The man let whoever take the map from his hands, and took a step back. "The satisfaction of knowing that someone will benefit from this map is payment enough, m'am! Just be sure to pass it on to someone else when you're done with it.
"Now, if you'll excuse me..." He began to head off in direction X, unless they had anything else to say.

Eileen let Ikari have the map, since she couldn't make anything out of it than what it was. "Thank you...!" she called out after the guide. "Ano...one of us should use the other marble I think." She looked over at the pink sphere. "...ano, maybe you should have it... you got hurt the worst...."

He hardly cared for the 'guide'. Obviously he wasnt' much of a guide after all if he was giving away maps... much less actually needed them to find his way around.
He held the map just a foot from his fact, with the bootom edge in the crook of his left arm, his forearm behind the map, and his fingers holding the top edge to keep it from folding up on itself. Didn't do too much to prevent the left and right sides from waving around in the wind, but what could he do, he only had two arms.
And his second arm was moving along the map. His eyes darted up, looking around the area, trying to pick out some landmarks. Then he looked back down, running his index and middle finger across the map. He was looking for the spot where he would be on this map, by his best guess.

Eileen waited while Ikari perused the map, hoping the weakness would go away on its own. She sighed in frustration when some time later she became convinced it was not going to go away. He had refused the pink marble, and so Eileen nodded and took it upon herself to equip the item. Almost instantly the fatigue lifted. Relieved, she walked over to Ikari and looked over his good shoulder. "...ne, did you find anything?"

He frowned deeply, and kneeled down on the ground, now laying the map on the ground. He couldnt' seem to make heads or tails of it.
He flipped it over, laying it flat to look at the other side of it, checking it for any details.
Presuming none, he flipped it back, onto the side he was originally studying.
Back to logical methods. Look for stadards things. Keys, scales, legends, anything that might explain the map or the markings. And then, look at the map, figure out what was so, odd, about it, what was intriguing him.

Eileen peered at the map for a while. It seemed normal enough. "Ano...maybe there's a secret map drawn on the back in lemon juice or something. 3nodding " It really wasn't her forte. Maps were just like other non-manga. She just couldn't focus on them for very long because they were boring.

Eileen blinked, then reached to her side and retrieved her jPhone. She aimed it at the map, then took a picture. "...yosh..." she pumped her arm once then wandered a little ways away, slipping on her headphones as she stared at her own copy of the map to the musical stylings of Utada Hikaru's "Kremlin Dusk".

Finally he frowned as he stared at it. There had to be something there. That weird man... it seemed so... odd...
Finally, he did something a bit childish, in his mind. After all, everyone remembers how you could make your eyes unfocus, and 'see' through your hand if you held it up to your face...
He did the same thing to the map, watching his eyes drift apart as he was looking at it, wondering if he could actually see through this 'map'...
Didnt' the man say look beyond it?

Was Ikari looking through the map? Only he would know, for if he was, the answer would spring into his mind.

Eileen kept peering at the map on her jPhone. They should really just keep going...she wasn't sure how this thing would help any...but the way that the samurai stared at it just made her feel guilty for wanting to leave. "...eto...he said it saved him before...and to look beyond...?" She squinted. "...ano...there isn't any beyond, ne? It's not like it's see through." She glanced at the ground just in case though.

If the answer didn't come out of the woodwork for her, than she had not yet seen that which was invisible.

He could see around parts of it. But there was still a middle that he couldn't quite get his eyes to focus beyond.
So what did he do? The logical thing to him as Eileen spoke. He stood up. Smaller map in hsi vision, ment he could see beyond it easier. Yup, now he had two 'semi transparent' maps in his vision...
This was stupid. It couldn't help, could it?

Eileen squinted her eyes in frustration. "Mooouuuu...." She sighed, and touched her finger to the map on her phone. She scrolled it around this way and that. Then she looked to Ikari. "...nee.. did you try pushing your hand into it yet?"
