FLCL is all about "Coming of Age" for boys and the looking down a shirt is pretty typical behavior. So is nose bleeds, but I don't want to bore you with Japanese cultural facts about manga...

Why do people get nose bleeds when they get turned on? That always confuses me.

Long story short, the a Japanese old wives' tale that says that nosebleeds are triggered by sexual arousal. Hence why many guys (and girls, in rare cases) in anime get nosebleeds at strange times. sweatdrop
