep."
"I supose you could say that," she replied, "You aren't so mean either." She grinned remembering how needy she had been back on Mossdeep, constantly hiding behind Ken for protection from the bullies and such. Even when they had set out on his father's Pidgeot to begin their Pokemon journey she had clung onto him and follwed him around until he had decided to return home and follow his father's footsteps as a Pokemon breeder. "So how's the badge collecting coming along?" he asked, attemping to sound casual. In truth he was quite curious, but he couldn't let Mitsu know now that could he?
"Great, thoush I'm still missing a few in Hoenn and I have none whatsoever for any other region." She showed her collection of badges to him. They were all shiny and an inviting sight. "Enough about that though," she said smiling, "How about showing me your new team?"

"You first," Mitsu said before Ken could say anything. The old friends stepped outside. "Fine, fine," he muttered unclipping the Pokeballs from his belt. Mitsu finally had taken in everything and now noticed his outfit. It wasn't too different than the normal clothing that he usually wore. A pair of faded blue jeans, a white long sleeve shirt with a red tee shirt over it.
With a flick of his wrist he sent his first Pokeball out. Mitsu wasn't too surprised to see the proud Pidgeot. "Hey there," Mitsu said holding her arm out as Ken had taught her before when they were still young. The brown bird landed on her arm, cooing. He was delighted to see a familair face. Mitsu had known him since he was a small Pigey. "Pidgeot, I thought so," she said to Ken, "Who else is in your party huh?"
Aerodactyl, Skarmory, Xatu, Altaria, and Tropius were sent out next. Two from each region Mitsu noted and breeded to be the best she guessed. "They're amazing," she gasped especially fixated on his Altaria. "I'd love one of those," she said more to herself than anyone. "Cute and cuddly," he laughed, "how so utterly you."
"I can't help myself if she's adorable," Mitsu said with a slight giggle. "I guess it's my turn now." She let loos her ever faitful and lovable team. "You know Karri, and Ebony," she guestured at the two Pokemon. "The rest are Sapphire my Houndoom, Nightmare the Gyrados, Ivy the Ivysuar, and Zyphyr the Pidgeotto." She smilied proudly at her team.

Jasmine had sent out her ever-faithful Magneton, watching it float in the air with fondness. Some people felt Steel Pokemon were no better than manufactured machines, but she knew they were so much more than just that. Under their cool, hard surfaces, she knew they had a warm heart of gold. She frowned, however, when she saw Nina's choice of Pokemon -- Rhyhorn would be a tough one for Magneton to face off, considering that the no Electric attack would work, and the majority (if not all) of his other attacks were ineffective. Nevertheless, she had faith in the experienced Magneton and trusted it. Determination set in the eyes of both the Pokemon and the Gym Leader; win or lose, they'd give Nina a good challenge with the best they had.
"Let's start if off, Magneton. Lock On," she said quietly, not about to underestimate this foe by any means. The three-magnet mass hummed with an eerie, metallic sound as it carefully observed and recorded the Rhyhorn's movements, preparing for the next attack.

Surge frowned, not having expected that pint-sized dragon thing to be able to defeat Magnemite. "You've got spunk, I'll give you that," the large man scoffed as he recalled the defeated Magnet Pokemon. "But we've only just begun. Let's see if you can keep up with this one!" With a powerful throw, his second Pokemon was released - a large, spherical Pokemon that strongly resembled a Pokeball.
Jaeshan stared at it, wracking his memory for its name. "Voltorb? No, that's not right, it's Electrode," he murmured. It doesn't matter, he thought, glancing at Bagon. If things start to go badly, we've always got our trump card. "Try and hit it with a Headbutt, Bagon!" Jaeshan called, and eagerly (and still flailing) Bagon raced forward, launching herself like a rocket at the Electrode.

Surge merely shook his head, and barked an order at his Pokemon. Its body rippled with electricity, and it shot towards Bagon with a Spark attack. Both attacks hit home, Electrode making a sound that sounded like a buzzing laughter. Surge placed his hands on his wide hips, a smirk spread across his bandaged face. "Now finish it with a Tackle!"
"Bagon!" Jaeshan cried as the little dragon was sent skidding backwards from the electrified tackle. She pulled herself to her feet, opening her mouth for an Ember but was tackled solidly to the ground before she could launch her attack. She whimpered a bit, trying to get back up again, but couldn't. "You did very well," Jaeshan said, admiring Bagon's efforts as he recalled her. "I'm very proud of you." Torchic chirped her agreement from her place in the boy's arms, a true understanding of battles forming in her young and impressionable mind.

Instinctively, Jaeshan reached for Nidoking's Pokeball, but changed his mind, grabbing the one next to it instead. "Come on out, Weepinbell!" The Flycatcher Pokemon appeared before them, still looking happy after the 'snack' he'd just eaten, in the form of a useless TM disc. Weepinbell's resistant to electricity, he thought. I'm sure Surge has something up his sleeve. He pointed at the Electrode, and called for a Sludge Bomb attack.
"Rollout!" Surge barked at almost the same time, as the Weepinbell opened its mouth and spat a glob of thick sludge at the Electrode. The spherical Pokemon rolled forward, gaining momentum and shooting right through the Sludge Bomb, refusing to show how much that attack had hurt. It slammed into Weepinbell, albeit rather weakly, and continued rolling, making a roundabout turn and headed straight for the Grass-type again.

Kilik snapped his fingers casually, pointing at Jolteon. "Sudowoodo, no doubt that you're slower than Jolteon. However," he nodded, "Try to hit it when you can. Attack with a Low Kick!" She ran forward, taking a moment to stare at the hole she had created in her last battle. The smile on her face was bright and she swung her foot at the paws of her electric foe.
"Jolteon!" she barked. The spikey creature disappeared in a flash, running past Sudowoodo and causing the attack to miss. A smirk appeared on both Jolteon and Joslena's lips. "Hit it with Quick Attack!" she ordered. Jolteon jumped back and dashed forward.
The boy's eyes widened. He had never seen a Pokemon that fast before. The same white light that trailed behind his Elekid was now flowing behind Jolteon as it smashed into Sudowoodo. The Pokemon didn't flinch. The attack clearly didn't do as much as was hoped, and it was a mistake to get Jolteon that close to her. The Rock-type tree lifted a branch high above her head, dropping the three orbs onto Jolteon in an uncalled for Rock Slide.
The weight of all three rocks fell onto him harshly and the speed demon took a massive amount of damage. The Pokemon collapsed under the stones. Slowly, Jolteon pulled himself out of the rubble and stood on top of one of the rocks. There was a loud creaking noise. Everyone and everything in the theatre was quiet. Another creak. Nothing happened. "Jolteon! Thunderbolt!"
Another TM move. These sisters must spend time with the shops.. "Sudowoodo! It won't do much to you, so take the damage!" She looked at her trainer, her eyes sparkling as the three orbs grew back into their places. Was he really going to let her take the damage from the attack? She suddenly felt electricity along her body and she twitched lightly. Although, it didn't hurt as much as she thought. "See? Don't question me, Sudowoodo."
"Jolteon! Get away from it!" Joslena cried. The Pokemon jumped off the rocks and landed a few inches from Kilik. "Now go! Attack with another Thunderbolt!" Sparks trailed along its body and he lifted his head high and howled. "Joooolteon!" Another bolt of lightning fired from his body, aimed square for Sudowoodo's chest.

Umbra chuckled lowly. "Joslena doesn't get that his Pokemon is resistant to her Electric attacks."
"Looks like she'll find out the hard way," Esprina stated, "That Sudowoodo has got quite an attitude." She squinted at how bright the flash of lightning was when it connected with the tree.
"Why couldn't he have used Sudowoodo against me!?" Vaprina whined, "I would've won a battle and Joslena wouldn't be in this mess!"
Frana shook her head, "Because he's not an idiot. Kilik clearly knows when he's at a type advantage and when he's at a disadvantage."
"He must've studied up!" Joslena called upon hearing the last bit of Frana's statement. She winced when a Low Kick from Sudowoodo connected with her Jolteon. No way I'll lose to an amateur! she thought, her fists shaking.
"Joslena," Kilik said, "I'll tell you what I told a kid in the Ilex Forest." He pointed at Jolteon, whose paws were shaking, "Your Jolteon's tired and hurt. Unless you still want to continue, I suggest recalling your Pokemon and letting me battle Esprina now." He cast a glance over at the girl in the purple kimono then back at his opponent.
She shook her head. "Jolteon! Quick Attack!" The Pokemon ran forward and then disappeared. She gasped. Where did he go? There was a cry coming from beneath the stage. The girl clasped her hands around the cuffs of her sleeves and ran over to the hole in the stage. Jolteon had fallen through. She sighed and lifted the Pokeball to recall the Electric-type. "Well, you beat me. Hate to say it..." she sighed, "But you're better than I am. Esprina!" she looked at her sister as she began walking back to where her other sisters were, "Get in there."
"All right, all right," she said, walking over to her corner of the stage. When she watched Kilik recall his Sudowoodo, she smiled. "Oh? What Pokemon of yours will I be battling?" she asked sweetly, watching the boy intently.
"He's been out before. Care to wager a guess?" he lifted a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it. His Lombre stood in front of him with his head facing the floor.
"Oh!" she smiled, throwing her Pokeball up and revealing her purple Eevee evolution: the Psychic-type Espeon. The red jewel in the middle of her head shined brightly, even in the dimly lit theatre. Her split tail wiggled slightly. "Ready?"
"Round four," Kilik smirked.
